The interview with Donal

Our next guest is new to the blogosphere and has started a new blog . Donal is still a key poster at FPM where I have chosen to leave. There are many good people there but David Horowitz has not made an effort to remove serial predators. Trolls are annoying but part of blogging. However predators posts under multiple aliases talk with themselves and infest boards. Recently a serial predator who is a pedophile in real life has attempted to gain acsess to this blog.We own our collective blogs and we all should be on the lookout for a serial menace from CA called Socrates. We should be careful and check our sitemeters and check the links as he has been known to steal identities.

Trolls and FPM
1 Donal I want you to explain what distinguishes an ordinary dissenter like a Ducky or a jerk like Uptown Steve from a Socrates ?

2 Uptown is on this blog tonight and did confess to writing the note to Leshawn Barber. I have always found him to be a huge bore and not well read. Uptown has called non Jews such as Hispano, Pointman, JBaumgart and yourself as Jews.

3 Recently the Weasel has invaded this blog and objects to my description of him as
an average Communist anti semite. Would you say this is accurate ? He has been pushing WTC conspiracy claims lately ?

4 What FPM posters would make good bloggers ? I would like to read a Northern Steve or Mike blog ?

5 You have dealt with a range of pests, predators and trolls what do you think motivates them ? I almost feel sorry for Weasie as he wants a board with a few readers. Predictably when he wanted to build an audience he comes here.

DU

6 Explain what DU is to our readers ?
7 What are progressives ? Is this the term Communists and Socialists hide behind ?
8 Do you find the posters at DU hate filled ? Have you seen conspiracy theories at DU ?

Israel

9 You are a non Jewish supporter of Israel. Does it seem like our trolls have an obsession with Israel and Jews ? I do not know if you remember a poster Murray Rothbard who blamed the Jews for 9-11 at FPM ?
10 Have you seen the cannard Zionist media at DU ?

General

11 We do a spoof of Rush Limbaugh's caller abortions known as troll abortion . What are your views on troll abortions and real abortions ?
12 Do you percieve a Utopian or totalitarian undercurrent in the environmental movement ? What are your views on the environment ?
13 What is your stance on Gay marriage ? I have found plenty of support for civil unions among the center right bloggers in this community. My own position is I am in favor of Civil Unions as marriage is a religious term. I do not want Ruth Bader Ginsburg or other lunatics from the far left defining my religious terms.
14 What is your view of the Second Amendment ? I find myself moving to the right on this issue.
15 Is the lefts fixation on gas, alcohol and cigarette taxes a slap in the face of the working poor and rural Americans. Have the Democrats lost touch with rural America ?

We seldom see the personal side of Donal at FPM other then her marriage and being a football fan. Let us ask some questions aout Donal tastes and interests.

16 What type of Music do you listen to ? Is Julio Englesias talented or comedic ? What do you think of Barry Manilow, Neal Diamond and ABBA ? I know for a fact that playing ABBA annoys hip hop fans. They enjoyed Dean Martin and Sinatra so that took the fun out of that joke.
17 What are your favorite movies ? Did you see Flight 93? What are your picks for the most over rated and under rated films of all time ? I thought the English patient was over rated and needed editing. I think the Quiet Man is under rated and my mother enjoys that film.
18 Do you watch Lifetime TV, Sex and the City or Desperate Housewives. I am amazed that people would watch some of that stuff. Lifetime TV seems to be all victims 24/7.
A typical movie stars Meredith Baxter Birney married to a creep who sleeps with her best friend played by Jean Smart with a predictable ending.
19 Are you a fashionista ? Do you pay attention to high fashion ? We have a running debate about people who wear plaid on this blog.
20 Do you have a particular writer you are fond of ?
21 Is there a coffee house subculture in Seattle ? What is their motto get gouged , get wired and get buzzed ? Do you pay $4.00 for a cup of coffee ?
22 Have you gone Whale watching in the Northwest ?
23 Would you rather go to a French resturant or a barbeque house.
24 Name your favorite catoon charachter ?
25 In yesterdays NY Daily News there was a picture of Paris Hilton kissing Bugs Bunny. Who do you think has a higher IQ Paris Hilton or Bugs Bunny ?

Mr Beamish in 08, Ducky to team with Elmer Fudd, 167 RIP and Socrasleaze aborted

You forgot one question for Donal.

How can she state that blacks have been "deleterious" to America and claim NOT to be a racist?

Robert Bayn said...

Beak, we will diagree somewhat on civil unions because Seperate but not Equal, has never worked. However i do support Civil Unions, because i believe it is part of the process to rights for the gay community, i disagree that Marriage is a religious term, it was being used long before Reliigous ideals came into place, rather it is contract term, but like most things, Religion will adapt it and than call it, it's own, Both religious and non-religious people get married, so that to me, loses any aspect that it is a religious term, especally in todays day and age, Marriage has little to do with Religion. I do laugh when i hear people say Gay Marriage is a threat to Marriage, because the same people hardly ever talk about the real threat to Marriage, DIVORCE!

beakerkin said...

Rob I respectfully disagree in that every major religion has strict rules about marriage. Marriage is often called a covenant that denotes a religious definition.

I am for Civil Unions but I want religious terms defined by theologians and not lawyers.

nanc said...

robert - in the bible, isn't marriage equated with "knowing" somebody? of course there are instances where it is spoken that "he took her for his wife" and other references to marriage. i've yet to see civil unions in the bible.

you're right about the threat to marriage. people just do not have the fortitude to stick it out and make it work anymore.

Mr. Ducky said...

Strict rules about marriage Beak? Some have strict rules about divorce.

At any rate, marriage is a civil institution. You go to the state to get a "marriage" license. Why should two gays be denied that license? Denial of equal protection, no?

Robert Bayn said...

Webster defines marriage as this:

a (1) : the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law (2) : the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage

No where does it state it is about faith or Religion, as i have stated prior, reliigon adapts it as its own, but it is a contract term, not a reliigous term, but we will have to agree to disagree on this one, because we see it very differently.

the merry widow said...

Ducky- The civil part came after the covenant part. Marriage goes back to the Garden of Eden, G*D didn't make a civil action but a covenant one! I'm sorry, but civil is temporal-temporary, covenant's only end point is death!
G*D does not accept same sex relationships, this does not reduce the humanity of the persons involved, but it is sin! And before someone blows a fuse, we all are sinners! BUT, G*D does not accept same sex relationships, no matter how loving or faithful. You can disregard G*D, but only for so long. I have worked with homosexuals and sex changed individuals, I reject no one, but if G*D says no, no it is. Sorry, I go with what the Bible says.

Rob

We agree to disagree as most religions have lengthy rules and regulations on marriage. Even tribal people denote the ocasion with religious overtones and the bartering of goods.

We both agree that the basis of law shoould be civil law. Any attempt to invoke Talmudic rule in the USA would be far more comedic then threatening. Most Christians accept this concept as well.

I think a Civil Unions are a fair compromise to a situation that is over stated. My life does not change if Civil unions are the law of the land . It is a fight that is largely pointless.

beakerkin said...

Duncy

Marriage is a religiously prescribed term. Licenses such as Drivers , Dogs have no such religious content. The issue is not equal protection but far left legal goons attempting to define religious terms.

Robert Bayn said...

Render unto ceasar what is Ceasar and unto God what is God's, one can keep their faith, and not be affected by same sex unions or marriage, if someone beleives it is a sin, don't marry or get civil unioned to someone of the same sex, pretty simple, no?

Robert Bayn said...

Beak, thanks for sidestepping my point, and that it is a contract issue, not a religion issue, Webster defines it as a contract not as a religious term, i think that is a pretty fair unbias source.

nanc said...

i'm curious as to how robert sees the symbolism of marriage in the bible such as G-d and israel, Jesus and the church, and a man and a woman - the song of solomon and book of hosea are a great place to start.

and i found an interesting piece on marriage:

http://www.swedenborgdigitallibrary.org/vismarr/intro.htm

i've read only the first chapter, but it seems quite definite on how the Lord sees relationships. i can find NO place in the bible that sanctifies unions between members of the same sex. as a matter of fact, i'm reminded of sodom and gomorrah and the days leading up to noah and the flood. i'm curious as to where the rules changed.

beakerkin said...

Rob

There are certainly contractual issue in many marriages. However even primitive societies do place a spiritual emphasis on the ceremony.

There is hope for Ducky as an Israeli woman has married a Dolphin. How long the process takes before waterfowl is eligible is unknown.

Robert Bayn said...

sodom and gomorrah had nothing to do with Homosexuals, i would encourage you to read up on the sins of these two cities, it's a false idea that they were destroyed for that reason, Noah and the Flood had nothing to do with with Homosexuals either.

Have the rules changed for those of faith? No, believe what you wish, but Faith should not define the laws of a nation of a many people, some who do not hold the same reliigous views others do, instead we must have laws for all the people, not just cater to those who have a certain reliigous view.

FLORIAN said...

I see we have some brain-dead analysis on marriage. Gotta love 21st century thought!
For all of you who think it's ok for 2 members of the same gender to marry, raise kids together, and that society is better because of it--tell me why?
Fact is (laugh if you want liberals), God created marriage--not men. Marriage was created, so that the circle of life continues. In no way, shape or form can two gender equal people create life--no matter how you spin it. The gay marriage arguement is laughable.
Plus, the Bible strictly condemns it (see Sodom and Gommorah, Leviticus, Deuteuronomy, Corinthians, Colossians).

Robert Bayn said...

beak, we will disagree there, but we do have one thing in common, we both support civil unions, it's important to find common ground in issues like this, because it can be so sensitive, both on a reliigous side and civil rights side.

FLORIAN said...

Robert writes "instead we must have laws for all the people, not just cater to those who have a certain religious view"

That's what is happening all around you. Open your eyes Robert. Your gay agenda people have won, but if you don't think Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of homosexuals--then you are blind and ignorant.
It's as clear as day in the texts why they were destroyed.
I love it when a pro-gay liberal tries to tell me about Biblical history and interpretation. LOL

Robert Bayn said...

God created Marriage? i must have missed that part in Genesis....Sodom was destoryed for a lot of reasons, but in the book of Kings it lists the sins of Sodom none being homosexuality, Leviticus contains Moses laws, most bible theologians understand the difference between God's Laws and Moses Laws, as do most Catholics. New Testament Verses are by Paul, who the early Church adapted as their leader, Paul condemened homosexuality.

In the end that has little to do with what is right for a free nation, that is not under Reliigous law, if we are under Reliigous Law, than we are no longer a democrarcy, but a Theocrarcy.

Robert Bayn said...

Gay agenda? rofl, i always laugh when people resort to that, not to mention your snooty attitude about how you think you know more about the bible, i guess because i'm a liberal, you better check that pride of your with your faith.

Robert Bayn said...

This will be my last comment on this, because its worthless to argue, about this, but i will leave the conversation with this:

(Ezekiel 16:49-50): Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food, and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy. Thus they were haughty and committed abominations before Me. Therefore I removed them when I saw it.

FLORIAN said...

Yeah Robert you missed a lot

FLORIAN said...

What were those abominations again?

beakerkin said...

Florian

I do not think it is the Gay agenda that is the question. On a human rights level Rob should be able to live in peace with the partner of his choice.

Now theological and civil laws are two distinct and seperate issues.
I do not see Civil Unions as anything other the governmental recognition of reality.

I certainly would not want a country that failed to recognize that gays should be allowed human dignity . Human rights are a serious matter for civil law. If we deny basic human rights to gays how are we any ddifferent then the nuts who want to impose Sharia on us.

nanc said...

i'm sorry robert felt the need to leave and that he must run from his sexuality, something i, as a heterosexual never have to do. i believe he is allowed human dignity as you do beak, but i disagree wholeheartedly with him and am sorry if i offended him. i have two gay cousins who i love immensely and without one i'd not had at least a semblance of a childhood.

but if he does come back, i'd like him to refresh his memory with Genesis 19:1-5, Romans 9:29 and Isaiah 1:9-11, and first Kings 14.

FLORIAN said...

I agree with you Beak on the civil unions deal. If Adam wants to marry Steve in a pink tootoo that's fine with me. So long as they keep their actions free from my eyes and ears, I have no problem with it. What I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH is people like him trying to tell me that God doesn't condemn this type of reprehenisble behavior. It's in plain text, black and white--that's all I have to say about it really.
Gays are human and should be treated with respect--absolutely, and I would hate to live under Sharia--which is why I applaud the new Dutch visa video for all new immigrants trying to live in Holland (muzzies must watch the "horror" of two gay men kissing).

the merry widow said...

What were the abominations?
Homosexual marriage does not help society, does it give anyone the right to hate? No, but every empire that has existed, fell not much after homosexuality became common place.

tmw

beakerkin said...

First of all I want to state that like Justin Rob was not always Gay.
Moreover while it is not my taste I do not disparage his choice of lifestyle.

On a practical level Gays should be able to live in peace like everyone else except. The fact that the person down the block has different proclivities doesn't change my life or anyone elses. I do know Gay couples in NYC who have been together for twenty years. They live fairly conventional lives go to Church and would be regarded as wholesome in all other categories of life.

There are plenty of bomb throwing Gay zealots who want to screach and
are just as hateful as the jihadis in their own right. Rob and Justin are not like that and I am proud to call both my friend.

My only issue with Rob is this rumor that I am the bufett Ninja is simply not true. I have too many bruises to be the martial artist at the VT buffets.

Robert Bayn said...

King James Version, lists the Sins of Sodom, newer version of the bible have adapted the 20th century christian idea that it was because they were gay, Sodom was destroyed for many reasons, but we seem to focus on one issue. The truth is we could debate this back and forth, but you won't change my mind, and i know i won't change your mind, so it's pointless to continue arguing, i look forward to Donal's answer, and i'm sorry beak, this got off topic, i should learn to keep my mouth shut, like i usually do.

As far as the Horror of two men kissing, i feel your pain the first time i saw a Woman naked.

beakerkin said...

TMW

I do not know if tolerance for gays was the reason the empires fell. There is a certain entropy in all systems.

On a practical level I support Civil Unions ( along with Rudy) as a recognition of reality.

I do agree with Florian about the in your face sexuality. However this is not exclusively a gay issue. There are plenty of tacky heterosexuals as well.

In the best of worlds Gays would rally in regular work clothes under one word dignity. Sadly this day will never occur and it is everyones loss.

beakerkin said...

Rob

One of the thngs I like about you is that you do speak your mind. Never apologize for standing up for what you believe. Dignity is a universal right.

Would you please tell Nanc that there is no evidence that I am the buffet Ninja .

Robert Bayn said...

I have to plead the 5th on that one, although i did see someone shooting french fries, was that you?

themerrywidow said...

Robert- Thank you for taking the time to volley this issue with me. Okay, we agree to disagree, that's cool by me! Now what evidence do you have that Beak is a buffet ninja? Has he done a flying Jackie Chan to reach the lo mein noodles? How many little old ladies has he wrestled for the last fried shrimp? Any cool kung fu moves on the crab rangoons? Inquiring minds want to know. Spill the dirt!

tmw

Robert Bayn said...

let just put it this way, i saw two old ladies fall to the groud holding their life alert buttons, with what seem to be strange orange feathers floating in the air.

beakerkin said...

Rob

I am not the buffet bandito of VT. If Iran Watch ever shows up we will solve this mystery. That smiling little old lady beat me to the shrimp literally.

nanc said...

hey - i didn't start it! and i don't recall saying anything about buffet ninjas - wth is that all about?

robert - i use the amplified which gives true hebrew, aramaic and greek text where needed. there is also a strongest strong's (the one the size of texas) at my fingertips at all times. G-d never changes no matter how people try to change the bible. nuff said on this issue from me...well, unless you bait me again!

nanc said...

hey - i thought this thread was about donal? when she shows, she may blow when she sees what a mess we've made of things - i'm outta here and you haven't seen me!

nanc said...

that guy "beakerpoop" at hank's is now picking on me! it's just a matter of time before hank puts up slam blogs for all of us. how thrilling!

beakerkin said...

Hank is a lowlife and guess what he has an audience of one. If Hank wants to play with Socrates let him. When he goes on FPM remind him that a person is known by the company I keep.

I am proud to be friends with 99% of the people who post here. Even Ducky and Uptown are not so bad. They do not misrepresent themselves and do have a certain honor that Hank and his pal Socrates lacks. The fact that Hank and Soc dedicate so much attention to me long after I left FPM is the sign of who is obsessed with whom.
It is fairly obvious who Meathead was and Jinny Lowe owes me an apology for her stupidity.

nanc said...

there is a strange obsession there. i noticed he deleted all of soc's vile posts. nasty that one.

beakerkin said...

The point is that Snow has an audience of one. He gets more traffic from my mentioning his site then otherwise. He has even posted links so I will get extra blogshare value.

If anything this demonstrates that Snow above all is stupid and a little man. Unlike Socrates if he had an issue he could come to this site and voice it. However I do watch the sitemeter and if he is connected with Soc it will show.

Courage and manliness were never his forte. I find it amazing that Socrates shows up right after Snow puts up the site. Maybe with the deleted posts he is understanding why all of us opose the Satanic one.

MissingLink said...

So where is Donal?

the merry widow said...

Rob- I'll bet he only does that sort of thing in surrounding states! Vermont is small and word would get around fast! But other states... Was he looking a little "thin" on top afterwards?

tmw

beakerkin said...

Felis she should be along any moment . I am going to do an interview with Uptown Steve as well. Contrary to popular opinion I do not hate Uptown. He is an Anti Semite but never misrepresents himself or lies .

FLORIAN said...

I wish I could interview uptown. I actually like the guy. He does have a sense of humour--though he can get pretty low sometimes. Would love to see his answers to your questions Beak--and maybe he can follow up with an interview on my page.

FLORIAN said...

Is Jinny Loewe a man or woman? She was Lobsterman?

nanc said...

i don't get it either, flo and am not sure i even want to know - i cannot imagine trying to spoof people into thinking i'm anybody else out in the www - it's difficult at best just being me. the games people play.

beakerkin said...

I share your opinion about Uptown his opions are loathsome but he is a lokeable guy. I find it odd that many of my detractors at FPM all seem to end up here. This is an odd turn of events as some mocked my jump from FPM to the blogosphere. Donal was supportive but not many others were.

Jinny Lowe is a man and posted under the name Lobsterman. This in of itself is not a big deal except for changing sex as many posters change names such as Sabuki who was Fiona.

I object to Jinny's arrogance and did not like her from the first moment. She ran arround acusing me of being Socrates. Socrates aliases never attack Soc they spend time fawning and are known for their lame posts devoid of content like Professor Meathead.

There are others like Nanc who do not share my opinion of Jinny and I respect that. However Jinny clearly knew who Meathead was and helped him play this scam.

FLORIAN said...

Jinny is arrogant I will concede that point. I never quite understood her in your face attitude either. So Jinny is a Man then?
As for Socrates, we all know he's a few french fries short of a happy meal--and I'll leave that alone.

the merry widow said...

Nanc- I agree, I can't wrap my mind around someone constantly presenting themselves as different people. I like myself, why would I want to be anyone else? Is that the key? They hate themselves so much? At least I know who I'm looking at in the mirror every day!

tmw

nanc said...

well, whether jinny be a man or a woman, sometimes i agree with her/him and sometimes not and don't have a problem in the world letting her/him know. she did call me a slut once when i made a pointed statement to mike, but immediately e-mailed me with an apology. i do not reject apologies, but am thereafter apprehensive with my communication with that person. empty apologies mean nothing to me; i'd rather never be apologized to.

Elmer's Brother said...

One last comment if you please on the subject of homosexuality..I think like Dennis Prager has said that clarity is better than agreement. We as Rob has said will never agree. I and others for Biblical reasons, but understanding one another is important.

FLORIAN said...

Well Beaker! We're all waiting on Donal. Perhaps she's a bit misinformed about the timing?
In anycase I checked out Hank's new parity for a blog--nice to know you have such a fan club over there. I somehow got included in today's post.
Socratasleaze has a rather boring life talking to himself I see.

nanc said...

at least he didn't call you a nancompoop!

FLORIAN said...

Or beakerpoop...LOL

nanc said...

somebody over there has a fecal obsession - that's for sure!

FLORIAN said...

That about sums it up nanc. Pretty gross if you ask me, but what do you expect from a convicted child molestor?

Esther said...

I find it fascinating that people will take issue with Muslims for their strict interpretation of the Koran, hail the reformations that took place in our own religions like Christianity, etc., call us all enlightened (and therefore better than them) and then claim they know G-d hates gays cause it's in the bible. I have seen this hypocrisy around the blogway and in a way, that is one of the reasons I've been staying away from doing too much blogging. Seeing such blatant bigotry from people who call themselves religious (and their religion as being a "loving" one -- and this includes followers of my OWN religion) makes me want to pop a blood vessel. Sorry to write this here, Beak. But I saw these posts and it just brought it all back. I've been planning to do a post on this, to explain why I've been away (in addition to just being overwhelmed by too much time reading news), but I guess this just inspired me. It's not an attack on any one person (and my apologies that it probably feels that way). Just voicing my incredible disappointment in general. It freaks me out to no end to read comments from people I adore and respect on the subject of terror only to see them able to turn around and make such upsetting statements.

FLORIAN said...

Sorry Esther but your analogy of comparing people like me (i assume you directed your post towards me and nanc?) to Jihadist muslims who will decapitate others for their beliefs is extremely irresponsible. If I sound arrogant and cocky I appologize, however I stand by what I said and I won't appologize for that. If you think it's bigotry you're wrong. Your beef isn't really with Conservative Christians but moreso with the teachings of the Bible and with God. Nanc posted some great verses and I'll post sum as well.
Genesis 19. Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Deuteronomy, Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6 etc....
I won't kill people for their beliefs, I won't strap-pack a suicide belt and walk into a gay-spa, and I won't protest the next gay pastor opening up a congregation. So why do I get bunched up in a category with mass-murderers?

nanc said...

i hate no person. let me make that perfectly clear. anybody who knows me, knows that.

nanc said...

i also do not play like some things are okey-dokey and a-okay because the masses say that's how it should be.

FLORIAN said...

I don't hate anybody either Nanc. Some fail to realise that the status quo is most of the time wrong. I guess I'm just an old-fashioned "thumper" eh?

FLORIAN said...

Good job Donal...had no idea the DU people were as hate-filled as Al Qaeda!
No wonder the dems are the party of bitterness.

nanc said...

eh, flo.

donal - thank you for showing up - now everybody knows you're not a figment of all our imaginations! great interview.

although i never told you this, once when i was banned from fpm - the excuse that came back to me was to the effect of try not to be like donal and you (me) can stay - well - i took that as a high compliment! i may have saved the e-mail and if i did will send it to you. you should really change your handle to "relentless" - suits you.

VerityINK said...

Trolls and FPM
1 Donal I want you to explain what distinguishes an ordinary dissenter like a Ducky or a jerk like Uptown Steve from a Socrates ?

Socrates is a stalker. He writes on the Internet because he can't form relationships elsewhere. Steve, Ducky and Co. TRY and write about issues, or their mindset. Socrasleeze just wants attention. Perhaps, too, I know a bit too much about him; he has told me privately--when we were on friendly terms--that he will espouse ANY opinion just to get a reaction. With Steve and Ducky, they seem to at least believe what they say--even if we DO disagree with it, and/or it's not well-thought out.

2 Uptown is on this blog tonight and did confess to writing the note to Leshawn Barber. I have always found him to be a huge bore and not well read. Uptown has called non Jews such as Hispano, Pointman, JBaumgart and yourself as Jews.

Yes, what's the question? I find that to be quite a compliment, though inaccurate.

3 Recently the Weasel has invaded this blog and objects to my description of him as
an average Communist anti semite. Would you say this is accurate ? He has been pushing WTC conspiracy claims lately ?

It's dead-on. Weeze doesn't mind BEING a commie--he just doesn't want the LABEL of commie. He's the ultimate hypocrite.

4 What FPM posters would make good bloggers ? I would like to read a Northern Steve or Mike blog ?

I'd like to read both! Northern Steve, being a psychologist, can write about the kind of things about which I am most interested--and Mike has a good sense of humor, and interesting political positions (when he's not preachin' about Soc to me.)

5 You have dealt with a range of pests, predators and trolls what do you think motivates them ? I almost feel sorry for Weasie as he wants a board with a few readers. Predictably when he wanted to build an audience he comes here.

Everyone needs attention. People like Weeze and Uptownsteve also want confirmation of their world views. They want to know that they are 'right'. Uppy, in particular, is extremely rigid about this; despite ZinLA's great kindness and absolute fairness to him, he has insisted on branding her a racist--thus confirming that ALL whitefolks are 'bad'.

6 Explain what DU is to our readers ?

DU is the Democratic Underground. It is a very Leftist blogsite for Leftist of all types. As long as you hate President Bush enough--and refuse to really call down the Demmies for anything--they'll love ya there.

7 What are progressives ? Is this the term Communists and Socialists hide behind ?

The Leftists/Democrat party members love to think they're so avant garde (I think they value being 'cool' more than almost anything else.) To them, appearance is everything; they think if they sound good, look good, that they'll BE good. We can all see how well THAT works... Yes, there are a goodly number of Communist-type thinkers at DU; that point of view holds sway over many, many of their most cherished ideas.

8 Do you find the posters at DU hate filled ? Have you seen conspiracy theories at DU ?

I have never seen such hate than that from the Democrats and Leftists. Though Skinner TRIES not to allow actual death threats, calls for the destruction of the President and all he stands for (OUR deaths, too), they still sneak out.

Conspiracy theories? HA! DU is rife with conspiracy theories that would easily rival La Carre. They think the President brought down the WTC quite purposely, that he wants to crown himself king of the world and tear up the Constitution, that he destroyed the Pentagon, and that he will purposely bomb the USA with nukes--and blame it on Iran--just to make his poll numbers go up and the Republicans win in '06 and '08.

There are entire forums dedicated to just that kind of nonsense there.

9 You are a non Jewish supporter of Israel. Does it seem like our trolls have an obsession with Israel and Jews ? I do not know if you remember a poster Murray Rothbard who blamed the Jews for 9-11 at FPM ?

Yes. I do not, nor have I EVER, understood the obsession with Israel, but it is certainly there. Our dear Batya says she has never experienced the type of prejudice and race-hatred that she has experienced at FPM. (And yes, I DO remember Rothbard, and his opinion is par for the course among conspiracy theorists, race baiters like Dis-Uniter, and many, many black Democrats.)

People love to blame others for their troubles--the Jews are so easily the world's best scapegoats.

10 Have you seen the cannard Zionist media at DU ?

Not so much there--that idiocy is something I've mostly heard from Dis-Uniter and other blacks.

11 We do a spoof of Rush Limbaugh's caller abortions known as troll abortion . What are your views on troll abortions and real abortions ?

Please abort trolls--I do.

As to actual abortion, abortion is, of course, murder. It is up to woman to take GREAT PAINS to NEVER get pregnant if they don't want to be, and to choose their partners wisely. (I, myself, used 2-3 kinds of birth control at once to avoid just such an eventuality as an unwanted pregnancy.)

However, I also feel that, ultimately, that women should have the right to decide if they carry a baby or not. Far too often in history, forced motherhood has been used by men to control women and limit their life choices. If a woman does not control whether or not she carries a baby, someone else will be deciding the matter--and that, too often--and most probably--would be a man, and that's not fair.

If men had, in the past, dealt with such decisions fairly, non-manipulatively, not abusively, I might have considered trusting them with that decision. But, sadly, that has not been the case, so the decision to carry a baby MUST always lay with the woman.

12 Do you percieve a Utopian or totalitarian undercurrent in the environmental movement ? What are your views on the environment ?

The entirety of the Left is steeped in Utopianism (I often use that term on my blog.) The environment is not something I give a lot of thought to (besides being decently non-wasteful of our resources.) I think things, far beyond my individual control, manage such things--and I will never have access to them.

As far as global warming goes, I learned long ago about all the checks and balances the earth employs to regulate heat and cool--and there's nothing there that convinces me the earth isn't in a completely natural cycle that will vary with it's needs.

The environmentalists here are busy spiking trees to maim loggers, burning down new houses to pollute the atmosphere, and letting minks out of their cages at breeding ranches (where they saturate the environment and starve, or get killed in animal slicks as the mass crosses highways) to do much good...

I am in favor of civil unions. I agree that marriage between a man and a woman is a religious term and must be kept within that definition.

14 What is your view of the Second Amendment ? I find myself moving to the right on this issue.

I was born and raised in Denver, CO. Everyone I knew had a gun--Dad had a collection in his basement--I thoroughly support the right to keep and bear arms.

15 Is the lefts fixation on gas, alcohol and cigarette taxes a slap in the face of the working poor and rural Americans. Have the Democrats lost touch with rural America ?

It's no 'slap in anyone's face'. John Kerry pays the same rate to fill up his 5-6 SUV's and buy his imported cognac that we do to fill ours and have a little Bacardi on the weekends. I have had most of my relatives die from cigarette addiction, so I know what a burden to our health care system it is.

The Democrats think that the 'rural poor' are all red state, drooling hayseeds, so they don't support them, in any case. The poor they DO support are the gazillion blacks, and browns-from-over-the-border that were getting in such droves. Those are the only 'poor' to them.

Heh he he I like ABBA, don't listen to Manilow, like the Gibbs song-writing ability, love Joan Osborne's voice and talent, prefer Santana, Dulce Pontes, and Shaker music, love to sing the Soprano's theme song, and right along with choral music a la Mozart, and the Mass For 4 Voices etc. I'll certainly enjoy a little opera. give me Jessye Norman, Julia (formerly Migenes) Johnson, and Mirella Freni any day of the week! Unfortunately, I also love 'Pretend You Don't See Her, My Heart'! And I'm dearly devoted to Irish folk music per my heritage.

17 What are your favorite movies ? Did you see Flight 93? What are your picks for the most over rated and under rated films of all time ? I thought the English patient was over rated and needed editing. I think the Quiet Man is under rated and my mother enjoys that film.

My favorite movies:
Fargo
Once Were Warriors
Angela's Ashes
To Die For
What About Bob?
This Boy's Life
The Basketball Diaries
Ordinary People
Scaramouche
Gone With the Wind
The African Queen
The Bridge On the River Kwai
In the Heat Of the Night
Night Of the Hunter
The Long Hot Summer
The Bad Seed
Sorry Wrong Number
Double Indemnity
All About Eve
Leave Her To Heaven

(I have included the old and new.)

I have not seen Flight 93, and the most overrated films are: anything with Tom Cruise, and Bruce Willis, most 'date' movies (I don't watch them, much to Paul's relief) and most 'high action' movies--esp. with Segal and his cohorts, and the Titanic.

The most underrated movies are the psych thrillers like Primal Fear, Consenting Adults, the Talented Mr. Ripley, Diabolique, and Deciever--I LOVE to know what's in a person's mind!

18 Do you watch Lifetime TV, Sex and the City or Desperate Housewives. I am amazed that people would watch some of that stuff. Lifetime TV seems to be all victims 24/7.

Nope, sorry, don't watch 'em...!

19 Are you a fashionista ? Do you pay attention to high fashion ? We have a running debate about people who wear plaid on this blog.

Not a chance (I'm quite sure Dis-Uniter and Hank get their clothes from The Herb Tarlek Emporium Of Sartorial Splender.)

20 Do you have a particular writer you are fond of ?

Frank McCourt--because he writes of my Irish homeland, and Jonah Goldberg, Victor Davis Hanson, and Tom Sowell--because they are so clear. Ann Coulter because she's SO funny. Langston Hughes, and Maya Angelou (who I have met.)

21 Is there a coffee house subculture in Seattle ? What is their motto get gouged , get wired and get buzzed ? Do you pay $4.00 for a cup of coffee ?

Yes, the MochaLatte Wars are hot and heavy--and decaf--between Seattle's Best, Tully's, and Starbucks. I drink a little decaf at home, but my stomach won't take a lot of the brew. I do NOT pay for coffee out.

22 Have you gone Whale watching in the Northwest ?

(Only for Socrates!)

23 Would you rather go to a French resturant or a barbeque house.

Barbeque house, by far!

24 Name your favorite cartoon character ?

The Tasmanian Devil!!!

25 In yesterdays NY Daily News there was a picture of Paris Hilton kissing Bugs Bunny. Who do you think has a higher IQ Paris Hilton or Bugs Bunny ?

'Oh we're the boys in the chorus, we hope you like our show. We hope you're rootin' for us, PARIS has got to go'!

(And we HAVE been to NOLA, HAVE visited a swamp, and DID see a 'gator!)

P.S. Uptownsteve, feel free to come to my blog and I'll happily answer any decently-worded question you have.

VerityINK said...

Nanc--Actually, you DID tell me that; Roberta never did like my mouthing off. Everyone at FPM--Mike, Roberta, some others--didn't like my talking to Socrates, so they called me down about it because they didn't want to have to censure HIM. I guess they thought I'd be more reasonable....

I'm not always. I HATE pedophiles and stalkers like Socrates, and few of the men on the board said anything at all about either him, or his calling me a c*** everyday, so I spoke up against BOTH things.

I don't respect the cowards in the least--and Socrates is nothing but shit.

one more question - is jinny l. a man? it's driving a couple of us crazy. which reminds me of a joke.

this pirate had a steering wheel attached to the sash around his waste; one of his underlings says, "hey, what's with the steering wheel around your waste?" to which the pirate replied, "arghhh, it's driving me nutz!"

florian, nah, not really you guys per se but the whole convo...others too. I'm not calling you guys as bad as sucide bombers, at least that is not even close to what I meant. Believe me, I have my problems with Islam and its teachings as anyone who has seen my comments/posts knows. One of the things they say about a "true" Muslim is that they are not allowed to interpret the Koran. They have to take everything written as its true meaning. I know many of us think that religion needs a reformation, that things need to be interpreted. They shouldn't really smite everyone who disagrees with them. Granted, not sure what a friendly interpretation of that would be but hopefully you get my drift. Sooooooo follow me here. If we feel they need to do that, because...well... we have and we don't go around taking the bible literally or else we'd have to sell people into slavery or whatever, you know what I mean? Today, we interpret the parables, etc, within the bible to figure out how we should live our lives. NOW, if we do that, then why do people use the literal words of the bible, which we're only supposed to be interpreting to a degree rather than taking literally, to justify horrible things they say about gay people. Why, if our religions (and I do mean OURS...not just Christians...pretty much any very religious person seems to) are supposed to be about love thy fellow man, understanding each other, love, love, love, etc, then how in the world can we use the bible to justify prejudice towards gay people? We really think our all-loving G-d is all loving...except for those uppity gay people? Is what I'm asking/saying really such a leap?

You're nice.

Must see you're blog.

Esther I understand how you feel. Not only is God love but He's also just and He wouldn't do something that goes against His character. I do appreciate your feelings.

Elmer's Brother said...

Christians have saying too, (albeit practicing it might be easier said than done) Hate the sin, love the sinner. I don't hate anyone either, but I will not condone the BEHAVIOR of radical Muslims in the name of love.

Donal

Thanks for a wonderful interview.

Esther Do note that we have to accept people for who they are. I think most of the critique of Gay people and the Bible is found in a litteral reading.

I leave the biblical interpretations to theologians. Yet
every poster here has also recognized that there is a difference between civil and theological law. Thus a person may
object on theological grounds but understand and support human rights
for gays. All of our posters do recognize that Gays are entitled to human rights. Our posters are more enlightened then they appear at first glance.

Sorry I missed the conversation last night! But I get up early, so it's early to bed.
Esther- I stand with Nanc and Florian, I don't argue with G*D, and I remember what a mess I was before I got what HE was telling me! So I don't go around saying that HE hates anyone! I may hate the fruit, including some of my own, so I do not put myself as better than anyone else. That is the difference between real Christians and mohammadins! They, mohammadins, do believe they, Mohammad and Allah are the only people who count, the rest of us are sheep to be sheared, slaughtered and eaten! Christians say there is a G*D who loves you and wants to have you live in HIS house forever, but there are some house rules, no spitting on the floors, don't lie, be kind hearted to one another, don't steal, think of others as well as yourself, etc.

tmw
Good morning all and G*D bless!
Donal- Good interview, that's from a Scots Highlander!

Quiet Man under rated? I don't know. It often gets a mention in Top 500 polls and the Criterion DVD release is an excellent transfer.

It suffers a little in comparison to the Duke's other efforts with John Ford.

Elmer's Brother said...

anyone with kids understands that there is a difference between loving someone and accepting certain behavior. it doesn't equate. I am the lowliest of sinners, I recognize my need

MISSINGLINK--I've slapped you up on my blogroll, with your permission!?

that's okay donal - i'm still newly married too - almost seventeen years (14+ years married - 2 living in sin)!

Robert Bayn said...

Esther, thanks for those comments, it was pretty refreshing.

I do agree i don't think they hate people like me, we just disagree spiritually or biblically, which is ok, no problem there, i did find the conversation very interesting and intriguing, and it renewed not only my faith in my God, but also my faith in the humanity.

Donal,

Great interview, i love Mozart myself.

I watch lifetime a lot, i just don't get the abusing a woman in every movie though.

Esther said...

LOL Robert about Lifetime. You've got them nailed. And you're welcome.

I appreciate everyone's comments, but I'm not into the 'love the sinner, hate the sin' because I don't see anything about someone being gay as a sin. And while we can agree to disagree, and everyone has a right to an opinion, etc... seeing people whose opinions I normally respect have these opinions can still be a turnoff for me and make me unbelievably disappointed and sad and not want to visit their sites. IRL, people ask me how I can be conservative (which I'm not really, obviously -- I just am on foreign policy), the party of bigotry and hatred and I have been telling them that's not fair, that republican isn't synomous with gay-bashing...and then i read blogs and have everything I thought turn out to be false. It's not pleasant.

The fact that the irony is lost on most regarding the strict interpretation of the Koran by Muslims and the strict interpretation of the bible to justify calling gays sinners leads many to think that means I'm equating them with suicide bombers is a shame as well but also completely boggles my mind. But that's not hard these days, lol.

Elmer's Brother said...

I called myself a sinner too

the new testament says all have sinned that's why I stated that I am the lowliest of sinners.

I don't think this is gay bashing because I don't like the behavior of people who lie either, that includes the mistakes I myself make

FLORIAN said...

Oh well....guess I offended some people EB! What else is new?

Esther said...

But lying is a choice. But perhaps for some, there in lies the rub. And don't worry, florian. I know that nowhere is it written that I have a right to live a life free of offense. ;)

Elmer's Brother said...

Esther I am sorry if I offended you

Elmer's Brother said...

or you Robert

Robert Bayn said...

No, i'm a pretty easy going guy, i have my opinions and beleifs, and people have theirs, i accept that, and really embrace that, that's what makes the world so great, is we can believe differently and think differently, but still live in civility with each other. Me and Beak hardly ever agree on politics as well many other things, but their is a general respest for each persons view. Like i said before, i found this debate, intriguing and interesting.

nanc said...

i apologize for any offenses also - i try not to be of the world and don't find it such a great place. well, except for my world and it's supreme! and just about anybody's welcome - yeah!
