Happy Birthday Sprite

The beloved Sprite will have a birthday over the weekend. As this is also Yom Kippur I will be pressed for time.

To the Duck.

I spent some time with the freaks and losers at the downtown sit in. I can state with certainty these are first class imbeciles and dimwits. AOW and I went to a Tea Party event and one found well mannered friendly folk who were civil despite my being somewhat to their left.

I wrote a small piece about looking for loonies at a Tea Party event and not being able to find one. That post was picked up by Free Republic. I found Commies and a disturbing amount of Paulistinians at the event. Those who think the Paulbots belong in the GOP should interact with them when they are not trying to hide their animus. The classic canard of the Paulbots are Neocons are linear descendents from Trotsky. Thus the evil Jewish Conservatives are diabolically linked to the Satanic Evil Joooish Communist. When you start hearing about Neocon Cabals and Zionist media you are on a par with the folks at Stormfront minus the usual ZOG rants.

I found the freaks in seconds and it did not take too long for the usual mania of the far left about Jews and Israel to manifest itself, carrying a Mark Steyn book does help.

You'll see the Sprite for her birthday?

From what I've been seeing, the underlying theme in these supposed "spontaneous" occupy groups ultimately is anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian.

The self hating Jew rants again. Why not tie a can on it or haven't you figured out that you are part of a miniscule group that sees Judaism in all things.

You evidently haven't seen the latest from the trout guide. He's bitching now because some health care workers are crossing the picket line. Evidently healing the sick and saving lives should take a back seat to furthering the cause of property theft.

Oh well, happy birthday to the Sprite, anyway.

I have a question for you that none of the Teabaggers seem to want to answer.

Why can't the Teabagger "movement" come up with a conservative candidate for President? Why are they running interference for the moderate Mitt Romney?

AOW

I will be there today. She is a good kid.

Duncy

There are many adjectives that can be used. Self hating Jews are people like your friend Capo Ren who need to sell out Jews so they can claim imaginary revolutionary authenticity. My kind usually likes
to place steel toed boots on the posterior of commies when they veer
into lawlessness. Hatred of Jews is central to you and your kind. Terrorist loons smack planes into office buildings and your kind sees Jewish plots. Commies are fond
of Jewish cabals in media and DC to
explain everything.

Rita

Sad but true, but this group is hands down the lowest collection of IQs I have ever witnessed.

The Trout is a moron. There will be no general strike except in his imagination. I was with a real union preparing court papers. The job of unions needs to focus on the workplace.

Mr B

Why are you down on Cain as he is ascendant. He is clearly no moderate and has an amazing bio.
I wish you could have listened to the John Batchelor piece on Cain.

I don't like Cain for three reasons:

1.) He believes the 1st Amendment doesn't apply to everyone. Your right to religious expression and assembly must meet his dubious "community approval" scheme

2.) He's ignorant of the history and issues involved in Middle East relations, which is simply pathetic given that that's been a cornerstone of American foreign policy for over 50 years

3.) He advocates a return to the gold standard, which is shorthand for admitting he's clueless about even basic economics. A gold standard would deepen and lengthen the recession even further than Obama's stimulus spending theatrics.

If the Teabagger "movement" was ever conservative, it certainly isn't now.

Is Herman Cain a Pokemon Tournament champion?

SecondComingOfBast said...

I'm fine with Cain's stand on Islam, I just wish he'd be consistent about it. They're not just a religion, they're a radical political insurgency, so fuck their religious freedoms. I would also hold him to his earlier promise not to appoint one of the ragheads to his cabinet as well.

Other than his backtracking on that issue, and his curious statement that his first choice for VP would be some Frankenstein's Monster composed of equal parts Romney and Gingrich, on balance he's pretty good.

In fact, with me its between him and Bachmann. I would also be fine with Perry, though I worry about his ability to carry himself in a debate against Caliph Obama.

If Romney gets the nomination, damn good chance I stay home or vote third party. I won't be the only one.

Beamish,

At lot of those "in" the TPM never intended to back a candidate for POTUS. Rather, TEA stood for Taxed Enough Already.

I think that the TPM has been co-opted since those days when Beak and I attended.

And, frankly, I'm not sure that a lot of those "in" the TPM have much political knowledge.

Just my 2 cents, of course.

Always On Watch said...

Oh, and one more thing....I am no longer a "member" of the TPM. I guess that when I quit responding to their emails I was dropped from their "rolls." Or something.

Of course, I haven't responded at all to those emails since Mr. AOW had his stroke in September 2009.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

I lost interest in the TPM when they started pulling all that "we're not united, we're not a single group" nonsense when it came to vetting out their miscreants (read: Ron Paul 9/11 troofers and Mark Williams types)

They're the monolithic Tea Party "movement" when it comes to being the reason Republicans took back the House of Representatives or whatever, but when it comes to answering for something, they disown each other faster than embarrassed judges caught in a prostitution ring.

"That was some other Tea Party group..."

Whatever.

Cain is trying to sell you a book more than he is trying to find supporters both political and financial.

He's somewhat less serious about getting elected President than I am.

SecondComingOfBast said...

Cain was not and still is not my first choice, but if he gets the nomination, I could vote for him. Romney or Huntsman, not so much. I guess I could do it, but other than making the supreme effort to drag my ass down to the polling place to vote, depending on how long the line is, that's about all I can do. I couldn't make calls or knock on doors for them, and I won't be doing a lot of blogging for them.

The Tea Party's main focus is on curbing government growth, taxes and regulations. With most of them that may be their only focus. They're not in the process to promote social conservative issues, or even to promote America's standing as the so-called "leader" of some fictional "free-world" that only exists in national security conservatives and neocons fever dreams.

The Tea Party is not a party, or an organization, it was never meant to be. We've had enough of that fucking follow your leaders shit. The Tea Party is what used to be known in other times as the "Sleeping Giant" and "Silent Majority".

And yes, if the Republicans expect our votes they'd damn well better kiss our collective ass.

Beamish,
In my experience, conservative populist groups have serious problems. Some "go off the deep end" into what is unacceptable to those who joined early on.

As for Herman Cain, well, I think that he might turn out to be a contender. We shall see soon enough.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

In my experience, conservative populist groups have serious problems.

Like cognitive dissonance. Populism is not, has never been, and can not be conservative.

The populist "People's Party" of the 1890s was left-wing, agrarian, and anti-business.

It replaced the "Greenback Party" of the 1870s which was also a left-wing movement.

Other populist movements were Theodore Roosevelt's Progressive Party and Huey Long's "Share Our Wealth" movement, both left-wing.

George Wallace's "American Independent" party was populist, left-wing, and has has more purges, factionings, and name-changes than any other populist movement. Today's "Tea Party" movement sprang out of this meandering mass of twittery.

This is because populism is demogoguery and noise signifying nothing.

Upon discussing politics with a Teabagger, you must first get them to admit how long they've been an idiot. Otherwise, you'll never have an honest, respectful discussion.

Their main focus has attention deficit disorder. Right now they're trying to get Mitt Romney elected the GOP nominee.

Yes, Beamish, and when they succeed, you'll vote for him, so why complain now?

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

I wouldn't vote for Romney even if the Teabaggers were not putting up candidates more liberal and leftist than he is for him to knock down.

But that's my point. I judge trees by their fruits. If the Teabaggers were conservative, or even knew what conservatism is, they would have skipped backing Ron Paul, Donald Trump, Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain, and Rick Perry, and found a conservative candidate.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Having failed to find electable conservatives at the Presidential level, the Teabaggers will now see to it that those 23 Democrat Senator seats up for grabs remain in leftist hands.

For every Marco Rubio they come up with, they'll come up with two or more Sharon Angles and Christine O'Donells and Scott Browns that are either unelectable or RINOs.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

If Hillary Clinton were running against Obama in Democratic primaries, there would be no Tea Party to fuck up the GOP primaries.

SecondComingOfBast said...

Beamish, you'll vote for whoever the Republican Party tells you to vote for. I've heard all this shit before.

By the way, there's people who strongly disagree with your assessment of Christine O'Donnell. That would be the roughly two-thirds of Delaware Republicans who preferred her over the liberal Mike Castle. Do you think maybe they might have a right to decide who they want to be their party's nominee more than you?
