Beakerkin Euro Mystery

Lets see if many of you can figure our what this rant is about.

Europeans are up in arms about a religion that is expanding in Europe. It is opening centers in European Capitals with outrage from the Euros. The Europeans claim that this religion tries to lure impressionable young people with agressive tactics and harasses critics. Europeans are woried this religion will use its power to influence politicians. In Belgium, Greece and Germany contend the leaders seek financial gain and use totalitarian methods to keep people in line.

Christian DemocratRonald Porfalla "It is intolerable that religion x can throw its weight around in the capital of Germany"

Chairman of the Lutheran Church in Germany " X has nothing to do with religion, and certainly nothing to do with Christianity"

An expert in the Hamburg ministry wrote " They want to pressure people to do business under the cloak of a religion". This same expert Ursula Caberta compained "that religion x may undermine German Democracy with cynical ideology. They want to be represented in all the capitals of Europe and they allready have centers in London, Madrid and Brussels"

Some of you thought the above was about Islam. The above is about the pain the behind nonsense of Scientology. The hysteria is only more proof that Europeans are more concerned with the propensity to be annoying than actual criminal threats. As far as intimidation goes I do not remember Scientologist threatening to behead anyone over cartoons. I do not remember Scientologists ever threatening assasination to people that revert to other religions. I don't recall scientologists calling for genocide of another people or burning cars in Paris. I do remember scientologists annoying me in DC while eating a stack of strawberry walnut pancakes a few blocks from the Phillips Museum in DC.

The lesson we learn from the super enlightened Euros is worse to be annoying than to have a large vocal anti-social contingent. Those enlightened Euros certainly have their priorities in order.

Beaker-I read the first paragraph and was waving my hand in the air! LOL! Scientology is a collection of very peculiar ideas that are so far off track, the proponents are, well, nuts! No wonder they hate and fear psychiatry!
The Europeans are an example of over-civilized, over-cultured and over-bearing nincompoops.
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

The Europeans have an arrogance about tradition. The fact that Islam is old and established lets all type of absurd behavior fly under the radar. The fact that Scientology is new and extreemly odd lends itself to scutiny, possibly because of its American roots.

I do remember my trip to DC and the excellent pancakes. I was there with my girlfriend and I put an end to the sales pitch. Hey buddy I am here to enjoy the pancakes. There is something in my tone when I am eating that gets my point across. We were spared anymore BS.

Yes Beak, Scientologist do use the threat of physical, monetary violence and in some cases death threats against family members against those who turn away from their so called religion. I know this from knowing many former scientologists here and knowing what they went through when they left this so called curch.

Scientology is not a religion it is a Cult and like all cults it uses whatever means it can to keep those it has trapped in its fold.

However, I dont understand what the Euro's are so upset about. After all they tolerate and support a much more dangerous religion in their midst and then rail against this one. But then, that could be the reason. Cant have to many competing religions you know.

I guess as long as you run around screaming and chanting Death to America then you are a certified religon that the Euros will accept.

Now if the Scientologist would just get with the program and get with the political correct crowd calling for Death to America then they would be embraced by all of Europe.

I class L.Ron Hubbard right up there with Muhammed. WHACKOOOOO,LOONEY.:)

Beak,
When you wrote Europeans are woried this religion will use its power to influence politicians, I knew that you weren't writing about Islam. Islam is already using its power to cow politicians in Europe.

Justin has it right:

I guess as long as you run around screaming and chanting Death to America then you are a certified religon that the Euros will accept.

Now if the Scientologist would just get with the program and get with the political correct crowd calling for Death to America then they would be embraced by all of Europe.

I have zero use for Scientology. But when it comes to danger to the whole of society, it's not on the same dangerous par as Islam. Most people know that Scientology is a cult. But if the threat of physical, monetary violence and in some cases death threats against family members against those who turn away, wouldn't Islam also be a cult?

Before Islam reared its bloody head, I was keeping my eye on Scientology--from a distance.

If you want to know how completely insane L.Ron Hubbard was, read the book that was written by his son. Its called, 'L.Ron Hubbard: Messiah or Madman?' by Bent Corydon and L.Ron Hubbard, Jr / aka Ronald DeWolf. 1987.

Naturally, the Scientology goons tried to stop the book from being published and I had to assure the publicist at Lyle Stuart that I wasn't a nut trying to get a free copy [publishing perk]. She had recieved death threats and was understandably jumpy.

SCARY book!!! They do kill and they do torture. Nothing compares to Islam, but this is one tricky little game of mind control for the idle rich and idle souls.

Europeans? They're just funny. A real scream these days..

I will see if I can get a copy. However, Scientology has a long way before it can catch up to Islam or Communism. I am sure the Duck will go on an anti Scientology screed that will prove how hypocritical he is.

Urban Infidel said...

beak,
Oh no, Scientology is nowhere near the savagery of Islam.

The book is out of print. I am more than happy to lend you mine.. I've loaned it out before.

You can get rare and out-of-print books at:
www.alibris.com

What I'd like to know is, what is the 'religion' part of Scientology?? Other than the tax-exempt aspect.

AOW I agree Islam is a cult in the fact that it uses torture, physical threats and even death in its creed. That is why I say that, that muhammed boy was smoking some funny stuff in that cave. :)

Beak while Scientology has not yet reached the heights of Islam and Communisim it is still a growing cancerous threat that will have to be dealt with.

I have not read the book by L.Ron Hubbards sons but I have read L. Ron Hubbards book for the basis of scientology and would have to say that anyone who could conceive such ideas is indeed a mad man. To most in Scientology L.Ron Hubbard is the messiah.

Urban Infidel,
I don't know all that much about Scientology, except for hearing about certain Hollywood types who belong to the cult.

When I last visited Los Angeles, I noted the Scientology museum there. I skipped going in.

As I was reading, I was thinking "It's got to be Evangelicals.... probably American Evangelicals.. Pentecostals... something like that..."

Scientology.. Ya, I don't know... John Travolta + wife seem okay in spite of it I guess... The whole thing just seems too crazy with the space aliens and all that...

I probably will get a visit from a Scientology type shortly. I have been reading some of the stuff on the web. They use legal blackmail almost as much as CAIR.

I do not know if you have ever been to the Phillips Museum but the DC headquarters is nearby in Dupont Circle. I do not know what it is but when I eat missionaries get scared. In the Summer in St Albans two people from the Jehova's witnesses approached me.
I said " I am eating" and they fled. It works on Mormons to as I offered some of my lunch. However, I guess my table fare scared the daylights out of the poor missionaries.

I have a woman whose sole job it is to track down odd books. I am making a list and that will be on it along with Mark Steyn's book.
How she got me Toynbee's account of the Armenian Genocide is a mystery. She is trying to get me to donate my collection when I leave.

they have assasins called R45's and if you cross Scientology expect a libel suit and to be smeared. Ask Readers Digest. You can take a personality test to get rid of your negative angrams. You're hooked up to a machine that measures the negative angrams. To get rid of them you must PAY. Of course you never get rid of all your angrams and the price can go up as your angrams increase. It's quite the odd cult.

I would like to thank those of you who came up with other ideas of possibilities for this satire. I am rather amused at the Eurosocialists calling candidate Nick Sarozy in France an American Neocon. This is just another way the bigoted left likes to hint at some Jewish blood in Sarkozy's family tree. The religious backround of George Allen's mother appeared out of nowhere in the PC left. What the religious beliefs of George Allen had to do with his political views are a mystery.

The birth practices of Scientology are so contrary to good bonding, that one gets the feeling that they are setting people up for child abuse, i.e. pedophilia, rape, physical and mental...definitely a very sick bunch!

I have been reading up on Scientology and it is not pretty. However, they do not fly planes into office buildings and are less annoying than commies.

Nanc

I went to that site that oddly lists the JDL as a cult group. I have known many JDL types and they are less cult like than Commies. The site does not mention the Communist Party which is the ultimate cult.

nanc said...

i don't choose their content and usually go when looking for something in particular.

my husband's family are jehovah witnesses and i gather much good information there which usually leads me to other good information.

i've not read ANYthing in particular about the jdl at that site, so cannot make a call on that part of it.

another good site is:

Really? They must be easily discouraged.

I think what I was eating made them think I was a barbarian. The locals eat some exotic stuff like wild game and stuff I will not go near like pork butts. At the time I was easting a NYC Deli lunch with
Turkey, Tounge and Brisket on Rye with Coleslaw and Russian Dressing.
I think it was the Chopped Liver or the tounge that made them freak out.

The locals will eat roadkilled possum or racoon, especially the very poor. Most people accept eating wild game or fish. For the poor this is often the way of stretching a budget. A NYC deli lunch is a frightening thing to an outsider.

Crazy Northwind went with me to a Thai resturant. She was amazed that I knew what I was doing. I tried to explain ethnic resturants of all types are common in NYC, but there is no common frame of reference to a person that percieves Burlington as the big city.

I can remember being in San Diego in 1980 and someone thrusting out a free copy of Dianetics at me. On my flight home I see it was written by one of my favorite sci-fi authors and I assumed it was sci-fi. Imagine my disappointment reading the bloody thing on the plane. When I woke up we were already in Detroit.

"They are also very rich, manipulative and SMART!!"

Much like the Saudi's huh.

I find it interesting that in all cults it is the rich and so called smart who fall prey to their assinine ideas.

As for me I will stick with just being common and using common sense.

I knew the answer wasn't going to be Islam.
Too obvious.

I really thought the answer was either Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons.
I'm surprised that Scientology has become big enough to be such a nuisance.

beakerkin said...

AC

I must be losing my touch if everyone knew it wasn't Islam. The Jehovas Witness and Mormons prostelytize and get under people skins. They mostly do not get above the annoyance level into actual criminality.

It is okay to slander Christians but write actual Islamic history and the far left throws a fit. The
Duck is a prime example of this idiocy. However as a Communist he is devoid of higher intellect.

One day, when Americans get around to introducing Western Civilization to the continent of Europe, such oddities as Scientology and socialism will be cast aside as the mindless pursuits that they are.
