Closing up shop in Vermont

I appologize for the delay in posts. Those of you whom I correspond off line know my time in Vermont is near an end. Sunday will be my last trip to the Kingdom and the White Mountains.
I do not envision a return to the North.

I have had a love hate relationship with Vermont. I love most of my coworkers, but hate the fact I am not home. I miss NYC, the NY Sun, WABC radio and Mark Levin. I miss Chinatown, ethnic food and my family especially the beloved Rav Roov.

Those of you who know my full storyknow I have been there twice when my city was attacked. The building I now will be working in is target number one. I could go three for three, but I do not fear such unknowns.

I imagined myself a pariah at work. In the last round of hires a nasty clique of people targeted me. I found myself in trouble for things I never did. People who were up for the same job made up stories and said things that were blatant lies. The cycle is repeating itself but I am immune as I was hired in NYC.

Over the past few days many people have embraced me. Several people who worked with me told me that they never believed the ridiculous stories. It is very sad that some of them are now targeted by the same crew that targeted me. I am lucky to have had such wonderful friends who stuck by me. Many of them stated frankly, that they never heard a curse word or anything inappropriate in two years. Sadly, in the eyes of some once accused presumed guilty.Things were never as bad as they seemed, but I always got the worst of it. A feminist diatribe was taped on my desk. I changed the pattern I walked and worked and still my accuser placed childish notes in my path. I asked for a move to defuse the situation but was turned down.

In the end I never spoke to those nasty people and perservered.

I will miss my many friends, but will always remember the malicious streak in some. I always helped those who asked and management enjoyed my humor. There were some bad stretches and the help of some of my coworkers, blog family and real family helped me get by,

My story is not over by a longshot, and there will be new chapters and adventures. Maybe I will meet Jason or UI back home. I will be in Staten Island very soon

I had troubles like that at a previous job. Buch of he said she said garbage trying to get me fired.

I flat out told my boss that he could fire me for anything, but if I was fired for that I would whip his ass right there on the spot for insulting my honor.

I didn't get fired.

When I first started out in teh UK Immigration Service back in 1985 I was posted to Dover, our biggest passenger ferry port. I hated the place and jumped at the chance to transfer back to London. Okay Dover was not as far from home as Vermont is to NYC but I still didn't enjpy living there...

There are some real pains in the neck out there. Think that they can only get ahead by tearing other(better)people down.
I had a supervisor from Hell as my last boss at Harris, 3 yrs. later when my hubby was laid off, so was he...I got my revenge, my hubby led him to the Lord! LOL! Perfect!
Anyway, hopefully you will be working with a better group of people and can leave "most" of that nonsense behind!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

I can't complain about my supervisor. He is as decent a man as I have ever worked for. The problem is the government rules and regulations and labor practices. Sadly, the Union is aware of some of this.My Union rep was aware of the situation, but said that it was not serious enough to intervene. No formal charges were pressed.

Passion is good.

Jason I thank you for your kind words. I never went native while in Vermont.

Mr B

Part of the problem was we have a system that allows annonymous complaints and does not use common sense. One woman was responsible for 60% of the complaints in a building with over 100 people. However, it did not view her inability to get along as a problem.

My journey continues to NYC. I will be sent even further from home to school in GA for seven weeks, TX for two and KS for another two.

Beak,
I rejoice with you that you are returning home. "There's no place like home." Sure, it's a trite saying, but it's true, nevertheless.

Will Earl be around to bid you good-bye?

New York will be happy to receive you, Beak.

Welcome home to crazy town!

Earl is living with my friend Neil.
He calls him something else. He visitied me in the park yesterday.

UI

I am a NYer no matter where I go. I still have the accent and the mannerisms. Vermont was a great place with one or two exceptions, but it was never home.

Beak,

Maybe one of these days I will come up to NYC again. There are several people and you being one of them that I'd like to meet if I ever go up that way. I am actually trying to find an old navy buddy of mine with whom I served onboard Forrestal with. Last reports were that he was on the NYPD in Brooklyn, but trying to find him via the NYPD is practically impossible for now.

If you or anyone knows how I can find this guy more effectively pls email me bassizzzt@yahoo.com.

Welcome back to NYC, I love that city too, and I am not even from there.

I ended the relationship as soon as I found out. She thought I was taking her with me. I paid her landlord three months rent, bit it isn't as much as you think.

She has allready had one heart attack and is working on number two. She didn't take the news well as it usually is her storming out.

Her needs are greater than I can provide. Hopefully she will get her life together. I do not envision her alive in five years.

Hey, Beak...what food will you have to go get right away when you're back in NYC? What will you miss most about Vermont in general?

I will miss the scenic beauty and the wonderfull rivers. I will not miss the insects.

I will go to Mi Bandera for Cuban food in Union City. Cuban food and Cuban Americans are favorites of mine.

Shame on Commies for abusing such wonderful people.

Oh, yes..you have great taste in food (i'm a big foodie)...we have VERSAILLES here, a Cuban restaurant whose black beans and plaintains, crispy pork and rice would make you weep. That salty pork and sweeet banana flavor combination is sublime, isn't it. Enjoy, Beak.....Have never been to Vermont and can only imagine how gorgeous the scenery is. Thanks..!

I once had a co-worker try to slander me to my boss. He didn't realize that I had know my boss for years before I ever went to work for him.

The next day the guy was looking for another job.
