Opting out

The tradgedy of this immigration bill is that employers seem to want no part of American HS drop outs. The reality is that immigrants come here motivated and there are no saftey nets. HS drop outs are not motivated and have saftey nets to fall back on. Even if these wages were legal companies seem to prefer immigrants.

The question is how to get these HS dropouts baack on trak is a serious problem. Part of the fee paid by employers should go towards vocational training of dropouts.
There is no reason or shame in a person learning computer repair, welding or the various types of mechanic trade.

The other reality is that US employers are getting frustrated with US college graduates with useless degrees. The new bill makes provisions for vocational, educational ability and English proficiency. A degree in Gender studies prepares on for a job as what? The Old Bolshevik network has made a mockery of the system of higher ed.

The reality is that big business is reacting to the decline in quality in our college grads fostered by treating our Universities as a jobs program for Bolsheviks.

When their computers won't run and their cars are stuck in their carports, these hoity-toities will cry "Foul! You owe me the fix!"

Don't get me started on useless college degrees!

Good luck in any attempt to get high school dropouts back on track. There was a reason that they didn't complete high school...motivation, drugs, pregnancy or even educational problems and these problems continue throughout their lives.
Let's be real...to get a high school degree in the United States, basically all one needs to do is show up every day.

That Mouse seems familiar ......
I wonder if the Duck is a fan.

Bert

I wonder if we can get a statement from Candidate Beamish about saftey nets.

It's frantically amazing. I will soon graduate with my BA in English, yet my job as a network admin encompasses none of that, with the exception of me being a skilled technical writer and the ability to publish easy to read SOP's.

PS - I've invited you, Duck, and Mr. Beamish to my blog for a quick visit to see the origins of Conservatives and Liberals.

Beak, in what subject did you take a degree?

I suspect you have a B.A. in Paperwork and Sucking at the Government Trough.

Can't you answer?

Lets Comwad Duncy is well aware that I have a BBA. As far as pushing paper that is a job many people do via the government or in the private sector.

Tell the lairs er lawyers at the American Communist Liberties Union to stop pushing paper as well.

The notion that HS Dropouts are not smart, is really sad. Many people drop out of school for various reasons, in fact I was one of those people. I have since returned to school and Am now on the right track, as are many people who have dropped out, let's not throw away the key just because people have made mistakes in their life.

Why is business going to allow any change? Under the current system they get low cost labor and we pay up for medical, education and law enforcement.

Shareholders get the profits, taxpayers get the costs. It's simple.

Expecting this to change puts you in a class with the folks who say that record oil company profits are good because the oil companies will have money to build new refineries and lower prices.

Wake up folks. The full Ayn Rand is not in your best interest.

I didn't go to college except for a couple of pointless classes I took at Hunter. The only good to come out of it was that I opted for Art School instead and I don't think I missed anything at all.

Rob

On average graduates probably likely are smarter and certainly posses more maretable skills.

UI

Hunter is a great school.

Ducky

Make up your mind, now you are calling me a Liberterian. Pick one theme and stay with it. Jason Pappas is a libererian, but this is a first.

Roll the circus music.

On my blog, Duck.

Where is your blog? You need to get one, you have strong opinion here.

Beak,

The GED Test is actually consider more hard than achieving a Diploma.

I'll drink to that. I absolutely fell asleep in philosophy class when her name came up. Utter nonsense.

And now for today's Rudy Republican moment. Brought to you by La Conquista, everyone's favorite Fascist publication.

Do note that according to the Duck racial and ethnic slurs are okay when done by leftist. Calling an Italian American a fascist is fine according to Duncy

Steve, you kind of miss the point. Ducky doesn't have a blog for two reasons.

1. That way he doesn't have to defend his delusions.

2. Without a blog, all his stupid failed predictions and the crap he tries to pass off as truth, isn't gathered in one place for everyone to laugh at!

Isn't that right, Nostradumbass?

I newer though about dropping out of high school. It just wasn't an option.

I'm just shy of two years worth of credits, no degree.

Life overran my educational ambitions at the time, and I never bothered to go for a degree.

I'm the kind of person that never studied for a test, I never had to.

I didn't do home work or term papers unless they were required to pass a course. I'd just take a grade cut.

When I was in the Army, I taught a variety of subjects from applied trigonometry and plane geometry (with a little physics thrown in) to a class in the basics of acquiring a European drivers license. My classes were as small as four people and as large as 80.

My wife dropped out of high school and went to work in a factory until we got married. Several years later, she decided to get a GED. Actually, (at that time, she received a diploma from the high school she went to) its different now.

Rob is correct, a GED requires more knowledge to attain than a high school diploma.

If you want to make people get a high school diploma, make a diploma mandatory before they can get a drivers license, marriage license, own property, exercise franchise or enter a legal contract.

The way I understand it, that's what they do in Iceland.

Essentially, in the eyes of their government, they are considered children.

Most people will do no more than what is necessary or what is expected of them. The way to get more out of them is to expect more.

Take Ducky, for instance; I expect sub-normal comprehension, racism and vulgar personal attacks. (He hasn't failed me yet!) ;^)

I'm pretty sure Rudy Guiliani is no conservative, but I don't think he's left-wing enough to be a Fascist like the great leftists Mussolini and Hitler.

But Ducky, my little bird brained friend. The last I heard that is the way the socialist form of government works to its fullest.

Just change the Shareholders to your crowd. The marxist elite.
Now does it sound familiar?

The elite marxist gets rich and the ducks get SCR_ _ _ _. Im sure you can fill in the puzzel.

The question is how to get these HS dropouts back on track is a serious problem.

Being a traditionalist, I suggest having them spend a week in the stocks in public view before being allowed to drop out.

If a few days of being pelted with rotten fruit doesn't change their mind, then you know they're serious about their stupidity. That's something I can respect.
