House of cards

I do not like to post on economics as the posts tend not to interest many. There is our idiot savant flat earth Duck who still thinks Marx is a valid model. There is a jihadonomics as certain Muslims feel it is their divine right to exact tribute. This sounds like a protection racket out of a grade D mafia script.

Our enemies Commies and Jihadis are placing their future on an economic falacy. Oil is a comodity that fluctuates in price just as Wood, Steel and Orange Juice. The myth
is that oil prices can shoot up forever in a straight line. The problem is that it can not. Rises in the price of oil mean that wells and oil fields that are not viable now become realistic alternatives. At 75 dollars a barrel Canadian Oil Sands are viable.

The greater the increase in the price of oil the quicker the market forces will react with an alternatives. The Saudis are well aware of this as they may be evil but they understand markets. Hugo Chavez and the Iranians fail to understand how markets work.

Ultimately both of our enemies have placed a bet that in the long term is unwinable.
The forces of Jihad are also counting on a huge growth in population to force their will. Social services in Europe are being stretched by an aging population and people who expect handouts with no work. The United States is dealing with similar issues but ultimately hispanic Americans will and do blend in to our culture quite well.

The unwritten story of the series of protests was the organization by Commie front groups. These are the same front groups that our friendly local waterfowl Marxist claim do not exist. This is a later day version of Mafia there is no such thing. Right now there are companies that are exploiting illegal labor but the answer to the problemis genuine enforcement of rules that exist now. It is unrealistic to expect business owners not to tap and exploit these workers. However the answer to these problems require historic liberal responses that are far removed from the crop
of fellow travelers who call themselves liberals today. The response to the illegal alien situation must start with heavy fines for companies that hire illegals. Social services at the federal level for illegal aliens should be defunded. If MA or local municipalities want to house illegal aliens let them pay for it. The ensuing tax payer revolt will sweep every far leftist out of office.

Mr Beamish in 08, Ducky being stalked by Elmer Cheeney, 167 still a ratings zero and Socrasleaze keep looking a big surprise is on its way.

Ducky if you want to see a Commie look in the mirror. Why don't you and Weasie just step out of the Red closet.

We're here and red
like another 100,000,000 dead.

Communism is not an alternative lifestyle like being a Red Sox fan.
It is a genocidal way of life that is criminal in every aspect.

Ducky I am from NYC and probably know the ANSWER , Code Pink talking points better then the actual members.

The Commies and Jihadis are making a bet on the price of oil. A steep drop in the price of oil and Chavez gets dumped in a Coup by his staff.

Now if you were talking about the good Marx (Groucho) and recommending a movie (like Duck Soup) I’d bite. But unfortunately Daffy likes the evil Marx (Karl.)

I do not know why anyone takes a Marxist seriously on anything. I can not name an area that they have excelled in other then genocide.

Jason Pappas said...

I agree with the description of the problem but one of your proposed suggestions may make the situation worse. I’m referring to the “heavy fines for companies that hire illegals.”

The drawback with dealing with the problem after they are here (as opposed to securing the borders) is that a prohibition against hiring, like all prohibitions, creates crime. Most illegals will stay within the law but some will resort to crime if they can’t get jobs. This will only exacerbate the problem. Without stopping entry, all other measures will have harsh unintended side-effects.

Nice post Beak. If these commies ever passed Economics 101 they would know the difference between supply and demand. Strangly enough, it's the same vermin that blame the Oil Companies for the price of gas instead of blaming Bush, the corrupt congress and environmental wackos for the demise of the price of energy.
This isn't rocket science. I have my top ten Uptown rants posted on my site.

I don’t doubt you can stop people from hiring illegals but you’ll get a big spike in crime and turn the country into a police state. Keep America free by keeping it American.

We already have plenty of laws on the books, the problem is enforcement! But no, the polititions will continue to pass more laws to "prove" they are doing something about the problem. And pass laws, and pass laws, pass more laws...ad infinitum!

Oye! El pato idiota, you obviously KNOW JACK SQUAT about economics. The environmental lobbyests have been restricting oil refining capacity for the last 35 years. Why do you think we haven't built a refinery in over 30 years? Why do you think we have 3 or 4 different grades of gasoline? Why won't the wackos let us drill offshore? Or drill in ANWR? If they were holding back on capacity that would drive the price even HIGHER...(translates in LESS DEMAND)....less consumers, less driving and less profits.
You are brain-diseased by you communinist ideology. Keep on drinking the pond scum pato!

If America is so evil and imperialist, we'd own Mexico by now; instead, we squabble over whether it would offend the commies down south in Mexico and Venezuela to build a sorry chain link fence.

FLORIAN said...

Mexico needs to be annexed. They want to live here so badly--fine. We'll annex the country and make it a territory. This should have been done back in 1848. Too bad Winfield Scott decided not to run for President of Mexico back then, he would have won too.

He is obviously an economic ignorant otherwise he's make a bit more sense on the subject of oil and S&D.
The school of marxism doesn't teach you how to make a profit--it teaches you how to short-change the customers and population, it teaches you how to stock those grocery shelves to 1/10th capacity and overblow the prices. It teaches you that monopolies are the only thing available. It teaches you that 50% taxes are good. It makes every as poor as his food stamp neighbor, regardless of having a job.
I laugh at all these people who think Marx knew what he was talking about, especially since the populations of commie countries are fleeing those nations like a bat out of hell.

There will come a certain point where many countries will just not be able to afford oil. Supplies will rise and prices will fall.
I happen to think that high gasoline prices are the only thing that will motivate this country to remove itself of fossil fuel dependence. In the end, this could be a good thing for America as we are near or at the leading edge of technological advances.
China has mandated that cars must be able to achieve 43 mi. per gallon by 2008.
Time for the US to start taking measures.

robert said, "...how come conservatives don't really conserve much?"

which conservatives? this conservative family recycles EVERYTHING that does not get burnt! i've driven a 1993 ford escort wagon for nearly fourteen years (and a cherry suburban when i'm feeling the need). i recycle (by giving to charitable second hand stores) clothing, shoes and loads of other things. we thin the forest around us so the larger trees can gain more girth and some have tripled in diameter in six years.

so offhanded...that statement you made. please take it back.

most of the conservatives we know go at life in the same manner. what we don't do that the lefties do (as i think flo or someone else has pointed out) is burn custom homes down (elf), drive spikes into trees to keep them from being harvested (leftwing tree huggers), bring harm and hate to people who eat meat (peta) - i could go on, but i'm full and do not need another pie in my face.

nanc said...

well, robert - from what i've seen you'd not like for me to make a blanket statement like "ALL gay guys are limpwristed" or "you're ALL girlie guys" - you cannot lump all conservatives into the same batch of bread - i may be overreacting...but perhaps you'd just like to reword the statement?

if the statement is accurate of MANY conservatives, that's what you should have said. if that is what you should have said, then you would have taken it back. so my plea still stands.

nanc said...

well what on earth do you mean by that? "new age" conservatism? is that a new way of conserving? or a new age of conserving? all these labels are ridiculous!

i'd like for the conservatives here to weigh in on this issue and declare ways they have of conserving! come on and step up to the plate!

Heck Nanc- We do what you do! Recycle, consolidate trips, carpool whenever possible, give unused clothes, books, furniture and other things to groups that help the less fortunate. I drive a '95 Tahoe, it's our only vehicle and we need it for evacuations. We even recycle lumber and stuff like that, someone can always use it. If it's still usable and you don't need it, put it out for someone to take! Use fans to help move air so your a/c unit doesn't run so much. Hose off the condenser on hot days, every hour. Keep windows covered against the sun, plant more trees, use native plants. Keep some kind of ground cover so water doesn't just run off. Don't fill your closet with a bunch of cheap faddish junk that can't be worn more than a couple of times. Homeschool, textbooks are passed from child to child and family to family, also your not running around on a bus or going places everyday.

Who conserves? I mean seriously. I think we do need alternative energy solutions, such as ethenol or another biodegradable source for fuel in cars. Coal and Natural gas need to be slowly trimmed down and eventually eliminated as we move to more cleaner, safer and cheaper forms of fuel like Nuclear power. My company is about to begin digging up earth on two more nuke plants--what would really only cost $380 million to build is actually going to cost around $2.5 billion thanks to the environmental wacko lobby who want all these unnessary "safeguards" in place--when they don't know the first thing about nuke power efficiency and safety. And you know what? We pass that money difference over to the consumer--so now instead of consumers power bills increasing just 4-5% over 8 years--it's going to go up about 25-30% in the same amount of time!!!! NICE GOING ENVIRO-IDIOTS!! Does this sound like they care about the people? Same reason your gas is more expensive. All those damn regulations and different filtering grades of gas to meet "environmental controls". In a way it's necessary for automobiles though--I remember visiting Mexico City one time and my eyes burnt the whole time I was there. But the controls the Imperialist Federal gov't and enviro nuts put on Power companies is a joke. Little do they realise the consumer pays for it in the long run.

Beak,
I can supply the full list of communist organizations in the US.

This is just 1% of what's available:
Black Radical Congress (http://www.blackradicalcongress.org/)

Communist Party of USA (http://www.cpusa.org/)

Alliance Marxist-Leninist (http://www.allianceml.com/)

Heatwave Communist-Anarchist Federation (http://flag.blackened.net/heatwave/)

Workers Party, U.S.A (http://www.workersparty.org/)

Revolutionary Communist Party, USA (http://rwor.org/rcp-e.htm)

They all have one think in common in their policies: crippling American economy.
Energy policy (conservation) is a very effective way of doing just that.
On one hand you cripple the existing system on the other disallow to replace it with anything else (e.g. nuclear energy).
In OZ we are rapidly switching to natural gas.
As long as there is rotting organic matter there’s unlimited (very cheap & natural) supply of it,
burning is much, much cleaner than petroleum, and you don’t’ have to even change the exciting combustion engine to use it.

Does this mr. ducky ever make a point? Has he anything to offer but an ad hominem attack? I like the way he pretends omniscience by reading your mind and making wild accusation he has no way of knowing and therefore might as well have drawn from a hat. Then there's the old too-stupid-to-understand act as well. I'd like to hear him actually ANSWER an argument for once.

Getting after employers who hire illegals wouldn't increase anything but AWARENESS of what's going on. They have no business hiring people they know they can cheat and commit any abuse or crime against because these people don't dare go to law on them.

We are subsidizing these businesses by paying for social services for these people.

Environmentalist leaders are crooked as sin. They will never stop crying like Chicken Little, because if they ever did, they'd lose their reason to exist. Then these big-deal envirnomentalists who weild so much power they can shake-down and blackmail companies would have to go back to being ordinary citizens again. Which is why you can't put up a wind farm without them screaming that it'll bring the end of the world.

Drilling for oil and nuclear power are absolutely necessary. Among other things. We could plant corn from coast to coast and it wouldn't fill more than a tiny fraction of our need. It's about biomass, baby. There is no more ineffecient source of energy on the planet. Indeed, less than 1/10 of 1 percent of the sun's energy that goes into a plant ends up in the plant. And that's just the first great squandering in the process. Farmers aren't telling you that. Guess why? Biofuels are great but just a temporary and partial solution in the long process of switching over to hydrogen.

Conservation could slash our energy consumption. Clinton is right about that. We did it before, we can do it again. It's a matter of national security.

Rising oil prices are a blessing in disguise though. Yes, they ARE a drag on our economy. But our economy can handle the load. Rising oil prices will make alternative sources of oil and alternative sources of energy marketable. The Saudis do know this. They are playing it very close. Wait till somebody finds a cheaper way to do something -- their goose is cooked.

Then China and India will be at our door, buying from us instead of the Saudis.

Plus, we cannot trust the Saudi estimates -- so say the American experts who made those estimates -- of how much oil they have left. Saudi oil could run out any day. When the decline in production starts, it will offer little warning before the accessible oil is all gone. Well, not literally. But what's left would be way too expensive to get out of the ground. Meaning that American oil would be a good buy.

It also means we can't count on oil even being available in Saudi Arabia for long. So we must hasten to prepare for when the supply either runs out or becomes too expensive or is cut off some other way.

Our left-wing-nuts are socialists whether they admit it or not. You smell commies (broadly speaking) everywhere -- in the UN, activist groups, the left wing of the Democratic party. That's because they're parrots, so they can't hide their colors. They speak in go-around-come-around-lines that mark them as what they are, slogans. They knee-jerk react in the anti-American way to everything -- another unmistakable mark. They are very upset that the Soviet Union fell and screaming in denial of what that means. Funny, the Communist Chinese aren't such idiots. They saw the writing on the wall and ditched economic socialism. But not the European and American left. Their foreheads are composed of titaneum steel.
