My problems with Dershowitz

Prof Dershowitz is a decent enough man but he tends to lump people togetherfor no reason. He lumps Chomsky, Kahane, Jesse Jackson, Pat Buchanan and Norman Podhoretz into a group of people he disagrees with. He is fairly tough on all of them but lets look at this a bit more coherntly.

Norman Podhoretz is a main stream political figure and does not belong with the rest of the cast. One can disagree with Podhoretz or Dershowitz and regognize that they are well intentioned.

Pat Buchanan is a classic anti-semite who runs to defend every Nazi war criminal. His well known history is a disgrace to the GOP. However, he does not belong in the same group as Jesse Jackson or Chomsky.

Rabbi Kahane is not someone I have ever admired or been sympathetic with. His notion of a religious State would be a disaster. However the exodus of far left Chomsky types would be the only good benefit. People may disagree with Kahane but the reality of endless war is also insane.

Jesse Jackson is an anti-semitic fraud whose financial shakedowns should have landed him in the slammer a long time ago. Jackson is a Communist apologist for Cuba, the late Yasser Arafat and any Communist or Muslim thug whose anti- American venom he shares. His excuse for his anti semitic idiocy is that Jews agree with him. Jacson leaves out the fact that these " Jews " are Communists like himself.

Jackson's payments to his mistress should have been investigated. How did Jackson's kids just happen to get a Budwieser distributorship? His shakedowns of corporations are well known and border on extortion.

Lastly there is the poster boy for everything wrong in Academia. Noam Chomsky is a linguist whose mediocre works should remain there. His behavior with witnesses from Cambodia and defending Holocaust deniers should have got him fired and ostracized.
Instead he speaks before padded rooms in Universities and on mindless forums where his duplicity is never challenged. He will appear on Democracy Now and get questioned by a comotose sycophant. He will not appear on a forum with Dr Monica Crowley who would embarass him.

His treasonous seditious musings are little more than University gas. Lets see corporate media is a joke when his worthless books are found everywhere and are sold via Univerity decree. Leave it to a political hack who has benefited from Communist domination of Social Science Departments and has never sold almost zero books on skill to complain about corporate media.

Pat Buchanan is one of the foremost promoters of the Jewish Necon conspiracy to start the Iraq war. He also defends every Nazi war criminal with uniformity. He has also repeated some stupidity from Holocaust deniers. The fact that a busload of kids was suck in a tunnel in DC for hours has zero relevance to Gas chambers except in the minds of cranks.

In all fairness he does not belong with the Jackson and Chomsky. He has never betryed his country or served as an apologist for an on going genocide. Even Buchana's critics do not claim he is personally corrupt.

"Pat Buchanan is a classic anti-semite who runs to defend every Nazi war criminal. His well known history is a disgrace to the GOP. However, he does not belong in the same group as Jesse Jackson or Chomsky."

Are excusing Buchanan's vehement defense of Nazi war criminal John Demnanyuk?

His urging of President Reagan to visit the Bitburg cemetary where Nazi's are buried??

His praise of Hitler???

Beaker, you are a classic Uncle Jake (a Jewish Uncle Tom).

You make every excuse for white Christian anti-semites and cheaply attempt to characterize criticism of Israel by blacks and Jews you hate as "anti-semitism".

It's pathetic.

Mel Gibson says "Fuckin Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world" and you shrug, but Al Sharpton says "diamond merchants" and you have a fit.

I'm actually starting to feel sorry for you.

How did Jackson or Chomsky betray their country?

And when did either one defend Nazi criminals????

EARTH TO BEAK.

Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith and Kristol WERE the architects of the Iraqi war.

Robert Bayn asks "what makes Pat Buchanan an anti-semite?"

THIS DOES.

Buchanan referred to Capitol Hill as "Israeli-occupied territory."
(St. Louis Post Dispatch, 10/20/90)

During the Gulf crisis: "There are only two groups that are beating the drums for war in the Middle East -- the Israeli defense ministry and its 'amen corner' in the United States." ("McLaughlin Group," 8/26/90)

In a 1977 column, Buchanan said that despite Hitler's anti-Semitic and genocidal tendencies, he was "an individual of great courage...Hitler's success was not based on his extraordinary gifts alone. His genius was an
intuitive sense of the mushiness, the character flaws, the weakness
masquerading as morality that was in the hearts of the statesmen who stood in his path." (The Guardian, 1/14/92)

Writing of "group fantasies of martyrdom," Buchanan challenged the
historical record that thousands of Jews were gassed to death by diesel exhaust at Treblinka: "Diesel engines do not emit enough carbon monoxide
to kill anybody." (New Republic, 10/22/90)

Buchanan's columns have run in
the Liberty Lobby's Spotlight, the German-American National PAC newsletter and other publications that claim Nazi death camps are a Zionist concoction.

Buchanan called for closing the U.S. Justice Department's Office of
Special Investigations, which prosecuted Nazi war criminals, because it was "running down 70-year-old camp guards." (New York Times, 4/21/87)

Buchanan was vehement in pushing President Reagan -- despite protests-- to visit Germany's Bitburg cemetery, where Nazi SS troops were buried.

At a White House meeting, Buchanan reportedly reminded Jewish leaders that they were "Americans first" -- and repeatedly scrawled the phrase
"Succumbing to the pressure of the Jews" in his notebook.

Buchanan was credited with crafting Ronald Reagan's line that the SS troops buried at
Bitburg were "victims just as surely as the victims in the concentration camps." (New York Times, 5/16/85; New Republic, 1/22/96)

After Cardinal O'Connor criticized anti-Semitism during the
controversy over construction of a convent near Auschwitz, Buchanan wrote: "If U.S. Jewry takes the clucking appeasement of the Catholic cardinalate as indicative of our submission, it is mistaken. When Cardinal O'Connor of New York seeks to soothe the always irate Elie Wiesel by reassuring him
'there are many Catholics who are anti-Semitic'...he speaks for himself. Be not afraid, Your Eminence; just step aside, there are bishops and priests ready to assume the role of defender of the faith." (New Republic,
10/22/90)

The Buchanan '96 campaign's World Wide Web site included an article
blaming the death of White House aide Vincent Foster on the Israeli
intelligence agency, Mossad -- and alleging that Foster and Hillary
Clinton were Mossad spies. (The campaign removed the article after its existence was reported by a Jewish on-line news service; Jewish Telegraphic Agency, 2/21/96.)

In his September 1993 speech to the Christian Coalition, Buchanan
declared: "Our culture is superior. Our culture is superior because our religion is Christianity and that is the truth that makes men free." (ADL
Report, 1994)

Lets start with that great conservative Howard Dean. " Any mention of Israel or Jews being responsible for the Iraqwar is anti semitic. We have established your credentials in the area long ago.

Who accused Jackson of defending Nazi thugs? He merely is an apologist for every Communist and anti American government on the planet. Reading comprehension is not your strong point.

Obviously you seem to comment on the articles at FPM and not read them. Chomsky's defense of Holocaust deniers, statements in Vietnam and calling eyewitnesses to Pol Pot's bloodbath liars are known everywhere. This blog is not a special ed class.

Where was Sharpton even mentioned in this post or Gibson? Gibson was drunk and is not a Communist like Jackson. Nor have any of his comments ever instigated murder.
You can look at the Freddy's Fire in Harlem at your convenience. You may also put up the slander of Steven Pagones. Sharpton knew Tawana was a fraud but slandered an innocent man.

But YOU said that Buchanan didn't belong in the same group as JACKSON and Chomsky!!!!!

Presumably as an anti-semite, that is.

I know you didn't MENTION Sharpton or Gibson but you DO regard Sharpton as an anti-semite.

NO?

And you make excuses for Gibson.

"Reading comprehension is not your strong point."

And OBVIOUSLY, consistency isn't yours.

Lets see a roasted drunk makes comments about Jews. Then we have Sharpton talking about White Interlopers moments before a store was burned down by followers. One can look at Sharptons record with ease and nobody has accused him of being drunk or honest.

Lets see running around rationalizing the crimes of Arafat
and Castro would tend to out rank the historical vulgarity of Buchanan who I am clearly no fan of. By the way who appointed Chomsky or Jackson to interfere in foreign affairs?

uptownseteve said...

beaker,

You STILL haven't explained why Buchanan doesn't belong in the same (anti-semitic) group as Jackson or Chomsky.

Or how Jackson and Chomsky betrayed their country.

Heck, Jackson negotiated the release of an American naval officer from terrorists.

I'd say that's showing LOYALTY to your nation.

The Persecution of the Palestinians

by Patrick J. Buchanan

“Why do they hate us?” So stunned Americans asked, after 9/11, when we learned that across the Arab world, many were saying, “The Americans had it coming.”

For a textbook example of why we are hated, consider Gaza and the West Bank. There, a brutal Israeli/U.S.-led cutoff in aid has been imposed on the Palestinians for voting the wrong way in a free election.

Immediately after Hamas’s victory, Israel halted the $55 million a month the Palestinian Authority received as its share of tax and customs revenue. Israel demanded Europe and the U.S. also end all aid to the PA until Hamas renounces terror, recognizes Israel, and disarms.

President Bush, though he was conducting a worldwide crusade for democracy and had urged that the Palestinian elections be held and Hamas participate, obediently complied. For months now, U.S. and European aid to the PA, half its budget, has been halted.

The early returns are in. “Surgeons at Gaza’s biggest hospital,” says the Financial Times, “have suspended non-essential surgery for lack of sutures, laboratory kits and anesthetics.” Environmental protection agency workers have no money for petrol to monitor sewage and industrial waste entering the water supply. Some 150,000 civil servants, 60,000 of them armed security personnel, have gone unpaid for months.

Supermarkets have to extend credit to customers who have no money for food. The Washington Post relates an incident that gives a flavor of what is happening.

“In Gaza’s gold market Monday, Nahed al-Zayim stared at the wedding ring her husband, a Palestinian police officer, gave her six years ago. She had placed it on a glass counter offering it for sale, joining several other wives of public employees who had not been paid in two months.

“Her head covered by a black veil, Zayim said she needed the proceeds from her ring to buy diapers and milk supplements for her three children, including Hazem, 4, who tugged at her tunic in the afternoon bustle. ‘This is the last one, we have no more,’ Zayim, 28, said of her ring.”

Woodrow Wilson called sanctions “the silent, deadly remedy.” Its victims are always the sick, the elderly, the women, and the children.

In March, the World Bank predicted the aid cutoff would lead to a 30 percent fall in average personal incomes among the Palestinians. The bank now considers that prediction “too rosy” and expects “the worst year in the West Bank and Gaza’s recent dismal economic history.”

Already, violent clashes have broken out between Hamas and Fatah. There is a danger of collapse of the Palestinian Authority, chaos, and a need for the Israeli army to intervene anew to restore order. Finally, May 9, under European pressure, the U.S. relented and a trickle of aid began to flow.

Query: who, besides al-Qaeda and recruiters of suicide bombers, can conceivably benefit from persecuting the Palestinian people like this? Does President Bush or Condi Rice think the Palestinians will respect an America that did this to their children, after we urged this election, called for Hamas to participate, and preached our devotion to democracy?

“The aid cut-off appears to be increasing anti-U.S. sentiment here,” writes the Post’s Scott Wilson, quoting 33-year-old pharmacist Mustafa Hasoona: “The problem is the West, not us. If they don’t respect democracy, they shouldn’t call for it. We are with this government we elected. I voted for it.”

According to the Financial Times, Hamas is winning converts for refusing to buckle. Said Khalil Abu Leila, a Hamas leader, “They have misunderstood the Arab mentality. As long as the pressure increases on Hamas, the more popular it will become.”

The White House says we don’t negotiate with terrorists. But when we had to, we did. FDR and Truman summited with Stalin at Yalta and Potsdam. Nixon met with Mao in Beijing. Kissinger negotiated with the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese at Paris. Bush I allied with Assad in the Gulf War. Clinton had Arafat to the White House too many times to count.

Rabin and Peres shared a Nobel Prize with Arafat. Netanyahu gave him Hebron. Barak offered him 95 percent of the West Bank.

Bush’s agents negotiated with the architect of the Lockerbie massacre to persuade Colonel Khaddafi to give up his WMD. In 2004, Bush’s men called it a victory for Bush diplomacy. Khaddafi’s regime had been at the top of the State Department’s list of state sponsors of terror.

The purpose of U.S.-Israeli policy today is to punish the Palestinians for how they voted and to force Hamas to yield or to collapse its government. How does such a policy win hearts and minds for America?

Terrorism has been described as waging war on innocents to break their political leaders. Is that not a fair description of what we are doing to the Palestinians? No wonder they hate us.

beakerkin said...

You would be wrong as his efforts were clearly intended to create damage to the Reagan administration. He was neither appointed or asked to intervene in US foreign policy.

Buchanan's crimes fall mostly into the past.

Chomsky and Jackson's aiding and abeting Communist Thugs and terrorists is in the present. Moreover there is no accusations of any financial misdeeds on the part of Buchanan. Nor has Buchanan ever needed accademic commisars to pitch his mediocre books.

uptownseteve said...

beaker

This is ridiculous.

There are Republicans being indicted and charged for financial misdeeds as we speak.

THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE.

You asserted that Pat Buchanan should not be put in the same 'anti-semitic' group as Jackson or Chomsky.

Why not??

Did you read the list of anti-semitic Buchanan quotes I produced???

uptownseteve said...

"Lets start with that great conservative Howard Dean. " Any mention of Israel or Jews being responsible for the Iraqwar is anti semitic."

I blame neither Israel nor the Jewish Community for the Iraqi war.

Indeed, I know many principled Jewish people who recognize the immorality and criminality of the Iraqi invasion.

However the fact remains that there was a neo-con cabal within the Bush Administration spoiling for aggression and nation building in the ME and used the 9/11 attack as the selling point.

THAT IS A FACT.

The same category as WHAT?

Obviously Buchanan is a conservative and Jackson is a liberal but their views on the conflict in the Middle East seem to be convergant.

And I would venture to say that Jesse Jackson has never expressed admiration for Hitler, defended Nazi war criminals or questioned the legitimacy of the Jewish faith.

If you don't like Jesse Jackson that's cool.

But you CAN'T, as beaker pathetically attempts to, wrap the charge of "anti-semitism" around Jackson's neck and then excuse Buchanan's anti-semitic statements merely because you agree with him on immigration.

CAN YOU?

You are full of crap. Number one the Jooo/Neocon gambit is the standard line repeated by Communists. The excuse that well known Jooooos repeat the same BS is mentioned by Dershowitz as Jackson's excuse. The fact that the Jews he chooses to cite as authorities are actual Communists like himself is typical.

Nobody has alleged any criminal behavior on the part of Buchanan.
Buchanan does not shake down companies nor use a public tax exempt charity to fund his misstress and their illegitamate daughter. Nor has Buchanan violated US law by engaging in foreign policy, notably promoting terrorists and Communist thugs.

Buchanan should not be compared to Jackson or Chomsky. You may not have a problem with law breaking and promoting terrorism, Communism
or Holocaust denial, but te rest of the world does.

Mr Beamish may be closer to reality
than you. What type of Conservative runs around with Dr
Lenora Fulani. Fulani is a neocommunist far left anti-semitic moron.

he does not clutter the board. Nor has the Duck ever lied about anything. Unlike you we do not obsess about race.

BTW, what have I posted specifically that could be described as "traitorous"?

Pat Buchanan is a Catholic who defends his faith from unfair and bigoted slander - not any different from what Jews do.

He defends people who are innocent. Sadly from the Jewish point of view - all Catholics are guilty.

As far as my words on the Catholic Church you will have to read the blog more carefully. I know plenty of people who bash the Catholic church but they are not Jews.

Well since Demjanjuk was acquitted of "crimes against humanity" it appears to be that anyone who is Catholic and Croation deserved to be hanged regardless.

There have been many discussions of Hiwi's on this blog and it is apparent that you are grasping at straws. Anyone who served as a camp guard or commited crimes against humanity should pay for their crimes. Where you extrapolate that that means all Croatians is unknown but nothing that has appeared in this blog.

John Demjmanjuk was a Ukrainian as is my family. Your comments are absurd and remember nobody was forced to work as a Concentration camp guard.
