There is a genuine prospect of a military coup in Turkey. Part of advocating democracy is living with unpopular results. Islamism like Communism is ruinous to the future of any country that embraces it. The reality is that we should be watchful of a coup attempt. A military government in Turkey may also be more forceful in the Kurdish areas and create refugees into Iraq.

The Bush administration needs to borrow a page from the Reagan years. We need to help Contra movements inside Iran and Syria. The fact is that both regimes are providing arms and free passage to the insurgents. We need to create similar types of problems in both countries. The Iranian and Syrian Thugocracies may have to divert resources from the Insurgents and Narco-terrorist Hezbollah. The Azeris and Kurds want to be reunited across borders. The Baluch are yearning for independence
and have a greater case than the Pseudostinians. Even the residents of Brooklyn have a greater case than the Pseudostinians.

We also need to eliminate the last bastions of the far left once and for all. The far left has abused higher ed for too long.

1 Elimination of student loans for all Social Science majors with the exception of economics and psychology. History Majors with a minor in education should be eligible for loans.

2 Revamping the Liberal Arts base to include Accounting, Finance, Business Management
and Marketing. These classes are far more important than sociology.

3 Elimination of all government grants for victim studies research.

4 The creation of national standards for on line universities. On line Unversities need to compette on quality and there is a niche in the market for a Marx/Marcuse free University.

5 The elimination of tenure going forward. College Professors should not be protected anymore than any other employees. Let DePaul and MIT have to answer for the behavior of Professors who Jet set to Lebanon and endorse Narco-Terrorists. The Current system allows administrators to duck accountability. Free speech ends when you are using your position as an expert. Chomsky abuses MIT's reputation and the University should have recourse.

I'd also like to see the same for English majors.

BTW, here in Virginia, one cannot even begin teacher certification about the elementary-school level without having a separate major (English, History, Foreign Language, etc.). Majoring in education per se is for elementary-school teachers and for all school administrators. Typically, certification for administrators doesn't begin until graduate school.

Here's a personal anecdote....My 30-something cousin decided to take an online course from Kaplan to get an associate's degree so as to become a paralegal. No funds--she drank them up for years upon years--so she got a government loan. And still drinking, BTW. Anyhow, she started the courses, then went back to the bottle in a big way. She has now completely stopped taking her courses.

I tell the above anecdote to point out that government loans for education are abused by many. I'm sure that my cousin's is not the only case!

The chances of her ever paying back that government loan are quite small. I don't know if someone else in the family cosigned. Could well be.

AOW

English Majors should be allowed if
they are going to minor in education or publishing. It is probably the best precursor to a law degree.

Beak, I enjoy your rants on education. My guess is that you have no university education and haven't studied any political science or history outside of your local kahanist club. How close am I?

I think Congress has already authorized funding of Contra groups in Iran. I'm not sure about Syria, though.

I wouldn't fund many psychology programs if I were you, beak. I'd require all psychology students to pass a dozen or so of the Farmer's special Plato pre-requisites before being allowed to take Freud 101. That's where the Lefties have clustered (APA).

And Marxian economics should be a non-starter as well.

Beak, are you backing Segolene in the French elections?

beakerkin said...

Ducky

I did take a Poly Sci class with a Professor who was a professional not a Marxist hack.

Whomever the French elect is their concern. I do not stick my nose into other countries elections. I wish the Eurotrash obnoxious sorts would extend the same respect.

I enjoy your rants against Chomsky, Beak. I assume you hate him because he didn't fellate Likud, but whatever.

I assume you and your readers keep up with advancements in neuropsychology. Chomsky was instrumental in making the proposition that the thought process could be analyzed and understood. Right now we are learning that pure reason results in a stunted human being who cannot function. Inother words, emotion is absolutely critical. All your science is dubious without the arts and that involves a great deal more than some flimsy Platonist easthetic that limits art to mere mimetics.

Pity that you have such disdain for human potential.

beakerkin said...

Chomsky and potential should not be used in the same paragraph. His behavior has disgraced his institution. If he wants to represent himself as a scholar from MIT the institution should have the reourse to fire him. The tenure excuse protects weak administrators from doing their job.

Duck,
A college degree does not an intelligent individual make.

Ducky's here said...

No, but in Beaks case he disparages college so often that you wonder if he is running on envy.

Much of what he says makes little sense and he clearly doesn't understand Chomsky.

In Beak's world, any criticism of the Jewish State is cause for immediate dismissal.

LOL! I've already got that algorithm. It's WAY too simple for Chompsky. He's still studying whole language! LOL!

Ducky

Traveling to Lebanon and endorsing Hezbollah and making Israel/Nazi comparisons crosses the line. He should have been fired for his antics years ago. Tenure allows administrations to shirk their responsability.

I listened to your radio show w/AoW and the WC today, beak. You have a great radio presence. Are you ever going to enhance your web presence to include graphics? Your message only reaches half of my brain.

Ducky's here said...

Why can't he travel to Lebanon? Did that fat toad Sharon object?

beakerkin said...

Ducky

If he is going to go to Lebanon and endorse a Narco terrorist outfit that has killed Americans his employer should have the authority to fire him. He is representing himself as a MIT scholar. The administration should have the ability to fire employees who damage the reputation of the school. Tenure allows the administration to shirk its responsability.

When Finky gets dismissed it will be the Hezbollah trip and the smears of Weisel that do him in.

Bert Beakerambo is filming a new project. He is filming 0013 James Beakerkin licensed to kill progressives.

His film Barefoot and Toe Tagged in Union Squre Park will be out next month.

Finally, a summer blockbuster without any commie back-plot or transexual cowboys!

btw - beakerrambo isn't, you know, DC-DC or anything, right? ...NOT that that's bad, or anything...

More information about Turkey. Interesting situation developing there.

Beak, thanks for making the first post on my new blog.

Ducky has a small role in the film.
He discusses Mission to Moscow and Battleship Poetemkin and Beakerambo
has to shoot him to shut him up.

My Ducky must be getting torqued up for May Day.

Between posting a link to a picture at FJ's accusing Guiliani of bombing subways in London and making sure everyone knows he's an anti-Semite here, he barely had breath to convince us he's an idiot.

And he did anyway! Amazing!

Ducky's here said...

I don't much care for Potemkin. I like Strike! and Ivan the Terrible much better.
I also like Boris Barnet's films from that period, especially Outskirts.

"Barefoot and Toe Tagged in Union Squre Park" ... that is humerous however. What's the plot? First responders who die because Rudi Giuliani was too busy struttin' with his chippy to see that they had compatible communications euipment and a functioning command center?

Ducky's here said...

Oh what's the matter Beamish. Did I say something about the Likud stooges that bothered you?

Anti-semitic? Ouch, that really hurts.

beakerkin said...

Ducky Barefoot and Toe Tagged in Union Square Parl is the story of an average Joe with a speech impediment. He doesn't care for elitist treasonous progressives so
he commits his own version of class genocide.

It is a comedy in the tradition of Eating Raoul.

Ducky,

Anti-Semitism is only a part of your schtick. I understand it's all in faith to the leftist goal of convincing everyone on Earth that leftists are blithering idiots, but damn, you'd think you'd have convinced yourself by now. Why do we have to tell you?

Anonymous said...

Beak, is there any way to hear the radio show now? if so, could you email me and tell me, real slowly and specifically, how to do that? thanks!! z

Typically, recordings of the interviews are available for about a month.

I'm not comfortable in limiting or dictating which majors should get students loans. I would like to see a review on the tenure system. The present system eliminates accountability.
