Failure to learn the lessons of the Cold War

I sit watching my beloved city under yet another terrorist threat. I can live with those threats it is part of the price for living in NYC. I will be returning shortly
but that is another post.

The problem with the Cold War was we treated Communism as just another political viewpoint. Thus as another viewpoint they are entitled to the freedoms the rest of us have. Unfortunately, we have learned that CPUSA was entirely funded by Moscow . We also learned about espionage centered from CPUSA. We have also learned of the ancient tactic of Front Groups to disguise the CPUSA involvement.

Communism is an expansionistic hegemonistic system that seeks the violent overthrow of Capitalism. Islam is not a religion like Baptists or Zoroastrians . There is also the desire for world domination expressed in the faith . Jihad is not a diversion it is a central theme.

Civil rights do not include national suicide, if it does Striesand goes first. These groups should be closely monitored and if they violate the law prosecuted . Members of Code Pink gave money and medical supplies to our enemies in Falujah . The people responsible should be tried.

Free Speech does not include meeting with foriegn intelligence agencies or terrorists . Hayden and others did this durring Vietnam and should have faced prosecution. Sedition and Treason are not protected by the first amendment. The FBI has an obligation to watch Mosques and far left groups. It is time we wise up and learn from our mistakes.

Nietzsche..."That which does not kill me, makes me stronger"

Usually the commies are difficult to spot because they use the local culture as a "cloak" and "dig into it"...hence they embrace things like folk music, folk art, etc. and take over those areas. They also seek out areas where they can influence popular opinion... journalism... television... movies... plays... single issue advocacy... and thereby slowly move the culture in the direction they wish to see it go.

Their chief tool is to use "history" as a club to fuel the resentment of all dissaffected members of society, especially the poor, or those who have ever been subjected to some calamity of nature or war and re-contextualize the events to make it look like cynical politics on behalf of the government (men) in power (unless it is overtly sympathetic towards them ie - the Clinton years).

And so when the government responds to a disaster like Katrina, they initially claim it is inept and too slow. When the government responds by accelerating the relief efforts and pushing the procurement process through no-bid type contracting, they accuse the government of fiscal irresponsibility and greed on the part of the leaders who were once employed in some of the industries being given contracts.

How convenient their positions as "watchdogs" of the "fourth estate" is. As critics, all they do is criticize. They never have to "do" anything except criticize people who actually do things.

When I heard the news about NYC's latest alert, I felt sick to my stomach.

I'm waiting to hear this on the news: Islam is not a religion like Baptists or Zoroastrians . There is also the desire for world domination expressed in the faith . Jihad is not a diversion it is a central theme. I know that you weren't crazy about Spencer's book, but he does point out the centrality of jihad.

You believe the Cold War is over?

Because Bill Clinton said so?

This "valuable intell" was obtained LAST WEEK and nothing was done because it's patently ridiculous that some guy in the western desert of Iraq would be in on that level of detail....however yesterday the grand juries were active and the prez was giving his speech to convince us that the "war on terror" isn't bogus.

Some of the suckers fell for it. Mostly right wingers like beamish who don't know how to live like a man in the world but other assorted peeps fell for it.

I've known the New York City subway system was a planned target for Islamic suicide bombers for about 2 years now.

I guess I use my internet access for different things, Ducky. Mostly so I don't say stupid things like "the war on terror is bogus" to people who aren't smoking crack.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Why don't you enlist and kill our enemy?

Ducky is a chickenbeaver.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

First, Ducky, you have no right to call me a damned fool because I am in no way a leftist.

Second, the point of my internet use is to follow up on credible threats. Posters on message forums on Islamic websites have discussed ways to strike the NYC subways for years. You can't report suspicious activity if you don't look for it.

Third, I try not to insult your intellect, out of fear I may mislead people into thinking I believe you possess any.

So here's Ducky laughing at people for not getting blown up.

Pathetic, ain't it?

Elijah and Samwich great to hear from you.

Always We are going to loose if we fail to use colmmon sense.Counter terrorists belong where subversives are in Mosques and in far left Commie front groups. We should also use the sedition laws against those members of Code Pink who gave money to our enemies in Falujah.

Ducky I have taken a pay cut and joined the war on terror. However they can make a great enlistment bonus , Serve two years in Iraq and return home and kick two commies asses free of legal penalties when you come home.

How about the old retort to the chickenhawk . If you don't like this country leave. Beamish , Warren,BiG Bubba and myself will buy you an inner tube and we will throw in some coppertone. Go to Fidels workers paradise.

Beak,
Agreed. Counterterrorism needs to target the hotbeds.

Ducky Iwould say you picked the perfect name for yourself after all you do show a bird-brained mentality in your postings.

First, I have to disagree with you regarding Homeland Security saying the threat was not credible. You left out one key word just like your leftist news media does so much of the time. The actual wording was it is of "doubtful credibilty." I will speak slowly so you might understand doubtful does not mean it is not credible it simply means that they have not verified it. Therefore, although it is of dubious credibilty it could still be factual.

Secondly, you seem to think that treating the threat as credible and taking action is wrong or stupid at best. However, what you wont say is that had something happened you would be one of the first out of the chute railing against a in-effective City government in not taking every precaution necessary to protect its people.

Thirdly, you and people like you seem to think that terrorism is bogus and if you just ignore it it will all go away because it doesnt exist anyway. That was the mentality in the early thirties regarding Hitler. Just ingore him, appease him and he will just go away. Well, we see where your type of mentality got us then. It got us 6 million people murdered by starvation, gas chambers and God alone knows how many died while being experimented on while alive.

Fourth, you labeled Mr. Beamish a fool. Well bucko let me tell you Beamish and I have had our disagreements here but the man is no fool and he probably knows more than a bird brain like yourself will ever know in a lifetime.

Fifth, you called Beak retarded. That my little feathered friend shows just how ignorant you are. As the old school yard axiom goes "takes one to know one" is that what your telling us your a fool and a retarded one at that?
Beak and I may disagree on many things yet we can maintain a friendship that transends the politics something that people like you can never do.

Ducky I think you should study the old saying "Those who forget the past are destined to repeat it." Because that is exactly what your asking for.

Have a nice day enjoy it while you can and just remember Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I notice the Farmer has Duck on the menu this year.

Justin,
LOL!

When I told my husband that The Beak had announced DUCK SEASON, my husband's wry comment was "It's always Duck season."

Hey, when a duck dives for food, doesn't it show its ass? Is that the time to shoot?

[Sorry, everyone, for my sarcasm this morning. I have to take out my bunion-pain on someone!]

Sorry always, but the hunting laws require you to only take ducks "on the wing".

Aristophanes "The Clouds"...

STREPSIADES. By Zeus! Tell me, Socrates, I pray you, who are these women, whose language is so solemn; can they be demigoddesses?

SOCRATES. Not at all. They are the Clouds of heaven, great goddesses for the lazy; to them we owe all, thoughts, speeches, trickery, roguery, boasting, lies, sagacity.

STREPSIADES. Ah! that was why, as I listened to them, my mind spread out its wings; it burns to babble about trifles, to maintain worthless arguments, to voice its petty reasons, to contradict, to tease some opponent. But are they not going to show themselves? I should like to see them, were it possible.

SOCRATES. Well, look this way in the direction of Parnes; I already see those who are slowly descending.
