The Shutdown

I have mixed emotions about a government shutdown. In the event of a shutdown I likely will enjoy a short vacation. It is quite confusing how my agency which is fee driven is
supposed to be shut down.

Having not worked for government I would point out the excesses of unionism. However having been on the front lines cronyism and mediocrity of unaccountable management is a serious issue.

Bottom line is the unholy cabal of soft labor deals and limitless entitlements is over.
Those on the responsible left grasp this and folks like the Duck need to be sent to Hugo's crack den.

You aren't an essential worker, "Officer"?

A vacation?

A paid vacation?

I favor furloughs without pay; otherwise, no actual saving is occurring at the government level.

AOW

I need the time off paid or otherwise.

I am more essential than a hack doodling instructor. My agency is fee driven and not impacted by these events.

Laid off workers still draw unemployment. The only way to solve the problem is by a freeze on hiring, buyouts and early retirements, and finally, transfers from one department to another. Just think how much money we could save on Defense just by putting a freeze on hiring civilian employees at the Pentagon, etc. Some agencies and cabinet departments should be eliminated. Looking at you, EPA and FDA.
