The realities of free speech in the work place for the Editrix

The realities are that although Americans are protected by the First Amendment our speech is restricted.

We may not hang a picture of any President in our office except the current one. Thus we may hang a picture of Yogi Bear but not of Abraham Lincoln. The fact that Lincoln remains dead for over 100 years and is on our currency is not considered.

Our speech is regulated to the point that anything that considered by anyone to be offensive is considered grounds for disciplinary action. In reality it is a tool of far left and in an office of 200 plus people four workers made up 90% of the complaints.

Certain actions are offensive and should be met with a suspension. Calling a short Black coworker Gary Coleman or calling an Italian coworker Tony Soprano would get people a suspension.

In the recent election I was careful never to say a single word. Even the cryptic phrase said to a coworker "talk to me on April 15" was deemed offensive by a person who illegally played pro Obama campaign messages at work.

In reality these rules are used by people with a far left agenda to harass their peers and some supervisors to bludgeon their staff. The fact that this seems insane and flies in the face of common sense is just meaningless.

Beak, why don't you tell us the reasons you were forced out of the family business.

I'm sure it wasn't your fault.

Beak, I know that you Americans are a bunch of pussy-whipped, cowardly, brow-beaten, shit-scared, politically correct, possibly irretrievable spineless eunuchs. I don't need you to tell me that. But what does all that have to do with Aunt Jemimah and the Duck? He may be punished in his workplace for calling somebody Aunt Jemimah. Fine. I never denied that. However, that does STILL not make it by any SANE and OBJECTIVE standard a racist slur. In your favourite hellhole Saudi Arabia you may be beheaded for the possession of a Bible. Does that make the possession of a Bible OBJECTIVELY a crime punishable by death?

DUH!

You'd only be beheaded if you are Muslim, editrix.

Duck

I was not forced from the family business. I outgrew it and went to work for a much larger firm. As my reputation grew my being employed outside the family became a source of embarrassment for the family my salary tripled by leaving.

Eventually, the family business was placed on my account roster. I refused to handle their business and had it moved to another facility. My talents were reserved for larger more important customers.

When illness of a loved one forced me to move to a smaller facility the largest account specified they
wanted to move with me as I was needed at home. The situation grew worse and I had responsibilities at home.

I chose another career when the situation resolved itself.

Sometimes one has to leave home to prove their skill. My salary tripled as the customers recognized dedication. However, that type of dedication requires full devotion I could no longer provide.

I walked away to serve that which I love, the American people.

In the cultural context of slavery
the comment Aunt Jemimah is indeed
perceived as a slur against Black Women. It is akin to calling someone a "House Nword". The Duck is well aware of this context.

Is the fear something to do with the possibility that someone might hang a picture of Ronald Reagan? Just asking.

Beak, you're a paper pusher who calls himself an "officer". Pardon if your story is considered exaggerated.

Ducky

My title is "officer". We know that as a person that calls doodling art and has a disdain for Renoir you are not the sharpest tool in the shed.

AOW

Actually, the law involving what can be displayed in the office was made by Sen Hatch. The law is violated by the left such as the pro Obama campaign ads. Placing a picture of Lincoln in my office would have got me a suspension. In fact books on American History were
deemed inappropriate in an extreme
interpretation.

The new supervisor allows me to keep books on the shelf. The War of 1812 should really not be a big deal.

There is something wrong with a law that allows a picture of Gumby
and not Lincoln in a Federal Office.

A bet a book that gave a pro-American version of the Mexican-American War would really go over great.

Fine. So let me re-phrase: "In your favourite hellhole Saudi Arabia one may be beheaded for the possession of a Bible."
