I do not buy the Judy Regan anti semitism flap

There is a small scale battle in the media over the firing of Judith Regan. I have always liked Judy Regan and do not buy this one. Regan has been walking a tightrope and her latest book does a hatchet job on Mickey Mantle. Mantle is much loved figure and in no way deserves this type of abuse. The new Simpson book was certainly in bad taste but Kitty Kelley has made a career on such fare.

Regan is said to have blamed her firing on a cabal of Jews. When people are fired they sometimes say or do stupid things. Regan has no record of this type of behavior and allegedly was a hellion to work for. Having worked for similar types this is not a crime. I do not think there is substance to this charge. If she said it, this is not the reflective of a classy brilliant business woman who should move ahead and form her own company. A smart venture capatalist would be wise to get involved with an independent Regan books.

I do want to point out the media does have selective standards on this stuff. George Allen's comments from twenty years ago were relevant. However, Hillary Clinton's widely reported anti-semitic remarks drew no reaction. I do not buy Hillary's claim about embracing Mrs Arafat after her remarks about Israelis poisoning Psuedostinian drinking water.

Here's hping Judy Regan moves on to bigger and better things.

Beamish in 08, Ducky to Gitmo and the new John Brown Superfly the Progressive Dope Dealer headed to the blogosphere.

She's a firebrand, that's for sure, and is going after them with a vengeance.

Fry the right, give the left a pass--that's the way it's been as long as I can remember. One can often decide how to vote by voting the opposite of any media endorsement.

Steve

I would rather see her build her wn company and sme investent banker will offer her the shot. The question is will she be able to use FOX to pump book sales, probably not.

People who buy into Wing ideology often have selective hearing, i have seen it on both the left and right.

Calling people these bomb words like Anti-Semite, or Nazi, are often the result of uninformed, uneducated arguments, where people resort to claims that are just stupid, in most cases where i hear someone claim someone is a Anti-Semite, or someone is a Nazi, it usually turns out to be just nasty Politics.

Regan is an idiot! She's pissed because her act got canned. Anybody that attributes it to a "cabal" is a fool. Jews are their own worst critics. At the same time I get tired of the ambulance chasing the ADL does in the NAACP/CAIR style.

I think Regan's comments were misconstrued. I work in book publishing and I am fairly sure that a bright lady such as herself wouldn't have said 'Jewish cabal' especially since her boss is Jane Friedman. I've met Jane and you wouldn't want to mess with her.

That said, the OJ book was a baaaaad idea. Very bad. BUT! BUT! She had to have had approval from the TOP before signing it. No one works in a vacuum in this industry.

Judith Regan is a business woman and the First amendment protects her right to be tacky. It does not protect Code Pink's sedition in Falujah.

Nor does the First amendment say that the public can not react to offensive speech. Anytime John Brown goes within two miles of an airport or says the word airport he should be cavity checked as a security hazzard.
