The return of Earl

I took Earl back in because it is expected to rain all week. This morning he hid when I got up. It seemed Earlwas right as it is snowing again and on the interstate there is no visability at all. I missed my exit but as there is a hairpin turn I was not too upset.

Earl was at the door looking for food as usual. I boiled some shrimp that I save for such moments. Who needs to forage when hot meals are provided. Northwind is not to happy about Earl being around again. He is amusing but needs to be outside when it gets warmer and drier.

You've got a soft heart for a cold, wet nose. Face it beak, he's your cat now.

Major problem as Earl hissed at Northwind. Apparently, she wanted the boiled shrimp so I told her to switch plates. Bad idea, I offered to go back out in the storm., but got the cold shoulder.

If that is what she wanted she could have boiled it herself.

Once it warms up Earl is only seem around feeding time. He will visit me in the park if I have food between meals.

Muse Do not rub it in.

FJ When it warms up he will be outside. For now it is a food thing
as he got boiled jumbo shrimp, 1/4
of my prime rib and roast lamb.

I think Earl has that job. We now know why he doesn't touch dry food.

He also likes liverwurst and he can keep that.

The food was in the freezer and Northwind could have made it herself. Earl would have been quiet if he was given a couple.

Beak,
You cook shrimp for Earl? And surf 'n turf? Earl knows where the best food ticket is!

As far as cats are concerned, food = love.

Cats are excellent predictors of the weather--better by far than most meteorologists.

I have a bag of Jumbo shrimp in the freezer. On most nights he eats what I eat. He had some prime rib as I cut him some yesterday. On Monday he had lamb or roast chicken.

I was too tired to cook and returned with take out food. Boiling some shrimp is not a big deal. I still have some pime rib for him tonight. He likes warm food go figure.

I did bring back food for Northwind as well. She is usually content if there is beer. I gave her chicken or veal parm plate. I never imagined she would want the shrimp as well. Earl eats chicken and veal parm so all she had to do was cut off some and switch plates.

I never saw Earl hiss at me much less pull the claws out. He does get upset if I head butt him back.
He will be outside soon enough.

Cats are excellent predictors of the weather-- if you put them outside and they come back in wet, that means it's raining.

I couldn't believe seeing snow when I woke up this morning. Looks like we might have snow on Easter also.
I've got to get back to Miami!

AC-I live north of Miami by about 200 miles, we are going down into the 40's tomorrow night!
Beaker-You are still a mercy person, that is not a bad thing, as long as you keep the Northwind's in your life under control.

Earl does pretty well as he had prime rib.
