Haiti and America

There will be a move to grant Haitian in the USA temporary protective status. Cash remitances sent back home are a major source of income. Haiti has been handicapped by political opportunists, corruption and instability.

There are those who point to Haiti as a disaster. The problem is not the Haitian people as the best and brightest are apt to depart and become US citizens. One can find plenty of businesses in Brooklyn and elsewhere owned by Haitians. Like many others they decided the opportunnities were better in the United States.

Maybe a simple way to help Haiti is to create a business zone. The zone laws of workplace and employment will be under foreign law with taxes paid to the Haitian government. Haitians would work there and pay taxes as well. Investors could be lured by tax breaks. We can start by increasing the quota of goods of clothes that may be imported from Haiti.

Haitian People!

Such a heartbreaking tragedy. Today I held and kissed my 2 mo. old Grandbaby and told him how precious and lucky he was to be a little Comanche Onaa(baby) living in Oklahoma in the Great U.S.A.!

I got on my knees and prayed for the little ones......the grief has got to be unbearable.......

Wow, fist Pat Robertson and now Rush the Vulgar Pigboy. Right wing keeping it classy.

"Yes, I think in the Haiti earthquake, ladies and gentlemen -- in the words of Rahm Emanuel -- we have another crisis simply too good to waste. This will play right into Obama's hands. He's humanitarian, compassionate. They'll use this to burnish their, shall we say, "credibility" with the black community -- in the both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country. It's made-to-order for them. That's why he couldn't wait to get out there, could not wait to get out there."

A HATE SITE!

Pat robertson uttered a stupid statement or preached a stupid sermon, yeagley parrots him. Even President Obama made a statement responding to this devil.

I think he is just one now, hopefully no one will encourage his hate against the Black people of Haiti.....oh I forgot about Ray, his friend of over 30 years. They remind me of ying and yang.

We just need to help and pray for these people, forget their color.....No, they are a beautiful people no need to forget the Color!

Beak, where would these business zones be created?

Will the businesses pay to develop power generation, sanitation, transportation infrastructure etc?

How would the weak government of Haiti deal with an influx of people to the area swamping already inadequate facilities?

Why not just set up in China where you have all this and a literate work force in place?

You see, laissez-faire capitalism is unable to solve this problem but thanks for playing.
