Back from the Car Show

I didn't find any surfer rock. However, Bobby Vinton, Johny Maestro and Dion and the Belmonts will upset Vegans and lawless types.

It is amusing to see many of the old car heads need walkers. In my day one was either a car head, jock, hippie, military type, dico, heavy metal, jock, nerd or young Republican. I was part of the last group where we were young GOP types telling the aging hippies that they were full of crap.

I guess that subculture never produced much memorabilia beyond some books, Family Ties and the impetus for FOX news.

LOL, Beak!

I frequently find myself editing at such events. Perhaps I should stop.

I can say with some certainty that our local car heads are a different sort. NYC car shows have a lot of memorabilia and old music.

I am trying to think of what a young GOP circa 80's show would have. The TV shows and music was good. However, playing Bobby Vinton known in NYC as yo Bobby V does upset Vegans.

Booby Vinton, man he was terrible.

most of the lefties were over at the 5 Spot listening to Ornette around that time.

I don't know, Beak. You seem to have a little more musical awareness than Beamish (who doesn't) but you need to open things up a bit.

"Roses are red ..."
Lord he was terrible.

Bobby V is very useful at work. Playing his music has been known to irritate suspects. The Polish Prince
does get on the nerves of some obnoxious criminal types.

My favorite was when an African coworker said he never heard Africans
singing a wimboweh. Only stupid white
people make the noises in The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

Man Ducky. I demolished your pretentions to artistic authenticity in music way the hell back in February.

Stick to what you know. Tell us why fags speak with a lisp.

Gee Beamish, I was thinking about you the other day.

The fall concerts have started at the Gardner and they performed two pieces by Xenakis. What do you think of his theories of composition as a stochastic process?

Of course trying to discuss that with you would be like discussing linear algebra with a turnip.

Keep it up with the petty homosexual gossip. When you go into the back room to reboot the servers do you and your friends pack a little fudge?

Too shallow for my tastes. If his music were a painting you could almost see the color-by-numbers guides pre-printed on the canvas through the dollar store watercolors.

I assume you're stil trying to experience art with Wikipedia?

You need to get out more Ducky. Take in a movie or something.

Actually when me and my friends feel like being mischievious, we do micro-second long rolling blackouts with cell phone tower networks to cause calls to drop randomly and take bets on which city's citizens call in complaints first. Or change the voice mail menus of everyone in a city to Spanish.

It's boring at the top, but the power is niiiiice.

Man, I haven't been to a car show in ages! I miss those car shows, and so does Mr. AOW.

many of the old car heads need walkers

Mr. AOW needs a transport chair. **frown**

That's right Beamish, I don't experience art directly.

I thought of you again when BOA made a ten million contribution to the MFA the other day. Part of the contribution in Elsworth Kelly's "Blue , Green, Yellow, Orange, Red" and I thought of the far right fring like you and Beak who would come up with "a four year old could do it". It's too bad that kind of gross stupidity runs so deeply in popular culture.

Of course you're so abysmally stupid that you think painting is a matter of duplicating nature. What's it like having no aesthetic sense at all? Does it get boring? My guess is that it bleeds into more concrete reasoning, too bad.

Actually, Ducky, I just find it telling that you'd ooh and aah over one of Genesis P. Orridge's paint enema splatters and try to compare it with a Jackson Pollack "original."

I think Mommy kept your doodles on the fridge too long. but whatever.

I'd chalk this up to the typical fringe right winger bringing up Pollack any time you mention non representational art but in this case, I think Beamish really is stupid enough to think there is some commonality with Kelly.

Beamish, world's No. ! Thomas Kinkade fan.

Ducky's here said...

Check that, Beamish, if you consider Kelly's line drawings there is a very definite link between him and Pollack.

I'm sure someone with your comprehensive knowledge of the arts can discuss the common point.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Actually I was going for the commonality between Pollack standing on his canvas on the floor and pouring drips of paint on it because he wanted to "be in his painting" and P-Orridge shoving paint up his ass with an enema bag and shitting it on a canvas because he wanting his painting to be in him.

Take off your floaties and try the deep end, Ducky.

I knew you couldn't do it, Beamish. Your ignorance never disappoints.

... and once again we get a look at Beamish's obsession with the anal.

Care to comment, Beamish?
