Would you vote for

All of us do have hangups. I am going to ask the following question

1 Would you vote for a Muslim? Yes if his name were Stephen Schwartz as he is clearly a patriot and a person who considers himself part of Western civ. A CAIR clown would not get my vote.

2 Hindu Yes
3 Mormon Yes
4 Commie Only if it were in a jury to denaturalize and deport
5 Scientologist Probably not
6 American Indian Religion Yes especially a follower of the Great Woodchuck

I am somewhat ashamed of number 5. However, my experiences with annoying cult types would lead me to say no. I would say the same about Madonna's kooky Kaballah cult and clown like Kahanists.

Beak,
Let me first thank you for calling in to The Gathering Storm Radio Show last Friday.

I wanted to let you know that we once again plan to briefly discuss the NYC madrassa when Christine calls in at 15 after the hour this week. Maybe you'd like to call in again this Friday?

HERE are the date, time, and phone number--in case you don't have the info handy.

Another guest at the bottom of the hour also looks to be interesting. WC obtained this guest: Vito Vaccaro of The Loyalist Party. I love part of the Party's platform:

the goal of the Loyalist Party is to do whatever it takes to preserve the American way of life....Key to this fight is to identify the biggest threat to our country, our culture, and our way of life. The threat is Islam, and its blatant destructive and anti-American culture.

Actually, I'd never before heard of The Loyalist Party? Do you know anything about that group?

beak - i won't even vote for another christian who wears their religion on their sleeve. bush let me and this nation down.

i may vote for a mormon, ONLY if they are on the conservative ticket and ONLY to keep the socialists out of it.

i would emphasize "may" in my previous statetment if i knew how.

1. No - Muslims who follow the Koran, cannot be trusted with Power.

2. maybe - Hindu's are in general good people, who believe in peace and tranquility, I could see myself voting for a Hindu, but depends on the issues.

3. maybe - Mormon, If only the other candidate was not up to my suiting.

4. never - Commies need mental rehab

5. hell no Scientology is a joke, and anyone who is part of that group needs mental help, see 'Tom Cruise and John Travolta'

6. yes - Being part American Indian, I could see myself voting for a American Indian.

AOW

I will be on board early in the show. I will have to comb my archives and find the communist school. NYC needs to make commies pay for their own education.

Nanc and Rob I am ashamed of myself and would not vote for a scientologist.

1. Muslim. NO, their laws are antithetical to ours.
2. Hindu. No. Ditto
3. Mormon. Yes
4. Commie. No..in a capitalist country? Well, half is, anyway.
5. Scientologist. No...I've spent too much time seeing their true stuff in Munich, Germany.
6. American Indian. If he was a Jew or a Christian.

beakerkin said...

Z I am ashamed at myself over the Scientology bit but I couldn't vote for one.

Why are you ashamed?

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Probably the only two of the religious sects I would rule out candidates from would be the Communists and the Scientologists.

I'd have some issues with the guy who believes everything is an illusion in charge of my tax dollars (the Hindu) or the guys who believe it's okay to kill people who don't follow their religion (jihad, Mormon Blood Atonement doctrine), but it would depend on what office I'm voting them into. I would have no problems with a Muslim dog catcher.

There is nothing to be ashamed of, Beaker! Read up on the birth and child raising teachings...scary!

Excellent! Get that info and share it with our listeners.

I'm sure we're all being labeled as being phobic here, but to hell with them.

Provided none of them dragged their religion into their jobs, and dependent on if I liked the candidate or not.

I've been very let down by Bush, too. This is no secret.

beamish may HAVE to run.

We have all kinds of problems finding a running mate. Joe Lieberman was rejected.

What about Beamish and Ann Coulter in 08. Will Ann don the gasmask and will Mr B approve?

How will our Web expert view the web impact?

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

As much as I like Ann Coulter, she's too moderate for a Beamish administration.

Steve Harkonnen said...

Ann Coulter would have to look over her right shoulder to see you, Beamish.

How about FJ? He would certainly confuse the leftistas. They would be so tied in knots you could get everything accomplished before they found their heads again!

I specifically added my having lived in Munich to my post because I've seen, first hand, the pushiness they use there on people to become Scientologists...on the streets. American kids with clipboards asking "would you like a personality test?" Well, I loved those things in the past so I said 'yes' once..then was strolled around the corner to the Scientology offices..big sign hanging there..."No, thanks.." I said.

There are two books written by women who narrowly escaped with their lives trying to leave Scientology. You shouldn't be ashamed of shunning this group. There's something very ugly in that organization and we don't see that on the outside, but try to leave it some day! One American girl tried about 15 years ago; BIG story in the LA Times about how she'd had a car accident while fleeing and the Scientology people got there before the Emergency people....told the ER people she'd be fine, they'd take care of her..she died. Not one word about that story that was supposed to have been a weekly story on exposing Scientology. Every Sunday I'd look to find the next story and nothing. Somebody shut the LA Times up. I'll never forget that, Beak.

Well, Beak I would have to vote for the Woodchuck if he had Stephen running with him :)

Since all presidential candidates are either Catholic or Protestant, those points are rather moot.

I cannot vote in US elections, but my favorite presidential candidate's religion is Church of Christ. Guess who he is. A hint: his wife is a fox...

The same person cannot be president and vice president at the same time even IF they are from different times.

I think we need to get the Loyalist Party to endorse beamish for President, and then merge the DNC and RNC under this new umbrella organization.

We only have till December to accomplish this... the primaries are rapidly approaching.

Ducky's here said...

Would you vote for a Roman Catholic?

For the purposes of discussion and really not to start a fight, I don't believe mw or AOW could.

For her next trick Sonia will tell us about the myriad of Roman Catholic presidential candidates starting with Al Smith.

Ducky's here said...

Beak, what do you say about John Smith, founder of Mormonism, being heavily, heavily influenced as a youth by reading about the life of Mohammad?

nanc said...

well, it can't be, sonia, because my husband isn't running for president - NOW - go put some clothes on!

beakerkin said...

Duck The claim that Joseph Smith was influenced by the life of Mohammad is supposition. We can presume Smith read the Bible, drank milk and wore underwear. In and of itself stating any of these facts caused another is not logical.

The Merry Widow said...

Joseph Smith and his brother/s had a dowsing scam going, he was in trouble for that, and it is believed he also had sticky fingers, plus being a mason adds up to some questionable activities, for which he never apologized for or repented for. That is a biggy to me, where is the fruit and what kind is it.
Ted Bundy in the interview with James Dobson DID CONFESS all his murders AND said that he deserved death because he took that which he could not give back, life.

I've never heard that about Joseph Smith, but the similarities between Muhammad's life of raping and pillaging and the violent early history of Mormonism are at times uncanny.

How uncanny it sounds a lot like the Christian movements of the time to me Mr. B. Raping, pillaging and the violent history of the Christians against the American Indians who decided they were the sons of the devil because their skin was red. The Christian Rapes and Masacres of innocent women and children. No, all atrocities were not perpertrated by the military.

The Christians stole their land by some of the most despicable means possible. And you Rave about the Mormons history.

Really people this whole Mormon thing has gotten to be just plain idiotic when you point out their early beginings and refuse to admit the early beginings of the Christian westard movement.

Shakes head.

Oh here we go again, the white man screwed over the red man. Let's all bust our our mortification devices and lash ourselves for the supposed sins of our ancestors.

There's just one small problem with that whole mythology -- the Indians were warlike people who killed quite a few colonists. It went both ways. The rest of the situation was of course, far more complex than you make it out to be. Child, do you read history at all? Do you know anything except the turgid bogs of your own febrile imagination? Does your mind expand beyond the boundaries of the self-righteous opinions you decorate yourself with? You have convinced no-one, persuaded not a soul, and made yourself out to be a n egotistical know-nothing, which in itself is quite a feat.

I notice that the Duck cannot stay on topic. (Surprise.)

1 -- Stephen Schwartz only.
2-5 -- No
6 -- Yes

It depends if and how they actually practice the religion. Being a New Yorker, I meet many people whose religious label is like a tag on their shirt collar ... no one sees it.

But, in the case of Islam, if they take their religion more than a historic relic of their ancestors, I don’t see how. Remember that Islam requires that they deceive the infidels. With such stellar examples as Arafat, Mubarak, Assad, Abudullah, Malawi, need I say more?

The others religions have less of a hurdle.

I like the followers of the great woodchuck.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Justin,

We're not quite on the same wavelength yet.

Joseph Smith claimed to be a prophet come to restore the true faith...

Muhammad claimed to be a prophet come to restore the true faith...

And so on.

The wavelength is tuned to the "founder of the religion."

The worst Jesus ever did was take a horsewhip to moneychangers and convince his followers to swipe a donkey for him to ride into Jerusalem.

My late husband had relatives who were missionaries to the Cherokee in the Carolina/Georgia area. They lived WITH them, married Cherokee wives(which meant they were required to marry their wive's sisters)and when Jackson forced the Cherokee out, they went with their families, friends and congregations, all the way to Oklahoma. Where the older brother became the first elected chief and negotiated with the US gubmint on the behalf of the Cherokee.
I hardly call that rape/massacre/pillaging...
And NOT ALL who call themselves Christians will be standing before G*D! Remember too, the puritans and pilgrims worked with the tribes AND trained native pastors!

I'd have to go with the Hindu or the Mormon.

Scientology is not a religion, just read anything about L.Ron Hubbard. Beak, when you come to NY I will loan you my book about him written by his son.
Moderate Muslims are still between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Islam.

Justin,

The argument of Joseph Smith, and Mohamed, are no more a silly point, than trying to argue that Christians came to kill Indians, it was a War, people died, move on!

I'm all for a good debate, I think the link between Smith and Mohamed is a good argument, not to say I totally agree with it, but it's not a illegitimate argument, just because you may disagree with it.

Comparing the Self Righteous Land Grabing Christians to Mohamed or Joseph Smith is just as valid. Of course it was a war, after all the Indians were defending their lands and way of life. So my comparing the Christian actions to Smith and Mohamed is not a illegitimate argument just because you may disagree with it.

So what Joseph Smith and Mohamed killed a few people. It was a war people died, move on.

Now that makes about as much sense as your statement.
