On deck tommorow is a discussion of Schwartz from West to East. We will discuss Upton Sinclair, Communist myths and realities of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. There was a snippet about Steinbeck. The realities of the haiographic Union era will also be discussed.

There is no news on the Beakerambo front. The Liberterians tried to dupe the clowns of Jihad into a Beakerambo for khat deal. It seems that many of the jihadis have no problem with Hashish, Heroin and Khat but want you to step away from that Budwieser.

Bud is pretty good, but not the best. Anyways, recently, I tried to read a lot of "classic" literature that I had missed back in high school and college. I read some Ibsen, Hugo, Steinbeck, Hemmingway, and Hardy. Guess what?
All that crap sucked!!!!!! It was so damn depressing I wanted to cut my own throat. And I didn't even try Dostevsky, or Dickens. GODDAMMIT. Screw the classics.

I want Steinbeck info! This coming term, my class will be reading The Pearl.

BTW, at the symposium, one of the speakers spoke about khat. If my notes weren't upstairs (Ouch! My back!), I'd refresh my memory as to which speaker.

I see that John Bwown's site has issued some ultimatums for the release of Beakerambo.

Budweiser is decent beer-flavored Kool Aid.

Nanc, is Newcastle Brown Ale a snob beer?

nanc said...

probably. although i've never heard of it and i've never seen a commercial for it and that is the true test of a snob beer. it's a word of mouth kind of thing. of course, if i watched t.v. more i might view a commercial for this beer. i miss the capitol one guys.
