Into the Hot seat with FB Jones

When Warren and I started blogging about a year ago we were a small group. Our circle of readers has expanded widely . I never imagined this blog would grow to its current size. Richard Poe once told me if your site grows your ideal and rules may have to change with the size. My values of open forum and free speech have remained unchanged.

Enter into the hot seat FB Jones a new member of our family. I am always anxious to lend a helping hand to upstarts. However the best model for how to build a huge audience is Always on the Watch. The growth of her blog manages to amaze me. If some of the missing family members ( Jason Pappas and Esther) could find the time to introduce themselves it would be greatly appreciated.

Doing an interview for a new blogger is a challenge because I do not have a large body of work or history to work with. If this segment does not meet your expectations the fault is strictly mine.

New blogger questions
1 Most bloggers wrestle with the issue of ratings vs community. I look foward to the familiar names and view most of my long term readers as a second family. Yet I am also aware that some subjects are ratings duds. Is your goal to have large ratings or to be part of a community ? Always on the Watch does both excellently , so it can be done.

2 Do you have a specific question or questions you would like to ask our more experienced bloggers ?

3 Every blog has a focus and some are always evolving. I started out as a comedy blog
and some of you think I never left my roots. The best advice I can offer is be yoursef and have fun. What type of blog do you envison and what type of focus do you plan on.

General
4 Describe your taste in music ? Is it a safe bet to assume we will not hear Johny Mathis on your blog ?
5 What sports do you watch ?
6 Do you hunt or fish
7 Do you drive a motorcycle or off road vehicle ? Drummaster will tell you I drive off the road because I am a lousy driver. We drove through a Cornfield and were surprised to find Corn in the center.

Crime
8 What are your views on Capital punishment ?
9 Are we serious about Corporate theft ? Should people who embezle companies and Unions serve as long as bank robbers.
10 Should we take Identity theft more seriously ?

Energy
11 Are you in favor of more domestic energy production ?
12 What are your views on Nuclear energy ?
13 Should we build more refineries ?

Religion
14 What are your views on school prayer ?
15 Are you bothered by a Menorah and a Christmas tree in a Park ?
16 Are you in favor of school vouchers ?

Cuisine
17 The locals in Vermont eat huge breakfasts I jokingly call a Toe tag Special. What do you eat for breakfast ?
18 Mexican or Itlalian food

Entertainment
19 Would you go to a family film like Shrek or The Incredibles
2o What Genre of films appeal to you ? Action, Western , Gangster films or other
21 Did you see The Last Temptation of Christ ? What are your thoughts on that picure ?

Way out there
22 Choice of one Corvette or Ford Explorer
23 Do you own a Lamb skin coat
24 Do you play a Musical Instrument
25 Are adults who eat Kids cereals normal ?

New blogger questions
1 Most bloggers wrestle with the issue of ratings vs community. I look foward to the familiar names and view most of my long term readers as a second family. Yet I am also aware that some subjects are ratings duds. Is your goal to have large ratings or to be part of a community ? Always on the Watch does both excellently , so it can be done. I am more concerned with having community. I like having an individual role with in the group. I like to know where I belong. I have not been to all of the blogs in this group. I just want mine to not be a repeat of someone elses. I want it to be personal and at the same time piss liberals off!

2 Do you have a specific question or questions you would like to ask our more experienced bloggers ? Why does my right side bar drop down when I add stuff to it. Why does my blog give me so many problems.

3 Every blog has a focus and some are always evolving. I started out as a comedy blog
and some of you think I never left my roots. The best advice I can offer is be yoursef and have fun. What type of blog do you envison and what type of focus do you plan on. Mostly christian topics first. Politics are of my second concern. Thirdly books, music, and food.

General
4 Describe your taste in music ? Is it a safe bet to assume we will not hear Johny Mathis on your blog ? Come to my blog I will be playing choice selections from my favorite bands, and some of my stuff.
5 What sports do you watch ? Some hockey.
6 Do you hunt or fish? fish
7 Do you drive a motorcycle or off road vehicle ? Drummaster will tell you I drive off the road because I am a lousy driver. We drove through a Cornfield and were surprised to find Corn in the center. Nope.

Crime
8 What are your views on Capital punishment ? It is too easy of a way out. I do however think that if we got people through the system a lot faster, and executed them while the crimes are fresh in our minds. There would be alot less violent crimes being commited from fear of the death penalty. But I am for it still.
9 Are we serious about Corporate theft ? Should people who embezle companies and Unions serve as long as bank robbers. yep.
10 Should we take Identity theft more seriously ? Well I am at a negative net worth right now. They can have mine. I think we need to prosecute the heck out of the ones that get caught.

Energy
11 Are you in favor of more domestic energy production ? yes every kind.
12 What are your views on Nuclear energy ? More More More
13 Should we build more refineries ?No. corn fuels and nuclear. The midwest would be as weathly as the middle east. I am from corn country, we need money up there!

Religion
14 What are your views on school prayer ? As long as it not interfearing with class activities. And one group is not showed favortism over another. 15 Are you bothered by a Menorah and a Christmas tree in a Park ?no we need more of both. I am bothered by people who are scared of it affending someone.
16 Are you in favor of school vouchers ?I am in favor of anything that gives power to the parents and less to the government. We need to stop letting the government control our education.

Cuisine
17 The locals in Vermont eat huge breakfasts I jokingly call a Toe tag Special. What do you eat for breakfast ? Depends on what I have. or what diet I am on. grapenuts or shredded wheat. I am low carbing it right now, so I eat a lettuce wrap at work when I get there at 2:00am.
18 Mexican or Itlalian food mexican. Although I eat laotion. heehee.( there is a bigger joke here if anyone speaks laotion. if not I will tell you in private on my blog.)

Entertainment
19 Would you go to a family film like Shrek or The Incredibles? I don't go to movies unless the words "Star Wars" appear somewhere in the title.I do like family movies like those.
2o What Genre of films appeal to you ? Action, Western , Gangster films or other. Comedy/horror
21 Did you see The Last Temptation of Christ ? What are your thoughts on that picure ? No but I hear it is tripe.

Way out there
22 Choice of one Corvette or Ford Explorer Ford explorer. I am not a sports car kinda guy. I drive a 1995 paid for park ave.
23 Do you own a Lamb skin coat. No, but I would.
24 Do you play a Musical Instrument Bass, guitar, sing a little, drum a little.
25 Are adults who eat Kids cereals normal ? Yes, or my wife is a nut job.

I love kids cereal. I just can't handle all the sugar. It goes right to my thighs. I need to look my best. My wife is hot, so the least I can do is not get to fat.

F.B. Jones,
I really like your views on energy.
I also think that the natural gas (methan, buthan) can be used to power our combustion engines instead of petrol.

Beamish approves sugar-frosted shredded wheat for breakfast. Makes you regular, you know.

I knew it was a matter of time before bloggers gave in to crass commercialism.

Who's your corporate sponser Jacob?

J.M. Seals said...

They have got to all of us. there is no hope. I must eat shredded wheat.

nanc said...

i don't eat cold cereal. oatmeal with loads of butter and brown sugar to counteract the heart healthy aspect of the oatmeal. one must have balance. it's that whole feng shui thing i learned from fern. his links are alphabetized...

p.s. at first i thought it was obsessive compulsive disorder. there is a difference.

J.M. Seals said...

feng shui is a must. I live with a certain amount of disorder. So it is important to me to have a little obsessive compulsiveness.
It is of great use in pastry and other cooking. It goes far beyond order.

i am suprised no one has commented on my laotion joke. I know one is obvious. The onther one isn't. I try not to be foul, but sometimes I can't resist.

nanc said...

how can we fault you for the laotian jokes when we laugh at ourselves? the only people who take these kinds of jokes seriously are those who CANNOT take a joke - think about it!

my dear departed father, of lakota heritage, used to go into diners and ask the waitress, "do you have any indian in you?" she'd usually reply, "no." to which he'd respond, "would you like a little!"

if a person cannot laugh, they are effectively incapable of much else i always say.

J.M. Seals said...

My real joke to that is this: I said Hee Hee. That is not a laugh. That is the loation word for the female reproductive organ.
Question 18 is the one in question, pardon the redundancy. for your quick reference.

nanc said...

i knew that already!

hee hee - that's a much better word for it!

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

oatmeal with loads of butter and brown sugar

Beamish approves this too.

with whole wheat toast and scads of butter to counteract the heart healthy effects of the grain. balance...

No just one hee. I am a faithful husband.
