This book is poignant and in places hysterical. The appropriate people get skewered
from Bill Ayers to the imbeciles who lump the French Revolution with the American Revolution together.
There are some slight errors with the book. There are some quotes that Thomas Jefferson was not exactly supportive of the mess in France. It is true that Edmund Burke knew the difference, but Charles Fox did not. Then again when one reads the full bio of both Burke was a deeper thinker.
The book provides little that I did not know. However, it is presented with an acerbic witty tone. It is okay to laugh at Weathermen blowing themselves up with their own bombs and proclaiming themselves heroes. It is correct to be outrages at a system that hires domestic terrorists in higher ed. Coulter correctly notes more people died at Waco under Reno than Kent State.
If you are a history wonk you won't learn much but you will have a great chuckle in many places. Any book that ridicules Bill Ayers is worth reading.

The Right of Privacy and Asylum
There seems to be some confusion about Asylum and the DSK mess
1) The accuser does appear to be a warped criminal. This is information that was gleaned through legitimate investigation into a criminal case.
What annoys me is the attitude of this person that was granted a privaledge based upon fraud. Apparently, she feels it is also OK to lie on her taxes and get housing benefits she has not qualified for.
Just what group of losers, have been championing Immigration as a right? The far left rips up the social contract and twists asylum law into a joke and the rest of us deal with the consequences.
2) It is never OK to release information in Asylum testimony to the especially considering this person was a crime victim. Law enforcement has zero reason to look into what essentially is sacred private testimony.
If criminal actions warrant a second look it should be done quietly and discreetly
by a trained asylum officer and or immigration judge. The applicant should be represented by competent counsel who is familiar with the laws of asylum.
3) It is unlikely that even were the benefits stripped that this person would be returned to their country of origin. Good luck finding another country that will accept a pathologically seedy person.

Being a Socialist means you get to trample the rights of others and talk of ignorance
This is a rant about the Socialist Worm DSK and the asylum sysytem
1 Asylum cases are decided before an aslyum officer or an Immigration Judge. The case is long decided before it comes to the local office where the officers at that level determine if the person is eligible to formally adjust. Unless the person has major criminal convictions it is a mere formality. The key word is CONVICTIONS not charges.
2 The contens of n asylum claims are sacred. Officers may not discuss them with each other save where a legal point is in question. We never ever discuss the specifics of an actual case. Releasing the information on a crime victim is a severe violation of the privacy act. Anyone familiar with asylum claims will tell you similar fraud is very common. The applicants are 90% economic refugees with a BS tale of lies spun into a poor mix of cheap theatre.
No doubt if the laws werte applied correctly 95% of asylum seekers wouidn't make the grade.
3) The person has lied about many things and likely has engaged in rampant criminality. This does not infer that she lied about being raped and even if she was a hooker this changes almost nothing. This does reduce the credibility of witness before the legal assasins. A similar look at the life of DSK reveals he has problems that make Clinton look like Pat Boone.
4) The statements of lefties like the Duck with the far less credible Duke Rape Case should be examined. Abusing and exploiting minority women from the lower class seem to be OK as long aa a socialist Baboon is the perpetrator.
Any concerns about working class people are mere trivialities.
5) Perhaps the only good that might come from this is an intense look at the asylum and refugee program that needs to get back to helping worthy people flee persecution
and not economic charlatans with BS stories.
Do note another disturbing bit of news is the commnts about someone claimuing to be Muslim getting drunk would have been crucified by HR. We are not a theocracy and Muslims and other religious people do fail to uphold their faith. The possible money laundering, tax fraud, benefits fraud, prostitution could have been gleaned without going anywhere near asylum testimony that should have remained private.
A crime victim does not deserve to have their privacy violated to protect a distubed serial predator who espouses leftist cliches while abusing and exploiting the workingh class people who they lecture the planet about.
On a personal note the usual rants of the Duck are basically good for cheap theatre.

The World Of Beakerkin
Being a Dad is not easy. One has to compromise and do things one would ordinarily avoid. As a father we tend not to think of what items we transmit to our children. In most cases it is innocuous like, my daughter learning to love the local Greek Dinner where she is treated like a diva. I cringe when she asks for crusts cut off her bread or extra sprinkles as I am no maitenence.
Odd things like where we travel do have an impact. My daughter learned about Union Square by accident as I take my little dog to the dog run there. For me the area is like an old home. The Strand, Forbidden Planet, Barnes and Noble are familiar haunts. I can often be found sitting on the steps or nearby Washington Square reading the NY Post or a series of never ending books.
For my daughter the area has an interesting playground an amazing frozen yougart truck. She loves the area, albeit for vastly different reasons. Unfortunately, she wanted to go last Sunday when the local nearby Gay Pride March aka the World's Fair of Bad Taste was nearby and a really stupid environmental fest was in the Park. I chose an approach that would avoid the march. The only comment was "Dad those guys dress funny". My reaction was simply a smile and a gentle nod.
Interestingly, I was more bothered by the environmental fest for its blatant attempts to brainwash children with music, puppets and scare rhetoric. I had a talk about jobs and political activists seeking power by scaring the public.
The passage of Gay Marriage in NYC was inevitable. A politically powerful minority pushed a law that was really not wanted by the public. A vote on the issue with Civil Unions as an option would have revealed the publics true sentiment for acknowledging them as humans but keeping far away from the state sticking its nose into religious terms.
As an officer I am unusual in that I welcome the change so that I do not have to see the comedic Will & Grace farces. I cringe at laws that make otherwise law abiding people into criminals. As an officer we see parts of people's lives for better or worse. The gay asylum cases are ususally a source of pride as it is one of the rare times the asylum laws seem to get it right. The cases are well doccumented and the applicants are credible. My views are not the norm as officers in general are hesitant and cringe at change.

Prof misses the memo
There was a news item about a FDU Professor who was arrested for running a brothel in New Mexico. The Pofessor is in hot water for practicing Capitalism. Had this person set bombs in the name of Marx he would be fine. Obviously this Professor has missed the departmental memo about practicing Capitalism. Maybe this person should ask Barney Frank for space in his townhouse.

Dad's are heroes
I spent father's day with the Sprite. Dad's perform an odd role. We never rise to the level of Mom no matter how messed up or bizarre she is. Yet at our best the gentle steadiness provides the room to grow.
I took the Sprite to Coney Island to the amusement parks. The rides are super expensive and to be blunt mediocre for the cost. The exception is the Cyclone that is timeless.
The Sprite is enjoying having me around so I do not write as frequently. She is learning my tricks. I really do not like curry except on potatoes and it is served daily. I made an instant NY Deli bag with a loaf of rye, smoked turkey breast, fresh coleslaw, NY Deli Mustard, barrel pickles and Russian dressing so I can avoid daily curry. For safekeeping I labeled the bag dog food. The Sprite quickly figured out the
bag was not dog food. To keep the joke going I would give the dogs some Turkey.

Kids come first and foremost in my community and amongst the Guyanese holding a series of parties is much more important. I have little desire to waste my time at these parties when child care is required an hour or two tops.

Been Away for a while.
I have been spending time with my daughter full time. It is the happiest I have ever been in my life. Spending time with my daughter and the Maltese is special even if she does not let me listen to Surf Music. The truth is that Surf Music is the greatest music for long drives. Weiner vs Clinton
Anthony Weiner did not commit a crime of any sort. His etghical lapses are nowhere near that of Charlie Rangel or either Clinton. Nobody has accused Weiner of rape and his behavior is creepy and boorish as oposed to Clinton's crimual antics. Wiener is easy to hate as he is arrogant and a nerd in the most charitable descriptions.
If Bill Clinton, Rangel, Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank were permitted to continue their careers with more serious ethical lapses so should Weiner.
The tabloids and politcal cartoonists should start a Wiener in 2012 campaign.
Actually if Wiener went on Saturday Night Live and made fun of himself much of this could be spun. We would see a real man who messed up and we could laugh with him and see him as more genuine than most politicians. The ratings of SNL would soar and he would have a national audience. Of course his PR people are likely old school and this is beyond their grasp.

Darkest before the dawn
I look back and am amazed at where I am today. I have never been happier than spending time with my daughter, the Sprite and the little Maltese. I bought some chicken breast from the butcher for the little guy.
I spent my birthday with my daughter remembering a different world I lived in. Maybe the greatest mistake we ever did was allow lefties to denigrate motherhood and make the stay at home mom seem irrelevant.
I lived in a world where mom was always there. The Sprite's mom works nights so going to the play ground is a treat even if it is with dad.
The new world is not better than my era. The video games are better but the music is dreadful and the TV is not as good as Happy Days, All in the Family and Kojak. The era where all the kids had a sibling or two has been changed to only child.
Are we better off today than in the 80's or 70's? I don't think so. The Obama economic mess has good people doing nothing. The workplace is nastier than its ever been if you have a job.

Today is my birthday. It is also thye birthday of John Wayne, James Arness and Guyana. I am celebrating with the Sprite and the little Maltese at the Greek Place on Lefferts.
In bizzarre news that did not make the MSM Guyana arested a spokesman from the NOI on terrorism and drug charges and let him go. Akbar Muhammed was released and has not decided if he will ever return to Guyana. If hedoes not return the nation of Guyana is improved by his absence.
Compare the lack of news to Israel not allowing genuine apologists for terrorists into its borders such as Finky. No doubt Gnome Chimpanzee neeeds similar treatment for his delusions of relevance. Havel spent years in jail and the Chimpanzee spent his time in the faculty lounge upset that a peasant might have looked at his parking space.

French Buffonery
The French have discovered that the food in Rikers Island is not high quality. Jail is not meant to be a four star resort. No doubt the verminous politician will likely pay off the victim who will disappear from view. Of course buying justice is okay when the sexual predator is a socialist.
The nation of France should hold its head in shame for the media treatment of the victim who just happens to be an African Immigrant with AIDS from French West Africa.
Perhaps there are those on the left who view themselves as neo royalty free to abuse the poor peasants as they prattle on about "social justice" in the name of the poor with whom they know less than zero about. Media BS
The sex criminal politician just happens to be a SOCIALIST. Now whenever a scandal real or imagined has anything to do with the GOP the papers place GOP all over the place.He was exploiting the working class far worse than the capitalist owners. Socialists should never be allowed near banks, young children and small animals.
I returned from the Bronx Zoo with the Sprite. She is not easy to travel with and rushed me through everything. The Madagascar Exhibit was amazing but she pushed me through this visual wonder in less than ten minutes. The World of Darkness closed due to budget cuts. I am hoping they build something like the Madagascar exhibit with Indonesia in mind or a huge Amazon themed building like the one in DC in its place. The world of Darkness was revolutionary in its time and I always enjoyed it. However, it has not held up over the years. The World of Birds also needs a makeover.
I am also disappointed in that there were no Aligator Snapping Turtles on display.
The Sprite had her face painted to look like a butterfly. Apparently she has something against the undead. Perhaps we can make a spoof dawn of the Undead Marxists for next Halloween.

The Military does its job no matter who is in office
The US military does its job no matter who is in office. The media has largely been silent about the Obama administrations increased use of drone strikes.
The Obama saga raises many questions about Pakistan. It is inconceivable that the government had no clue where Osama was. Pakistan needs to produce Dr. Zawaheri and Muhlah Omar yesterday. There needs to be congressional hearings onto the topic of who in Pakistan protected and sheltered Osama.
At some point the civilized world needs to have a serious conversation with Muslims and their leftist agitators. The era where mindless slaughter of civilians as a publicity stunt is over. Lefties like to pretend that the government of Syria, Lybia and yes post Nasser Egypt have nothing to do with Arab Marxism. The truth is that the age of mindless lefties pushing Arab rage against Jews does not get Abdul a job. If Abdul and Fatima have jobs and are working then there is no time for anticivilization mindless hate preachers to spread mayhem. Of course creating jobs in the Arab world is a tall order, but future peace depends on it.
The Obama saga raises many questions about Pakistan. It is inconceivable that the government had no clue where Osama was. Pakistan needs to produce Dr. Zawaheri and Muhlah Omar yesterday. There needs to be congressional hearings onto the topic of who in Pakistan protected and sheltered Osama.
At some point the civilized world needs to have a serious conversation with Muslims and their leftist agitators. The era where mindless slaughter of civilians as a publicity stunt is over. Media morons
I have been on record opposing the claims of the birthers. I have not seen the names of the doccument experts or qualifications of those who have proclaimed this doccument genuine. In the past I have been hostile to birthers as some of them are indeed racist.
The doccument has anomolies that do warrant a full investigation at the document lab.
The term African was not used in 1961. This could bwe a clerical oddity or something greater. The self proclaimed media experts have zero qualifications in this area. This is done by a narrow team of professionals from an original in a lab.
Sorry, just as the birthers can't wish a doccument fake, the Obama labotomy media serfs can't wish it real without forensic examination. Given the anomoly this doccument does need further review.
My daughter visited the Greek place twice. I expected a disaster but she ate waffles with fruit and had fries and a grilled cheese sandwich the next day. The owner and waitresses took special care of her.
Onto fast food news.
The UTZ Crabseasoned Potato Chips are out. Every year a good buddy tries to find them
and usually succeeds. I bought six bags. Also of note are the amazing Honey BBQ Cheese Doodles. My daughter loves those.
Given the choice between fast food and the Greek Dinner I choose the latter. I like spinach pie and mousaka. However with a Hindu daughter I won't be seeing the latter.
On personal news I won a commendation for my service. Those whom I talk to off line know which communities reccomended me for the award. Remember officers are heroes and bird brained Marxist doodlers may only dream of being relevant.
