Nostalgia

I am amazed at how much I enjoy watching classic sitcoms from when I was a kid. The ones I seem to enjoy the most are Happy Days and Family Ties. Perhaps one day I will get around to satirizing that with the Beakerkin Mighty Arts Players. Mr Beamish plays the Fonzie role as the Beamer. My self as Richie and the Duck as Ralph Malph. The Duck
could be called Shmucky Duck a failed comic nerd who becomes a commie because he has nothing better to do and is inept at anything else. Pottsie is played by Beakerambo
who can sing very well.

The funny thing is that one can still recall even minor characters like Arnold, Melvin Belvin and Officer Kirk years later. Of course the new version will have Kirk ranting about Commies and the Duck hiding under the table. Everyone knew Fonzie types were not commies as they lived real lives and held real jobs. The show did get that wrong but we will make the correction as Commies are nerds who can't get real jobs without the Old Bolshevik network.

I hate sitcoms in general. They're a waste of time. Most of the shit isn't even funny. A great clue would be when you have tapes of people laughing to let you know a joke has just been told.

Ah, the old sitcoms!

I miss The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

That show stunk. Retro TV just started showing Naked City and Route 66. Still pretty interesting shows and their location shooting (French New Wave inspired) hasn't really been equaled. A lost art.

Both Happy Days and Family Ties are shows that had leftist writers that tried to instill leftist principles in their plots. There was a segment on Fox where a former producer talked about how they did that. Michael J Fox's character was supposed to be the "bad guy" because he was the conservative son of an aging hippie couple. But he turned out to be the breakout star of the series. Even back then Hollywood elites were out of touch with mainstream America.

Evil is always more entertaining, Pagan. It's the old "Paradise Lost" problem.

Yeah but he didn't come across as evil, he came across as the kind of guy most Americans could identify with. Not solely because he was a conservative, but that was a part of it. Bottom line, this is a center-right nation and its probably always going to be that way.
