The Downside of Baseball

I enjoy watching baseball. However, there is a dark side to our beloved national past time. The prices of tickets and food are so exorbitant regular working people can not enjoy a day at a MLB game without a second mortgage.

Another seldom discussed bit is the signings of young foreign amateurs who get hurt and discarded
without vocations and end up marrying locals without educational or vocational skills. MLB really does need to start some sort of illiteracy program in the minors. Few of these ball players reach the majors and MLB really does need to address this problem.

The tale of US ball players without educational skills is well known. I would love to read the story of baseballs foreign failures. At least the American failures often went to college or graduated high school. The foreign failures seldom speak English and may be illiterate or very poorly educated in their own language.

The one and only cure to baseball's problems is the one you'll never hear discussed. Simply put, they need to end the anti-trust exemption they've enjoyed for years. What are they afraid of? Let somebody form a new, competitive league, and let the assholes sink or swim. Baseball can go the way of the dodo bird tomorrow and it wouldn't hurt me one bit. It's just not the game it used to be once upon a time, and it never will be again.

Hey Beak, looks like Gay Eagle is going to shut down his site because you and Betty Ann refuse to play nice.

Beak, it's getting rough over at Bald Eagle. Do you here all those voices? It's your corner men telling you to STAY DOWN.

Don't box outside your weight. Betty Ann has you down as a real wasichu. You have no chance.

You're right, Beak.

From my standpoint, we hardly ever get to a game with our three kids; we cannot afford it unless we stuff them with food ahead of time and get nosebleed seats!

I understand that NFL games must be expensive; there aren't very many of them... But MLB?!?

Plus, I'm still very offended by the way the Reds treated Joe Nuxhall.

I am a son of NYC and can handle the insane types at Bad Eagle with ease.

Batty Ann is not reflective of anyone other than the insane.

Beak, why don't you find a site where you can just enjoy yourself without having to argue with these ass hats every time you get on-line. Really, you're not going to convince any of these shitheads any more than they are going to convince you. It's no good spending all your time on-line staying pissed off. These fucktards ain't worth the effect on your blood pressure. You can always take the time to fuck with somebody anytime you want and pretty much anywhere you want. You are dealing with people who have the brain of the Scarecrow, the heart of the Tin Man, and if you was to ever meet the vast majority of them in real life, the courage of the Cowardly Lion. Why waste so much time on them?

You are correct that these are indeed ass hats. I would not place Ray in that category as he is just wrong but not consumed by idiocy.

The site was once an amazing place ruined by racial goonery. It is a pity that such a great resource is fouled by ignorant bigots.

The comedy of Mark Winters does make it bearable.

Baseball... where you're armed with a club against nine guys wearing a leather swimming flipper on their hand and if you smite any of them they make you go home.

Not that it's much of a sport. First sign of rain they all run for cover.
