Lets talk of best
1) Fat Burger
2) Checkers
3) Burger King
4) In and Out
5) Carl Jr
6) McDonalds
7) Wendys
8) Jack in the Box
9) Johny Rockets
Fat Burger is far and away the best. Checkers is very under rated and their fries are great.
Burger King is rated about right. In and Out is actually over rated. It was very good but not in the same area code as Fat Burger. Carl Jr was better than expected. McDonalds is a great value
except Burger King does a better job. Wendy's is interesting, but they do better with their spicy chicken sandwich. Jack in the box was pretty bad. Johny Rockets was terrible and someone should head to Checkers and find out what is wrong.
If you want to talk about value Checkers would come off the chart. They do a much better job
than such over rated joints as In and Out and Johny Rockets. Wendy's has alot of other good options but needs to improve its fare.

My son, PhoenixFire, has worked at Wendy's for over a year...no employee eats the fries...EVER!
The Mandarin Chicken salad is terrific, the chicken nuggets are good.
PhoenixFire would live on the spicy chicken sandwich or the baconator, if allowed! LOL!
My flexitarian daughter WILL eat a Burger King cheseburger, when we go there.

Of all those I can only talk about McDonalds and Burger King. Should some of the others be present in Germany, it has escaped me.
I love McDonalds, mainly Big Macs and what is called Hamburger Royal (with cheese) here. (Maybe that's a Quarter Pounder at your end?) I hardly ever eat anything else there. To me, the Burger King Hamburgers taste like soap, but that must be just me. I very much like their snacks, though.
Fast food is incredibly expensive here, so money is no excuse if the lower classes are poisoning their children with it. To really get my fill I'll have to spend as much as I would have to spend in a reasonable conventional restaurant, not to speak of a home-cooked meal.
I almost always eat in the car, because I want to make headway when I am travelling, plus I find the restaurants annoying. As the Victorians used to say: "I love children, specifically when they cry because then somebody comes and takes them away." Sadly, that is not the case anymore.
However, I love it, and some junk food now and then can't be THAT bad.
Another reason our health insurance premiums are so high.
Too much fat in your diet, Beak. Go vegetarian.
I have pretty much sworn off fast food. Maybe have some once every month or two for expedience sake. They all taste about the same to me.

Only when I HAVE to, I eat(what I call the hamburgers) the frisbys at Macdonald, today I had to take my 3 year old and 6 year old Grandaughters for their dental appointments we ended up at MacDonalds, they mainly want to play in the indoor playground.
I order the kids meal, I want the toy!
Try to keep healthy with fruit....now that really hits the pocketbook!

Aye. I am. That's one of the joys of being of Scots descent with some German thrown in. :-)
All the more a reason to know about the finer things in life, like -- say -- the difference between MD and BK! What a shame! And that when everybody knows that the German culinary experience is second to none.
Carl's Jr. = Hardees (it's the same company, just different franchises)
Checkers = Rally's (same company as well)
Jack in the Box is pretty nasty, but they throw all of their quality into their "Jack's Spicy Chicken Sandwich" which is by far the best Fastfood Chicken sandwich around and the ONLY reason I'd go to Jack in the Box.
