Painfully Blunt Immigration Talk

I seldom write about immigration and lawyers. I hope that somehow this reaches its intended audience.
The intended audience is the American people and those who want to join our family.

Prior to becoming part of the system I had my fair share of stereotypes about lawyers. The standard refrains are all lawyers are crooks in training. Yes, there are bad lawyers, but they are in the minority. There are plenty of bad teachers, policeman, accountants and immigration officers. However, the fact that there potentially bad ones out there should never deter you from getting proper guidance on a life changing event.

Lets also leave out the notion that immigrants are a saintly lot of ignorant people confused by the system. Many of them make stupid choices and knowingly take false paths to get a green card via fake asylum claims, temporary worker scams, fake employment cases, fake marriages, adoption scams and the fiance shortcut. When I get a huge file on my desk most of the time it is because some dimwit took a short cut or decided they don't need expensive lawyers.

A fictional example of a contrived case is person  Z from  the country Uncoutholand. Z entered the USA in 1992 and he found a shady lawyer promising to help him get a green card through a work  related visa as a mule skinner. There may actually be a plant that employs this type of trade, but is Z qualified or intending to do this job. Does the USA posses ample low skilled workers to fill this job.  Z is not specially qualified for the job and knows it. We allow the immigrants to feign ignorance for their
role as unknowing victims but the reality is more complex.

We think of the above as a victimless  crime but it is not. Z has cut the line at the expense of people who have played by the rules. His application is a waste of resources that delay other peoples cases. On top of this many people like Z have the nerve to file mandamus lawsuits and run to a local official. I have ample sympathy for those with ordinary cases who do these things. People whose cases have layers of fraud are the first to complain and complain the loudest.

My experience with democracy

I ran for Union office and lost. Unlike the other candidates I did not campaign actively and chose to speak about age discrimination and workplace bullying at the debates. In fact I stated that my sole purpose was to raise awareness of these issues and challenge the real candidates to address the issue.

Unlike the other candidates I congratulated the winner thanked my voters and told them to support the winner. I would have had headaches had I won.

Hugo

Hugo was a thug criminal who fouled everything he touched. The planet is a better place with his removal.

Stand by Our Allies

If the demented government of Argentina makes any military moves in the Falklands the US needs to stand firmly behind its ally. Any nation that gets involved in this dispute such as the one run by the nearly expired Hugo ,Infidel Castro or Iran should be subject to immediate US reprisals.

The planet will be improved when Hugo is gone.

Very Odd

The local newspapers did not list which group the members of the Chasidic couple who passed away belonged to.Tthis couple tragically died on the way to the hospital for prenatal care. It is a sad tragedy because according to media accounts this was the rare mensch in a community of jerks.

The Satmar Rebbe and his followers remain pariahs for various reasons. Their clown like leaders can go to hell. I am familiar with their tradition of visiting sick people in the hospital. I hope that if I ever end up in the hospital God should call me to the afterlife before one of their flock fouls my day with their presence.

The community has gotten away with too much gross behavior. It is time that the rest of the Jewish community hold the vile cultists accountable for their scandalous behavior. Gov Cuomo needs to send his investigators to Kirias Joel and crack down on welfare fraud and stop property tax scams used by this cult.

Who needs Al Qaeda for this

The latest news story says Al Qaeda magazine offers advice on how to cause traffic accidents. Given the normal bad driving habits of most Americans this is wasted magazine space. This is akin to the folks at Al Qaeda taking credit for traffic jams in places where they are endemic like the LIE.

Perhaps they will take credit for Obama making the State of the Union speech when NCIS was scheduled or for RGIII's injury.

The Sad State of Pro Sports

Long term readers of this blog know that I am a fan of the NFL. The huge numbers NFL rookies make are investments. It is acceptable to do all types of medical and mental health tests. However, it is just wrong to ask if a player is gay. In a league where criminal behavior is not uncommon and having scores of kids out of wedlock are common a gay player is a minor issue at best.

The NFL researches the players and their families. The fact that a player comes from a family where his mother may be a drug addict is a real situation. There are tactful ways to talk about these issues and some of the NFL scouts miss the point.

The NFL is a crazy game and it is sad that your most valuable personnel may be Sid in accounting to manage the salary cap, Lisa in human resources to psychoanalyze which players may be worth the risk
and Victor the team lawyer who helps keep players out of jail.   

This may sound unpopular but given the investments some players should be working with mental health professionals. Perhaps if there had been close supervision and early treatment noted talented failures like Lawrence Phillips and Charles Rodgers might have had better careers.

Obama Fatigue

Note the one item China will never hack is Obama's teleprompter. The Chinese, Iranians and Russians must be laughing at our clueless President slashing defense and wrecking the economy with a health plan that has killed jobs.

I can envision some Chinese Hacker inserting Buy Chinese into the teleprompter or my underwear is three sizes to small and Obama reading it. Obama is akin to electing Ted Baxter President. 

Your future

It is always tempting to look abroad to Europe for what lies ahead. In the next ten years as Europe becomes more Islamic polygamy will become legal. Already at the furthest reaches of the left in Sweden this is being discussed.

The USA will not likely get to that stage for another 30 years or so.

On a liberty based standpoint those on the left are a tad odd. It is acceptable to limit the size of a beverage and tax fast food but sexual liberty is a given.

Societies adapt and change but life seems best when households are basic couples that want to stay together long term. Larger groups just seem inherently more unstable but that will be for future generations to decide.

Tour of Duty

I am up to episode 30 out of 58. The second season is interesting but one of the mistakes the show made was by writing out the Baker character for comic relief. Now I do remember watching the entire season in first run . At the time I watched the second season and expected more action from the two part opener. The second season is more about psychology and the episodes are still worth watching but are not as good as the first season. The exception is episode 27 with the deranged sniper Sgt Block, The episodes are good because they are fresh. I never viewed them so they remain interesting.

Thus far the best episodes

1) The episode that tells the tale of the Montangards. Communists feign outrage about the treatment of indigenous people in American history but abuse them in the present.

2) The Season One finale that has the platoon capturing the same hill 3x. The war objector saves his peers and is badly injured. This is the last time we see Horn who was the best scripted part of season one.

3) The USO episode where the singer Long John looked and reminded some of Jim Morrison. In this case an epileptic becomes a rock musician after flunking out basic. He participates in a firefight and thinks he is invincible. He gets a friend killed trying to retrieve a saxophone. He sacrifices his life to save Taylor.

4 Sgt Block. The sniper becomes psychotic and has to be put out of his misery.

5) The episode where the Communist Doctor is ordered to kill Prisoner Taylor. The tunnels are portrayed pretty well.

Spent some time with my daughter

It is just amazing watching her grow and being there. I took her to the Greek place up the block. Being Dad is the best part of life.

I watched the first three episodes of Tour of Duty. Back in the days the guys would get together get a pizza or a couple of Blimpie sandwiches and watch the show. It holds up well over time and I am amazed the show didn't run longer.

A Note To Harry's Place Visitors

This blog is basically a diary. There are sometimes political posts or comments on the times. The topics
are varied and there is everything from book reviews, satire and personal stories.

The intent of the blog was to do comedic comments on the political scene. Amazingly, at the start we were attacked by Gay Palestinian Activists from the UK. The blog grew more political and found a niche.

There are very few rules here and you will notice the blog is in moderation. It was placed in moderation because a criminal leftist spammed this site, violated my privacy and threatened the family members of my friends. You are free to do as you like as long as you respect the privacy of others and refrain from criminal threats. You are free to comment whatever attacks you like so long as they stay within those rules.

Writing the Final Chapter

I am not a Catholic but I applaud the Pope for showing us an example of grace dignity and humanity. All of us deal with aging and the issues that come up as the end of life nears. The Pope is a modest man who chose the needs of his congregants over shallow egotism. He made a personal decision he felt best for his congregants and himself.

Let him enjoy what time he has remaining to pursue whatever he wishes.

All of us should remember this as we write our own final chapters.

Wow

I took a ride home on the Ferry. The fog was so bad I could see nothing in the harbor. Normally, I can hear the progress by listening to buoys and terminal signals. Unfortunately some Central American clown went haywire. His panicking got others upset and if it were a real emergency would have caused a stampede.

I am reading Prisoner of Second Avenue

As I get older I want to read the plays of Neil Simon who captured the era of NYC in the late 60's and 70's in his plays. Prisoner of Second Avenue is especially poignant in the Obama train wreck economy where hope of better days is a pipe dream.

I will write my own Beakerkin spoof with the mighty Beakerkin Art players called Prisoner of Union Square. Union Square is gentrifying and techno hipsters are replacing commies and gays. An aging Communist film professor finds himself laid off in the Obama economy. There will be all types of cameos by A listers and perhaps even an appearance of Beakerambo.

Making the NFL Safer

Contrary to popular opinion the risk of concussion is not exactly where people think it is. Defensive players who lead with their heads especially safeties and LB who run up and tackle  people  headfirst bear the brunt of the risk. Changing kickoff rules for players who seldom play is not the answer.

The NFL has to rethink its head gear and type of game. As deep posts and high impact hits are the norm the problem will get worse. Those looking at Earl Campbell should take note. His ailments are not concision related they are orthopedic. Walter Payton died way to young to evaluate his health. It would be interesting to see the impact on Running Backs, WR who tend to fare better then defensive players.

The NFL is a great game but it needs to rethink its equipment.

The Jeep Ad

Isn't great for a vocal Obama supporter to rail about bringing the troops home in a Jeep ad. The left undermined the war effort and cut the armed forces and wraps themselves in the flag.

Welcome home to an America where you have been downsized after your efforts. Welcome home to a nation where jobs are like leprechauns and Obama is looking to legalize millions to compete for those jobs that don't exist.

You could go to college on the GI bill except Obama's University fat cats jacked the price up. When you get there expect verbal abuse from Obama's cronies in higher ed. If by some miracle you find a job
your paycheck will go to Obama care that was supposed to cost less.

America will be back when Obama gets another job.

Arabian decline

Oddly, the Saudis alone appear to have understood about overplaying the oil card. The problem is when a commodity is too highly priced alternatives become reality. Thus when gas was cheap there was no need to develop alternatives.

Arabs used the oil weapon to fund their allies in the left.

Now with the advent of Shale Oil the demands of the Oil exporters are over. The first casualty should be Venezuela when oil revenue dries up Chavezism should go with it.

Just Scary

My niece is doing a paper on conditions in the garment factories. Her focus was the era of my Grandmother in the mid twenties. It was scary that I could fill in many of the blank spaces from my days in the 90's. The faces of the people working in the sweat shops had changed and the locations had changed but I could describe the places. For the most part I worked in the warehouses and visited from time to time. However, I was there enough to understand the conditions. I didn't think much of it then but now these factories are overseas and the conditions are likely worse.

RIP Ed Koch

Ed Koch was the rare Democrat you could respect for their integrity. He started NYC in the direction of recovery but was undermined by the media following the death of Yussuf Hawkins. The media allowed Jesse Jackson and a few other race hustler to inject racial garbage into the mayoral campaign.
The city narrowly elected the dignified but incompetent David Dinkins. He meant well but couldn't run anything. His actions in the Crown Heights riots led to the victory of Rudy.

Koch made an error in endorsing Obama. Obama made some phone calls to get Koch into a hospital and Koch felt a debt of gratitude. Koch looked at the appointments of Obama and stated I expected Obama to betray Israel but not this soon.

I have never seen a beat down as bad as the one's Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham delivered to Hagel.
Of course this circus clown will get by on professional courtesy.

Violence over Soy Sauce and Underwear

There are those who live in fantasy worlds of simplicity. In these fantasy worlds domestic violence is a heterosexual thing. This may appear so because there are more heterosexual couples but domestic violence is a human issue and does happen to gay couples.

Kwame Harris had a reputation for being strange when he played in the NFL. He was from Stanford and very bright. He was drafted high and did not exactly have a great career. Now out off the police blotter is a bizarre fight over underwear and soy sauce that resulted in a hospitalization.

Domestic violence doesn't fit into a neat box. Kwame Harris may indeed be strange, but it likely has nothing to do with his orientation or intelligence. Domestic violence can occur in penhouses, housing projects, religious sects, communist cults, housing projects, agrarian communities or suburbia.

In general we have to grasp that violence on a personal level is just unacceptable. If you are really that upset just walk away and don't return. The only time personal violence is acceptable is to save lives from criminals or in service for your country.

As I age the small stuff like the clown who has been lifting one or two of my Mountain Dew's from the refrigerator go. Life is too short to waste energy on small things.

The next time you get upset walk away. You can buy another bowl of rice or pair of underwear. You can't buy self respect or dignity. It would be great to see one of these out of control  celebrities say I was out of control there was no excuse for my behavior and I am going into therapy without a PR strategist pointing the way.

Note to Dumb Corporate Fools at CNN

You are tired of your bad ratings. Of course you can try changing the faces and you will get more of the same. If you want to get ratings hire conservatives and stop carrying water for Obama. The problem is that CNN is offering the same product as every other news outfit and viewers have no reason to watch.

The problem is when the network is so closely identified with an unpopular President and makes no attempt at balance there is no reason to turn it on.

There was a time when lefties thought they understood justice. The examples from UC Davis and to a lesser degree Canada show why they don't.

Thuggish leftist clowns occupy a public space and harass Jews. No doubt if this abuse were aimed at Blacks, Gays, Communists or Muslims those on the far left would grasp the concept. A seizure of a public space is not to be confused with Free Speech. While one is in a free space anyone may film and record the activities. The fact that lefties don't want events filmed should cause all of us to ponder what events are taking place.

The students are free to protest, write ill informed and ignorant drivel in the University Paper. However when groups physically remove others from a free space and target Jews they have just violated several rules.

The ringleaders of this occupation should be suspended for one year and any student involved in violence should be expelled.

don't have the right to silence lawful speech. I sympathize with gay rights in general but actions like this make gays look bad. The issue should be argued as personal liberty, human respect and none of your business as opposed to Marxist victimology.

Alan Dershowitz has done some great things. However, looking for a retrial for the predator Weberman  would end his legacy on one sour note.

There are indeed grounds for a retrial. The trial should be moved out of Brooklyn. The Satmar are despised by those familiar with their antics.

A miracle in NYC

Normally, in NYC we are used to turnstile justice. We have grown accustomed to criminals getting away with crime.

103 years is an amazing verdict considering cop killers typically get 25 years to life in this state. This verdict is a reaction to the disgusting treatment of the victims family by the Satmar community. Calling a rape victim a whore and threatening their families is disgusting behavior that all of us should be outraged by. A community that protects pedophiles and harasses victims of pedophilia is a sick group that should be reviled by all.

If NY had a functioning adult as governor. the Satmar Rebe would have got an earful. Unfortunately, NY has Andrew Cuomo who is more interested in trying to outdo Obama on gun control and get kudos among the elite national press then governing. Sadly, Michael Bloomberg has not been vocal enough on this issue as well.

My Solution to the SWP Problem

Across the pond there is a severe problem among the ignorant followers of the planets greatest imbecile Lev Bronstein aka Trotsky. He gets hired into a University and teaches a political course for 12 years without publishing a single peer reviewed article and maintains his job. He sat in a racist anti semitic church for two decades but managed to not hear anything.

Obama has managed to get over 90% of the Black vote while conditions in the Black community are worse then ever. He managed to get elected despite doing everything in his power to keep unemployment high and exacerbate the global recession.

Who needs Trotsky the mendicant when you can worship Obama instead.   

Frum Zombie Retards

Once again the Frummies have invaded and really don't grasp that I hate them. I merely was annoyed at them up until this summer when they invaded and placed me through hell for 16 weeks. Of course none of this happens if asshole relative doesn't procrastinate and cost her kid a summer job. Of course the moron does and her son needs to attend a special yeshiva only found here. The entire family of religious mendicants stays for 16 weeks while I roast in hell.

You can't enjoy a normal meal because they bring their religious idiocy with them. Of course the Sabbath ends and they stay until the last possible second and do not leave until 3am on Monday. Their kid is said to suffer from Epstein Barr but I swear it is from messed up religious parents who keep the kid up until all hours of the night.

I have grown so disgusted with these relatives that I purchased a cemetery plot in Guyana to escape these morons.

The subject of religious people showing absolutely no consideration for others never gets discussed. They think they have a divine right to piss people off. Don't they have other relatives to annoy.

I am  just perplexed how and why groups as varied as the Boy Scouts, Yeshiva University and now the loathsome SWP have failed basics in handling sexual abuse cases. Part of me is just floored at how much abuse is out there and has probably been there for years.

Of course we have the antisemitic Duck with his snide remarks about Hasidic Jews. However, now we have a case of a Communist group messing up almost as badly if not worse then the Satmar. The Satmar do not claim to be revolutionary agents of change and thus their fall from grace is much further. Previously we have had the antisemitic freaks at OWS failing miserably at this.

First Lesson Rape is a criminal matter that should never be investigated internally. Rape investigations should only be handled by trained professionals who understand how to prepare a case for prosecution, question all relevant parties and prepare a case for a judge. The penalty for rape should be jail time not expulsion from some wacky cult of Communist fools. Actually there are some who would pay to be banished as a badge of honor. The SWP could even market certificates of banishment if they fall short of cash. For $100.00 you can be expelled with a formal decree and for an extra $100.00 we will throw in an expelled mug and T-shirt.

Second Lesson: Investigation into abuse needs to be conducted externally by trained professionals working with law enforcement most of the time. Reading the Dimwitted SWP star chamber admission that all of us knew the accused and describing the complainant as that woman are naked admissions of bias.

Twice in my lifetime I have run across people who later turned out to be child molesters. I remember feeling sick to my stomach that people I knew could do this. The warning signs were there but I missed them. If a person makes multiple jokes about under aged girls stay alert. In the second case the person was a sexual animal that appeared to sleep with everything, but his wife. Even the other day when I discussed this with coworkers they were shocked. Real monsters don't have signs on their heads that they are sex fiends. One loses perspective by working closely with someone and you delude yourself that someone you knew couldn't possibly do this.

Third Lesson: In sexual harassment cases the proceedings must be transparent. The whole matter is best investigated promptly. While there are some people who make up fake charges these cases are minor. If multiple charges against the same applicant are made then chances are overwhelming that this person is a problem.

Well this bites

I don't know what messed up programs the phones used but the facial recognition technology matched my facial features to Grace Kelly and the Cary Grant. I think the app is measuring symmetry and where
the features are other them mass.

Not on this crash

I have spent time with folks I haven't seen in 25 years. The family next door moved in on the very same day. It was tough to see a person I have known all my life pass away. I grew up with her children.

I was amazed to see a peer from next door. I am almost mortified by my hairdo at 13. I must be unusual in that I think very little about my childhood. I am not the type to reach out on Facebook and reconnect  My friend had a visitor who was in the kindergarten class with us. I was there but do not remember many of my classmates. I do remember my sweetheart from that class and she lives up the road.

I am amazed how when I look back my thoughts are more or less directed at the Hotel that is long gone or days in the Catskills.

Time is funny because although I have lost some hair and added a few pounds the there is next to no gray. My great grandfather died at 90 with almost no gray hairs and my grandmother dies at a similar age with none..

Maybe I am unusual in that I don't really think of the past. There are times folks track me down and I am mostly embarrassed at the lack of thought. Perhaps other then my time as a fashion executive I spent my days like Ringo Star surrounded by more interesting people

I was not on the Ferry that crashed. I got calls from Guyana and many other places.

The folks that are next door and are aware of my family history had a few laughs at my expense. Apparently, they are perplexed at how I became Guyanese. Usually when I describe the family overseas I describe the family in Guyana. Folks at work have laughs about that one. Unfortunately, when we have diversity fests I get listed as Belorussian, Ukrainian, Polish, Austrian, Hungarian, Turkish, Israeli, Russian but I state Guyanese. I apparently do not look Guyanese, but these people have never met a Guyanese person. Actually, when I was in country and someone asked, I joked that I got one head two arms two legs and pointed towards a man with one arm. Obviously he is not Guyanese.

Walmart unusually stupid

We usually have the highest respect for Walmart and I do own stock in the company. I was quite surprised to find a costume for Grand Rabbi being sold on its site. This is stupid and offensive and above all else a valuable waste of space that could be used to sell products that kids want.

Last I checked Walmart doesn't sell creepy Communist outfits. It would be great to dress kids up as Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Fidel or Che and entirely appropriate for Halloween.

Walmart could have made even more money by selling a Michael Moore larda$$ suit to the kiddies. Zombies are currently in and a Bill Ayers and Dorn set of costumes would be great sellers. Ayers swears he has never been a zombie but John McCain described him as a "washed up terrorist".

The Final Chapter

A woman who has resided next door has passed away. It is tough to say goodbye to a person you have known your entire life. She kept her illness quiet but it was known in the area. Why she worked almost until the end is unknown.

Then again how we write that last chapter is up to us.

For the second time Rav Roov will have to deliver a eulogy for someone he has known for decades. Most think it is best to have a clergyman who knew the deceased perform this function. The sermon is more personal and moving. In those cases it was the request of the deceased themselves who knew the final chapter was near.

Quit Bashing RG3

RG3 tried and posses a giant heart. He wanted to win and give his all when his body could not. If he didn't posses the spirit or drive to overcome he would be a lesser person.

RG3  and America are lucky the injuries were not worse. He does posses the requisite skill to make it as a pocket passer. Lets hope that we see that down the road and continue to enjoy the charming athlete with the heart of a champion.

Wagon Train

I was watching Wagon Train on You Tube. Fans of John Wayne movies will recognize Ward Bond. I watched a hysterical episode where Wally Cox turns everything upside down. Indians hold children and Wally Cox wants to solve things peaceably. He does in a hysterical bit of comedy using science and music.

Wagon Train also has what is likely the last appearance of beloved comedian Lou Costello in an nontraditional role. Here he plays the charming drunken father figure to a runaway girl. You also see clearly that if cast in the right role he could act.  

The Rape of the American Taxpayer

The greatest failure of Romney was his inability to explain that those of us who remain employed are going to be burdened with higher taxes for his idiocy. Obamacare has helped perpetuate unemployment and has exacerbated the rise of part time workers.

Obama continues to do nothing about the costs of higher ed and even go near featherbedding. The latest batch of students may not see work in their majors but have mountains of debt. Of course it is easier to blame the banker then to blame over paid lazy faculty like our own Ducky.

The jobs won't be there. There will be more people legalized to apply for the few jobs that remain and wages will be in the toilet.

A story about love and acceptance and a special girl

There are some imbeciles who portray Judaism as a racial supremacy type of religion. My mother and father are traditional liberals who supported Civil Rights, but were anti communist.

My daughter is different from us in many ways. She is much darker then even my brother who is much darker then myself. She is sweet in nature and more into crafts then books. My brother and I would read books that way ahead of schedule. We come from a very proud tradition of intellectual debate and love of arts and letters. My daughter does not come from those traditions but has learned to appreciate a classic musical and is perplexed by my loathing of Streisand.

As my parents age and they work less the phone calls and visits from my daughter mean very much to them. My mother seldom gets angry at me and she let me have it when I told my daughter not to bother her with crafts. My mother was going in for a serious procedure and at such a time making Jello with a sincere nine year old seemed silly. My mother saw her right away and spent time in the Kitchen making Jello before a major medical procedure.

When my daughter encounters people from the community they are very loving towards a sweet kid who is different. Maybe, she lacks the reading ability of members of my family and she also lacks my mischievous
sense of humor, but she is good natured. If anything members of the community have reminded me about patience and that the abilities displayed by members of my family are exceptional and not the rule.

My daughter may not be book smart but she has learned to observe things in an almost officer like way. At a
community event she noticed that members of the local community are very respectful. I might be in the Kitchen creating some monstrosity, but I take the time to listen to a neighbor confused about law. I sometimes even let them share the meal and am modest about it. My poor kid can even repeat the part where I explain about law being a confusing process and its no trouble. She does prefer to let me talk in businesses but is not shy among my friends and family.

One of my first bosses lives by Coney Island. He is in his seventies and has no family. My daughter was like a ray of sunshine to this friend. It seems absurd but he enjoyed playing Ski ball with two grouchy old timers and she made a sand castle or two to the amazement of this friend. It meant very much to him and my daughter got to hear stories of long forgotten entertainers and how physically strong I was. He is like an extra grandparent.

It comes as a great shock that some people are making odd claims about being pressured to marry Jewish due to the Holocaust.  Even the family of Rav Roov is very respectful of my daughter. I avoid contact with them because at times they appear socially backwards. I am pained often being frum translates into selfishness, cluelessness, cultural ineptitude and lack of graces.

The moral of the story is that members of my family and community accept and welcome my daughter despite her differences in appearance and abilities. We accept and love her as a sweet kid. Maybe the only thing she ever learned from me was be yourself and don't apologize for it. It also helps if you are naturally good natured.

I remember a previous relationship where my lack of religious conviction was twisted into my being amoral
and unfit to be around kids. The criticism hurt at the time and I took it to  heart. I remember AOW saying the
whole thing was silly. Yes, I do spend time with the daughter and am very loved by the step grandkids even if they raid my stash of food. I remember a rant about NY Deli pickles and letting one of them steal a few packs of Sweedish fish. How the kid even figured out what was in the wrapper was priceless. She pronounces fishes almost like the word feces.

The kids listen as I tell them stories about the strange people that live in the land of snow and beer.It is an amazing place where neighbors help each other and the very poor live off the land. I remember joking about female neighbors skill with chainsaws and firearms during Sandy. That being said I never saw a pink chainsaw but I saw all types of women from smoking hot babes to ordinary grannies use them.

I talk very much about being an officer that sometimes reading this blog I am also a family man. I remember the top boss being very charming and patient with my daughter at an event. Officer Beakerkin, I didn't know you had such a wonderful daughter who loves you very much. I guess those that see me slaying dragons and serving the public imagine me differently. While being an officer is part of my existence being a father and grandfather is even more important.

Maybe you know you are old and certified when your dreams go from sexual conquests to reliving a day at the amusement park with the kids. Maybe you are old when your most cherished possession is a hand made fathers day card instead of a stock certificate.

Never, planned on being a father or thought I would embrace the role. I remember my parents, AOW and close family friends telling me you will do fine just be yourself. Just being yourself is how I live my life and parenting style. Like any other parent I have my moments like the time my daughter stole a spinach roll from me at Ben's Best Deli on 38th. I remember the waitress cutting me off and saying having a daughter want spinach is a good thing. She also ordered another one on the double. Maybe someday I will take some of the older grandkids to Bens Best.

New photos in the office

I have decided to place a photo of Wally Cox in my office. As a young child watching the Hollywood Squares he was a funny man who sounded like Underdog. Over the years I have grown to appreciate his subtle brand of humor. He was typecast and it is fun watching him turn up in strange places like Lost In Space, Bonanza and Mission Impossible.

I found two episodes of Hiram Holliday on the Web. Unfortunately, they only made 23 episodes of that show. Maybe someone will get all of his work together in a DVD collection including Mr. Peepers.

On the town

I have a nasty cold so my trip into my past was short. I visited a place I worked twenty years ago and said hello to old friends. It is odd that I moved on from that world of Fashion into a vastly different field. Having an education prevented me from being typecast.

I went to Ben's best for my New Years Day Lunch. One half a sandwich brisket, matzoh ball soup and farfel
wich is called egg barley. I make a variant of this at home with chicken soup. I prefer Bens Best but my daughter likes Daddy creating a meal.

I went to the comic book store and then to the hardware store. I passed my college and saw the faces looked the same but I am much older.

I took the ferry dismayed at all the stores and places I remember that were a part of my life that are gone.
There were the bookstores, hot dog vendor, barber and many others who just packed it up in Obama's economy.

Another year that I hope will be better, but with Obama running the show not likely.

RIP Jack Klugman

I want to thank Jack Klugman for hours of entertaining us as Quincy and Oscar Madison. The original Odd Couple was the first TV show I loved as a kid in first run. There were other good shows like All in the Family, Sanford and Son, MASH and Happy Days but the first one that I loved as a kid was the Odd Couple. Off  screen Klugman and Tony Randall were best friends and would remain best friends for the remainder of his days. They are both gone but TV fans will always have them in reruns. I think Al Molinaro
and Penny Marshall are the only people associated with that show that are still with us.

Klugman was more of a straight actor and he found fame in Quincy. He played everyone's favorite Coroner
and Ducky from NCIS is a distant second. Quincy fought the system he cared and yes there was liberalism in the scripts but it was well written and entertaining. Quincy was what a good detective show should be about good writers, great actors and character development.

I hope that when you reach heaven that Tony Randal is there saying Oscar, Oscar, Oscar what took you so long.

Guns and the Beakerkin

I do not own a gun or plan to in the future I want to spend this Christmas Eve venturing into my past to a simpler time in the 70's. Elvis had a recent hit Suspicious Minds, Paul Harvey was on the radio and Casey Kasem was a newbie.

My family was in the Catskills and it was a magical place. I played with cousins in the woods. We picked pots of blueberries. I fished in the lake and caught a sunfish. my first fish. I learned to hit a baseball about the same time. We made go carts like the kids in the Little Rascals.

My grandfather was visiting and he was a favorite of the kids. He was a strong man who was gentle and rarely angry. He would say his wife's name and any argument stopped. He was a former cavalryman who fought in the 1920 war for Poland. He hated war and oddly horses and had more respect for the loving dog.

Rusty was mostly Sheppard and he was the best dog a kid ever could play with. We didn't realize it but the loving dog was herding us as we walked. He never needed a leash and would follow us through the woods.
He was a decent sized dog who just loved kids as opposed to the smaller dogs that didn't.  Rusty would protect us if a stray or a drug impaired hippie wandered by. His gentle demeanor would change and the hippies would stay far and he would transform back to Rusty.

My grandfather taught a young kid to shoot. It was a supervised activity and the message was very clear even for a young child. The gun is a serious tool only to be used to protect the family and your country. It was never to be picked up when angry or drunk. Practice was like craftsmanship and only paper targets, cans and bottles were acceptable targets. Even hunting for food was discouraged because a tasty chicken was cheap and easy. He would admire the grace of a passing deer and send a warning shot at a pack of stray dogs that were close. He would always send the shot just short.

Today this is what sickos like Michael Moore call gun culture. Shooters and crime don't have anything to do
with families teaching their kids to use a gun. It was part of growing up not too much different from learning
to swing and ax or use a circular saw.

I wish I could return to that era if only for an hour. People sat outside and played scrabble and made campfires. The food was fresh and handmade and the music was beautiful. Willie Mays was at the end and Booby Murcer was my hero. The tube radios pulled in baseball games as far away as Cleveland on some nights. There were a few radio shows still around and Cropsey stories. Grossingers was up the road and the Concord was going strong.

Blaming guns for media manufactured messes

The media has been in an Obaama inspired mania about gun control. You see the familiar pictures of Obama racing to the scene of another gun crime using the dead to push a message. Of course we see the familiar talk about gun control.

In the current era school shooters grasp that the media will turn the shooters into celebrities. The reason these shootings appear to rise is due to the 24/7 news culture. What America should be screaming back at the MSM is look at your own practices.

When The Musics Over Turn Out the Lights

Sometimes I am amazed at the way people face their final moments.A lifelong friend is in the final act and she is working until the end of next week. She has about a month or two more before the final curtain. I guess I would use my time differently like going back to the jungle one last time.

I guess all of us face the final curtain differently.

Obama wrong as usual

As usual Obama gets up in front of the camera and rails about guns. Once again guns are a convenient topic that the all knowing leader wants to discuss. Obama and his big media elite vampires campaign on every one of these mass killings in an effort to push an extreme agenda.

The real story in these mass killings is the failure of our mental health professionals to address a time bomb. All of these killers were well known to various mental health providers who were once again unaccountable and not under any investigation.

Dear Marc Goldberg

This is in response to your condescending BS article addressed to my nation on behalf of "all the sane persons of the planet".

Sane people usually grasp that they speak for nobody other than themselves. Your condescending rant about
the American people and our love for guns is full of stereotypes. As an Israeli you should be very familiar with the sort of rant you directed at my nation. I am the first to defend your country from this type of rant and will continue to do so. I also do not lecture Israelis or any other nation with democratically elected representatives about their internal politics. Those matters are reserved for those who live there each and every day. Were I to visit your country I would not comment or feign expertise that I do not posses about its people and legal traditions.

The issue is no longer gun control. It is your obnoxious tone  and disrespect for a country and its traditions. Even those who support gun control in theory have noted your condescending arrogance and ignorance of our traditions. A wiser man would apologize, but it is apparent you lack both the intelligence and the class to do so.

The so called American correspondent talks about Americans obsessed with guns. Americans are obsessed with all types of things if you don't believe me kindly visit Comicon, your local auto show or memorabilia store. Guns owned by collectors are almost always legally owned and very seldom ever involved in a crime.

It is clear you are not familiar with the American people and our legal traditions. I suggest you stop reading Huffington, Mother Jones and similar sites and do boots on the ground insight. Kindly, come to NYC and visit high crime areas, then get in your car and watch and listen to the people around you. Spend some time in a small town church, a truck stop and visit a NASCAR event. Unlike you I don't feign expertise in local matters when I travel and insist upon visiting strange places like barber shops, local markets and small stores.
The locals warmly remember my visit and have asked me to return multiple times. Unlike you I don't pass judgement on other people and enjoy my visits in a respectful manner. It also helps that apparently I eat like a local deity and share whatever odd foodstuffs are in my bag with the locals.

There are ways to discuss a point rationally and logically. Insulting and stereotyping people you are clearly
not familiar with is not a good idea. Kindly ask one of your socialized medical practitioners to remove the boot from your backside and try again.

Cliche Idiocy At Harry's Place

A prime example of outrageous cliche Anti- American bigotry is on display at Harry's Place. A Post by Marc Goldberg addressed to America and signed by all the sane people on the planet is on the current site.
Unsurprisingly, this is yet another mindless rant by a foreigner stereotyping Americans about the subject of guns and gun culture. What makes this rant unforgivable is that it was penned by an Israeli who should be very familiar with condescending ill informed rants from arrogant people who claim to speak for the entire planet.

I was hardly shocked by the brilliance of Michael Ezra who objected to the tone. He likely supports gun control and the substance but the tone is beyond acceptable. Those of you who read this know I am not a big second amendment guy. I do respect rural people who own guns and live in a culture where gun ownership is a rite of passage. I support the rights of homeowners to keep weapons locked up. In a home with severely mentally unstable residents this may not be a great idea. Maybe the time has come for national training and psychological testing. New gun owners would have to pass a test similar to a driving test with the focus on storage and maintenance.

The deranged comments about Americans obsessed with Guns comes from the American correspondent who seems to base his ill informed opinions of his countrymen based on Michael Moore films and Huffington.
Amazingly Gene, who is a dual national, fails to grasp what is so offensive about a post signed by all the sane people on the planet.

The topic of gun control is a serious issue that is best left for municipalities to decide for themselves.

I was glad to see many of the non Americans object to the tone and stereo types in the post.

Running For Office

I did ponder a run for local union office on a very low level. I found my name linked to insurgents when I am not one of those. The incumbents gave me a lecture and treated me like Judas. Then why don't you run with us. I pointed out I am running my own campaign as an independent on the lowest rungs. I endured attacks about my sex life. Pretty much in the mind of the incumbents if a man and woman are friends they must be sleeping together.

Of course a racial angle was added. Having an Indian family was added to a curious mix. The insurgents who  I have never met just happen to be white. Thus the insurgency is a white plot ...... The reason you have Indian family is because you are not a real Jew. If you were a real Jew .... This is quite a curious way to treat a supporter.

In essence I declined the nomination for the low post. Despite demonstrating once again that these charges flung at me by the union were incorrect I get accused of "being shady". If shady means that I think for myself 

then it is accurate. 

I do have some ideas that I would like to see implemented. I would like to have low level functionaries at every work site and one per every 50 employees. The functionaries would serve at the grass roots level as the face and ears of the union. They also would be conduits of information at the lowest level.

Well Done ESPN

First I want to say that all of us should root for people like RG3 who are positive and make watching the  NFL a great experience. The era of the "Black Quarterback" is a thing of the past. It is great if kids of all colors look up to RG3 or Tim Tebow as great role models.

The fact that an athlete has a spouse or fiance that is racially different is frankly not the business of the anyone
other then the athlete himself. We saw very little said about Tiki Barbers firet wife being Asian or second wife being white. Barber is a world class jerk and RG3 is a positive fun loving guy.

There is no evidence that RG3 is a Republican. If it were this is none of anyone's business. He certainly does not talk about this. The notion that requires all Blacks to think the same is racially offensive.

Certain athletes lend color and fun to the game. Martellus Bennet's off beat personality is certainly entertaining. At times the passion of a Brandon Jacobs led to problems but give me heart felt passion over apathy any day of the week.

True Cornballs like John Madden, Michael Strahan and Terry Bradshaw make the game fun. Lets enjoy the sport but also never forget it is entertainment. All of the above are mostly positive for the game.

RG3 and Big media BS

There is more racially tainted garbage from the elite MSM media aimed at RG3. The era of the Black QB thing is an era of the past. There are those who still prefer the classic drop back approach to the lightning in the bottle style of the athletic QB. Note that there were plenty of White QBs who moved around as well such as Fran Tarkenton, Steve Young and Joe Montana. There were a few Black pocket passers as well namely Doug Williams.

RG3 is having fun in a positive way and is entertaining. The complexion of his fiance and his alleged political leanings are his own business.

Of course when Rush Limbaugh made remarks that offended some about Donovan McNabb he was run out
of football media. Do not expect the MSM to fire a writer over much nastier material.

I do not like the Redskins. However, I like RG3 and the fun and energy he brings to the game. He doesn't bad mouth others and is entertaining. People should be free to be themselves for better or worse. In the case of RG3 it is for better.

The side of the 80's not discussed

The latest institution to have issues with pedophilia scandals is Yeshiva Universities high school. Apparently, it had a couple of employees on staff with problems. Rather then prosecute these serial molesters they were encouraged to leave for other jobs.

What we are seeing from scandals with all type of organizations that the way things operated back then with child molesters was to kick the can down the road. There was the illusion that official X was doing important work and you did not want to ruin the career of X.

The abuse did not start magically in the 80's and appear out of thin air. In earlier times the people coming forward were likely seen as trouble makers. The priorities were to protect the institution at all costs and many of these scandals were likely not even investigated.

The history of the organizations charged are not summed up by their failures to respond to these problems. Many of the organizations did do much quality work in the communities they served.

Hopefully all of us grasp that kicking the can is no longer acceptable. All these allegations must be investigated by professionals and sometimes there will be false allegations. However, what is never acceptable is threatening or bribing victims as was done in the Satmar community.

Anti Child Abuse Activist Attacked

The antics of the Satmar community continue to get increasingly outrageous. Now Rabbi Nuchem Rosenberg who has been telling victims to go to the police has been attacked with Bleach. It is time for the politicians to step up and talk to the leaders of this community.

Weberman guilty

In a surprising verdict the jury found Satmar quack counselor Weberman guilty of pedophilia. The sentencing will be interesting and I hope he gets the maximum. He has expressed zero remorse and the community has intimidated the family of the victim.

I hope DA Charles Hynes gets his head out of his backside and offers deals to find out who was behind the intimidation of the victim and her family. What was the source of the 500,000 bribe? If it was the top leadership then it is time to place them on trial.

Of course the clueless followers will claim  the convicted is innocent. Sorry, but the days of covering up crimes are over.

Keep your eye out for a Presidential Pardon when Obama leaves office. This group supported Obama big time.

Limitations on private education.

In general I am an advocate of increased parental rights. However, the scandalous state of education in the Satmar community has changed my thinking. All students must be evaluated on standardized tests. The days of unemployable students must end.  Schools that consistently have students fail subsidized test close.

Schools need certified guidance counselors on staff. They must meet with every student for 30 minutes. The counselors must be trained by an appropriate institution and report child abuse.  Any student may request a confidential meeting with the guidance counselor.

Demand an end to Satmar Cult Bufoonery

Part of the problem with the Webberman trial is that it shed light into rather disgusting barbaric practices of the moronic Satmar cult. The Satmar is hated by the rest of the Jewish community.

The presence of a modesty patrol in the USA watching the clothing and social  life of young teenagers are disgusting. This if anything is a parental issue and not the business of self important freakazoid losers whose identity is unknown like KKK night riders. Now my religious relatives may be annoying and frumpy but this is not behavior they would condone or accept.

While I am critical of the therapy community the last person who should be involved with helping misguided teens is a circus clown like Weberman. Weberman has no training in this area and does not appear to have taken a single college course. He was a driver for a prominent person in the community.

The example of this communities reaction to the scandal shows clearly why this community is despised. Many faiths have dealt with child molestation. The Satmar alone have had an official spokesman call the victim a whore. The Satmar have tried to bully and then bribe the victim into silence. The Satmar abuse of the victim continues and is a warning to victims to suffer in silence or face additional abuse.

Compounding this scandal was the fact that the family of the victim was ordered to pay for the abuse so the victim could remain in Yeshiva. This part of the crime is particularly insidious and rises up to almost RICO proportions.

It is time for Gov Cuomo to get directly involved and order an investigation into the practices of this community. A community that has shown this type of intransigence and disrespect for the law and safety of children requires governmental intervention. The abuse scandals and reaction of cult leaders is more akin to Jim Jones and David Koresh then Judaism.

Where is AOW on this

The new reading list has taken classics out of the curriculum in favor of non fiction reading. It is important to convey the love of reading and To Kill A Mockingbird is precisely the type of book that imparts a love of the written word.

My daughter is an example of the new way that a love of reading gets imparted. Her grades in reading were always below grade level. She learned how to read by playing different types of video games that have extensive reading passages. The solution books are written on a reading level above grade level..

It is very important to impart a love of the written word early, The challenge has always been to hold the students attention. Assigning uninteresting non fiction tests in the guise of preparing students for work is exactly the wrong remedy.

If anything modern engaging classics need additional emphasis.

My Maltese follows me everywhere and even when I rest he is on my shoulder on the pillow. I remember when I had the flu how he followed me through multiple bathroom trips and kept the kids away while I slept. The dog was supposed to be a pet for my daughter but finds me more interesting. 

Demand a full Inquiry Into Satmar Community

A Reminder from the Gay Community over why Progress has been Slow

Every now and then the aspect of obnoxious childish members of this community remind us of why progress has taken so long. Today's headline is a demand Bill Clinton should apologize for signing DOMA. Bill Clinton and Barak Obama are great at making stupid apologies to the wrong people. Why Bill Clinton apologized to Africa for slavery when it was a cultural norm there is beyond me. Any apology should be directed at Americans. FYI Indians should get the first apology, but sometimes even then bad choices like staking your future to poor leaders like Joseph Brandt should be understood.

Over time my position on gay issues has evolved. This evolution occurred by meeting and talking to gay coworkers, friends and people in my community. Sadly we miss former friends Rob Bayn and Justin Morris but their example of talking to reasonable people with humor and patience over time was part of conversations taking place everywhere.

I want to point out the deranged antics of the far left members hurt the cause. Why even involve gay issues with toxic causes like Mumia, Communism and Palestine especially when the latter has a clear record of abusing gays. The temper tantrum antics of Act Up interrupting mostly Catholic services and blaming Reagan for Aids caused years of damage.

There are those out there who do hate gays. Talking to people who have hatred in their heart is a waste of time. Black people should not talk to KKK clowns and Jews should have stopped talking to Marxists stooges long ago. The conversation should have been held with reasonable religious people and civil unions would have been a realistic compromise.

I want to point out even in places like Vermont and NYC the abuse and hostile attitude that some exhibit towards gays is shocking and frankly disgusting. The question is would you have lunch with a gay coworker.
My response was why not. I don't delve into the private lives of everyone I take to lunch. If I did I would not
sit in at a meal with Communists or Anarchists first as they are pariahs. Someone in Vermont concluded I was gay because I was asked what would you do if you found you were in a gay bar. Probably, finish my drink, hope they weren't playing Bette Midler music and go to a bar more suitable to my interests. The amount of animus from West Indians who would end your career for imagined racism in seconds is shocking.
The belief that women posses gaydar is common. Perhaps some of these guys that are labeled gay don't like high maintenance divas.

Over time I have come to support gay marriage, but I would prefer civil unions. I don't like laws that turn otherwise law abiding people into criminals. The law should have reasonable options for those who live diferently. No denomination should be forced to alter scripture or perform gay marriages. However, any denomination urging criminal violence against anyone should  be dealt with. Usually violence is more apt to come from Muslims or Marxists then the 700 Club viewers.

Stupid comments from far left freaks have hurt the cause way more then bigots because these comments make gays looked deranged. In truth the people I have come into contact with professionally are just not exceptional otherwise. They are the person in the office three doors away or the lively person at the laundromat.

More progress is made when reasonable people talk then from years of activist rants.

On the flip side, it is rare that Christians and Jews who oppose gay marriage do so out of hate. One can see it in the tone and deal with it accordingly. Never apologize for being yourself, but understand reasonable people ( communists are never reasonable) can disagree.


 

Creating Odd Memories Unintentionally

Over the years I worked many jobs and did many things. We learn odd skills and really don't think much about them.

I was surprised that my daughter enjoys me preparing elaborate meals from scratch. Every year I swear this is the year I quit and let Bens Best make my meal. I don't care what the family thinks, Bens does it much better then I ever could.

My daughter prefers the theater of the absurd. I go to several places before I find the right turkey. If I were in Vermont I could just ask someone to hit it with a Volvo. Then I head to the gourmet shop and look for the best ingredients. Maybe one out of ten Texas White Onions makes the grade. I insist on Maine potatoes as anything else is an insult. I live NY or Vermont Maple Syrup and I found Honey from Poland to meet my standards. I try and find Israeli Citrus products and Florida for my Turkey.

I don't cook very often but when I do I insist on making a superior effort. So even when I make a turkey loaf
the ingredients and care take time. When its prepared on cookie sheets it cooks very fast.

I guess my daughter prefers watching me use long forgotten skill learned at Hotels that are forgotten memories. Perhaps the memories and knowledge imparted is more important than culinary perfection. I learned long ago never compare my grandmothers dishes with those found in Bens or Mendys. Unfortunately, I am thinking that it is the memories that color the holiday cooking. I prefer the classic perfection of Bens to my catching lightning in a bottle results.

Maybe my daughter will let me buy the sides at Bens for the winter holidays. She prefers to make Jello with tons of fruit and cool whip as opposed to the more elaborate desserts.

I find it odd that my daughter has no interest when her mother cooks West Indian style. Maybe it is the excitement of picking the best or that I am using skills from days long gone. No doubt she will learn my tricks and develop her own style. I guess you can't learn how to cook from great restaurant food and it doesn't make memories and perhaps that is what the holidays are about.

Who Killed the Catskills

One of the least spoken items that killed the Catskills resorts was the excessive property taxes. Most of the time when these resort hotels went broke the prime culprit was real estate taxes. In the case of the giant Concord Hotel this was a crippling blow.

The problem was the State and the municipality lacked vision. Long term the tax and social spending consequence of a giant employer failing was much more serious then the tax bills. The municipalities has seen ample examples of abandoned hotels and should have worked with the ownership on forgiving debts and encouraging maintenance of the facility.

Instead of having a giant employer who supported hundreds of families we have a pit of dust. Maybe the state will work to save Kutshers and restore it to its brilliance. Stevensville can likely be refurbished if the local community had vision.

 It is sad to look at the deterioration of Monticello and Liberty. Part of my dream was to retire there. Unfortunately, the property taxes and crime have turned that dream into a fantasy. Sadly, it was the place where I learned to love the land. Pretty much the lights went out when the Concord closed.

Very odd Harry's Place Servers Down

Harry's Place is a quality read if you ignore its American coverage by the gadfly Gene. The question of who hacked Harry's Place and why would require some of the best minds to come up with a Clue Version. Lets see it was George Galloway under the bar with a Merlot. It was Beakerkin at the Deli with Mountan Dew.

It will be back so fans of the posts of Michael Ezra, Sarah and others will get fresh material. We will also get to see Gene feign ignorance as the economy crashes.

Disappearing Worlds

I find myself floored at the amount of places that were familiar favorites that have gone belly up. The latest casualty is the Stage Deli. Ben Bensons and Ghalaghers will be gone soon. In Staten Island Golden's Deli closed and is missed. A Kosher Chinese place opened on what was a historically a family owned Chinese spot on Jewett and has been doing well. The food is better then the place that preceded it but I miss the old timers.

I went to the Catskills and saw all the great hotels abandoned. Kutshers is still there but barely like a ghost of the past. Oddly, the killer of those hotels were property taxes and deals should have been made to keep them going. Instead desolation and decay has set in. There are those who criticize tax breaks but those hotels  supported local families. The families now are on government aid. The hotels brought visitors to local stores, but they are memories now.

Even as Dirty Dancing becomes a memory and the Borsht Belt fades into memory like vaudeville we are at a loss for a better time in a more sterile less certain America.

Suing Therapists over False Claims

Bravo for the gay community for suing over false claims made by therapists. In a less political world marital therapists with records similar to Dr. Kevorkian get sued. Why would anyone listen to marital therapy from a thirty something who has never been married. Would you take flying lessons from someone who never entered a plane.

It is time the profession was held accountable for its carnage.

Premature Talk of the Death of Harry's Place

Harry's Place has been off line for a few days. Those on the far left have been voicing approval of what isn't likely the end of a decent blog. The snide remarks come from European critics who think any American to the right of Fidel Castro is a Neanderthal.

My issues with the site are its cartoon like presentation of American issues by the planets laziest blogger Gene. The site selected an off the map Big Labor Socialist who is a dual Israeli American citizen. What % of Americans are dual nationals? What % of Americans are Socialist or are Big Labor types? The framing of American issues on HP were literally framed from a series of Cut and Paste articles from Huffington with the theme Republicans are Stupid Anti Science morons and Obama is the Messiah.

HP ran a series of disgraceful posts about the Tea Party. There is not one bit of evidence that the author ever  attended a single event. This would have been fairly easy as Gene lived in DC and moved to the suburbs. Rather then attend a function and see who is there. I reluctantly went with AOW and was shocked to find mostly decent working class folk who just wanted fiscal sanity and growth. I have made similar trips to NYC
events and found very decent tame folks engaging in Constitutionally Protected Free Speech behaving lawfully.

HP lifted its coverage of the Tea Party from folks at Huffington who similarly don't get beyond a wine and cheese party in a social science faculty lounge. The theme is that if a single person at the a Tea Party event says anything questionable it tars every single person at the event. This is amusing as the number of posts related to this mania about the Tea Party likely exceeded 50.

Meanwhile it remained silent on the entire topic of Occupy Wall Street. Basically it ignored the most rancid forms of Jew Hatred outside of the Middle East and Hugo's failed Workers Paradise. Having spent plenty of time at OWS events it takes no effort to find Jew Hatred, Truthers, people rationalizing violence and a section of lunatics that want to create this generations Haymarket. 

There have been multiple links of OWS members to planned terrorist activity. There have been serious crimes including murder, rapes and large scale property damage at OWS. OWS is neither lawful, nor does banging on a drum while smelling like a landfill qualify as freedom of speech and HP remained silent. The European correspondents do deal with abhorrent behavior from the left as seen in the examples of the London riots. Gene does not do any posts that might make the domestic left look bad. He might do a few anti Chavez posts but that is about it.

Now if a quirky jerk at the Tea Party makes anything that could be construed as a racial remark the folks at HP brand the entire bunch bigots. The same crew turns this logic on its head when discussing OWS. The presence of individuals linked to terrorism, murder, rapes and endorsed by David Duke in his own words means nothing as it is a mass movement made up of many people... Sorry, but these dangerous ignorant lunatics have plenty of links to big labor, big education, big media, trustfundistas and yes the Obama connected ACORN. Obama cronies Bill Ayers and Van Jones have been involved with OWS. Obama gave initial support for OWS and switched the subject as it became apparent that regular folks had grown annoyed at the collection of dangerous lunatics.

The left decries the commenters at HP. One classic imbecile is the hysterical Josh Scholar who pretty much chalks up all opposition to Obama as racist. Another so called expert calls himself Vildechaya who is a Canadian editor who knows more about America because he lived here for three years. I pointed out that Canada does have its own issues with Muslim radicals and terror plots. Salim Mansur and Tarek Fateh both write on the subject eloquently. I got a nasty remark saying "Muslims in Canada keep their heads down". I confronted this paternalistic bigotry to which this jerk used some sort of weasel word bit that it is not bigotry.
The truth is that many on the far left have been playing nasty games with the most unhinged parts of the planet. As Dershowitz pointed out Galloway tries to be more Palestinian then Palestinians themselves. A few backflips about Saddam and Assad and a diet of Bad Jooo er Zionist. Maxine Waters similarly transformed violent criminals in LA burning and stealing into revolutionaries. Amazingly the Canadian ponders what do I know about National Security.

Actually, the way Gene frames the issues there can be no discussion of American issues at HP. There are plenty of decent folks and we don't have to agree, but it boils down to integrity. Ignoring OWS which was a huge issue while running post after post on the Tea Party and Glenn Beck is typical  for Gene. One post hysterically called Beck an antisemite for accurately quoting George Soros. Ask a Jew that practices the actual religion if they would rather sit next to Glenn Beck or Soros. Soros is so despised in the Jewish community that a group that lied about receiving his money had a major scandal. This is rather obvious to someone who has spent time with people who practice the religion as opposed hanging out with bon vivants over fondue waxing about Gore Vidal novels. You don't generally hear Mendy pass the fondue and did you finish reading that book by Norman Mailer in the modern Orthodox or even Conservative community. I only know a handful of radicals in that community as opposed to Patriotic Israel Supporting liberals like Joe Leiberman whom those on the left frequently tar as having issues with dual loyalty. Those on the left whose history includes lies about spies, mindless terror with no links to the Vietnam War and organizers of riots who chanted get the Jews should be the last to question anyone's loyalties.

You can search HP for any trace of patriotism by Gene who seems to think it is rather quaint. In fact you can read plenty into his silence by frequent remarks by Euros claiming patriots are Bubbas of the set of Deliverance.

The truth is that many hard core leftists are completely clueless and we can make our own hysterical cartoon versions. Socialites talking about working class people while living in a world as racially segregated as a KKK event. Lefties practicing New Age religion trying to communicative with Eugene V Debs with a set of crystals. Cocaine and booze are very common at these gatherings of ultra left gadflies. Now I don't like to point to cartoons. However, my cartoons were based upon actual first hand encounters. Your average Christian ( not Liberation theology fakes and Pastor Wright) believes in helping the poor as a calling and is less inclined towards hate then Marxist drones.

I hope HP returns soon and it rethinks the errors of its ways on its coverage of American topics. It is better reading to discuss actual events rather than cartoon scraping cut and paste from Huffington.

Satmar on trial for Child Molestation

The Satmar are the lefts favorite Jews. They frequently point to this deranged cult as some sort of moral beacon in their obsession with Israel. The most bigoted also toss them into the gutter afterwards with accurate portrayals of welfare rates. Mainstream lefties who are part of the cult of Obama feign ignorance that this crew voted for Obama in droves for his anti Israel positions.

Sexual abuse scandals have hit many denominations. However only the Satmar appear to have first attempted to bully the victim into silence and when that failed bribe the victim to drop the charges and emigrate to ISRAEL. The Satmar are against the Jewish state but see no difficulty in trying to bribe a crime victim and sending them there when expedient.

The question of who directed these attempts to silence the victim of a crime will not be asked. As we are dealing with a deranged cult those on trial will never point their finger and do the jail time. When the scandal is forgotten some pardon or early release will be engineered by a cult friendly politician.

Obama layoffs and under employment

A direct consequence of Obamacare is the rise of the part time worker. There will be fewer full time jobs as Obama opens the flood gates with another impending amnesty. The breadline will be longer and those college grads will be at Starbucks.

It is ironic that two of the groups directly responsible for putting the incompetent Obama will suffer from his deranged policies. Blacks and College Students will pay for their poor choices. Unemployment and crime will plague the inner city and students will not be able to pay off their loans.

Amazingly, the frummies are still here. They take their kid to a doctor for "Epstein Barr" because the kid is sleepy. A real doctor would diagnose this as jackassicus fumoron parenticus. If the leave now the kid might get home at 1:30 on a school night. Of course I could not enjoy this game as the frummies wait until the last second to extend my agony. The kid has deduced I refuse to eat with them.

On Thanksgiving it is the time for hope. There is no hope in a nation governed by a man who can not lead and does not have a clue. Our hope is that after yet more failures the GOP delivers another spanking and he is rendered an afterthought. Look for Hillary to spill the beans when she is gone.

Count on Frummies to mess up everything

When we last left the planets most inconsiderate religious zombies messed up another holiday. My parents are home this year and I arranged for my daughter to spend it with the in laws. I made arrangements for a caterer so I would not have to do industrial cooking. Last second the religious mendicants decide to come here.

I have to cancel the caterer because if the food is not perfectly Kosher the usual hell breaks out. The caterer made a Kosher turkey and sent it over. My folks and I ate it for lunch while I went into the kitchen to create something from my memory

I did not find my usual ingredients. I like to cook a turkey over a bed of barley, mushrooms, cut Texas white onions and Maine potatoes. I stuff the inside with citrus fruit and paint the turkey with Honey from Poland add crushed garlic, cajuin powder and an Italian seasoning and a mesquite based bbq sauce. I only had limited supplies and had to improvise. I had a bed of Texas White Onions, Sweet Potatoes, some small non Maine potatoes ( less than Maine is an insult). I brushed the Turkey with Vermont Maple syrup ( the stuff is powerful and needs to be lightly applied) used plenty of garlic powder and pepper. I stuffed the center with local pears peeled and added lime juice. Came out pretty good but I had to eat the catered food before the jerks arrived. 

They arrived at 7:30 at night late as usual and ruined an excellent meal. The excuses never change and I am done listening to them. All the effort wasted because these clowns have zero consideration for anyone else.

Of course he arrives late has a bad attitude and is in brain impaired form.

The latest complaint is I eat at the Greek Diner when these relatives are home. The Greek Diner in many ways is my sanctuary from these inconsiderate jerks. Fortunately, I have work and have never been so glad to go in even if there was another Sandy and 9-11 combined I would find my way in. I can not stand spending any time with these clowns who show no consideration for anyone. I never hated this crew until the summer when they dropped in for twelve agonizing weeks. There was excuse after excuse to prolong the agony. 

On Saturday I will spend the day with my daughter. I will be spared more time with these jerks. They only excel in excuses and more ways to annoy people. If you wish to be religious don't inflict this on other people.

If you make demands on other people due to your quirks try to be brief. 

On a personal level lateness and excuses drive me batty. Two decades of lateness and these impositions are enough. As stated I might have been annoyed but this summer was too much. I am stuck with this relative at family gatherings and the mix of self centered lateness, sixth grade level corny jokes and religious dogmatism is under my skin. He feigns that he is soooo concerned but it isn't even a good act.

This relative is not a particularly nice person. I keep wondering why his wife keeps trying to talk to me when I make it clear that this is finished. In her mind this will pass, but she doesn't grasp how this anger has built up over years. She asked "How come we haven't met your daughter". My response is "I love the kid and you guys are my problem not hers". A normal person would grasp that it should be left alone but not these clowns.  

The Greek place is a place that I can be free of these demands. I can enjoy a bowl of soup and have wacky sandwiches and tell jokes. The TV is set to ESPN sports so I can enjoy the sports with the guys. They always have a nice bowl of jello and green tea. In a way the Greek Diner is timeless and I merely age across a sea of faces. 

What are you telling a person when you are always late? What are you telling a person when you alter their plans at the last second? What are you telling someone when you force your religious practices on others? Quite simply you are walking around like everyone else is your servant and you have a divine sense of entitlement. In small doses I am generally fine. After this summer I am not. I tried to warn this relative that the damage is likely permanent but he did not yield. I even offered to pay the private school costs closer to home but again he did not yield.

It would go a long way if he would apologize for this summer and not talk to me for a while. Unfortunately, this is not in his makeup and he just lives in a clueless fog of religious texts and delusions of relevance. As we speak he is off on another tantrum. This one because I walked away and will not fight with him and eat at the diner when he is home. Run and hide he yelled at me. In reality it is walk away disgusted to a happier place.

There is a reader who rants about gays. A gay relative would not create this much mayhem even if they were the stereotypical drama Queen. I could eat as I wished and live my life free from rules that mean little to me. I might get a few fashion lectures and told what wine goes with what at worst. I am tired of the impositions, the 

perpetual lateness, changing plans last second and running around like he is a victim. 

It looks like Twinkies may rise again

I had no doubt some buyer would produce twinkies. However at work I had what I thought were my last Devil Dogs. My mother always put these in my lunch. I actually liked the fruit pies as a kid. Part of the fun of being a father is sharing things with your kid. Somehow my odd love of barley has been picked up by my daughter who looks for it in soup and served as a side.

Similarly my fathers love of Pistachio ice cream got passed to me and onto my daughter who was curious as to what that strange green ice cream is. Hostess and Drake's products were always in my home and around my desk. Sharing a twinkie with my daughter is a good memory.

I was watching my daughter and preparing to pass her a bag of Sour Patch candy. Without warning her two year old niece ripped the bag from my hand. Do note the two year old does not do that with other packages.
I guess I will have to switch brands. The kids messed me up by eating an entire jar of barrel pickles as I left popcorn and pretzels around. I enjoy the B &G brand but will buy others on occasion.

On the brighter side my daughter has started to love reading. She is not at my level or that of Rav Roov, but she does it on her own. It is not important that she is not reading the financial page or even the heavy books
that I read at her age. This will come in time and the love of the printed word comes first.

It is a safe bet that on Christmas morning my daughter will have Swiss Miss and Twinkies with her Nook reader.

To Kill A Campaign

It is becoming apparent that President Obama lied about Bengazi. How much if any help could summoned to assist remains unclear. Maybe the people making the choice thought they could be ransomed or we would lose more men with no probability of rescue.

I have serious ethical issues with an administration who would lie about an act of terror merely to get elected.
The truth is the voters would not have held a terrorist attack against Obama. Perhaps limited damage would be caused by the requests for security but these types of things do unfortunately happen. Claiming this attack had anything to do with a You Tube video was a direct lie.

The far left cries about Fox News but it was the only outlet that said a word. The media sat on this story as well as the potential layoff wave that would follow an Obama victory. The layoff Tsunami following the election of the messiah materialized. Those of you who lost your jobs can comfort yourself that Obama and his University Marxist and Limousine Radicals friends are toasting champagne while you wonder about your future.

The stupid Obama inspired OWS never quite grasps that their debts come from Big Academia selling costly worthless degrees so political hacks like Bill Ayers and Angela Davis can get well paid for no work. The brain impaired students blame the bankers while holding hands with their lazy professors who with rare exception publish worthless scholarship. President Obama is a classic example of this politicization of Big Academia. We can't see his transcripts so the specter that he was a classic affirmative action or nepotism hire remains. How he was allowed to remain on the job for 12 years with zero published articles is unknown.
Also the books assigned to his political class have remained beyond discussion in the media.

Ultimately,  telling the truth about terrorism would not have cost many votes. You have to wonder about the priorities of a person who would shift the blame for a well planned attack to an obscure film. Even if the later
were true Muslims need to grasp that this does not justify violence. If this type of activity does justify violence every time a group of nuts burns an American flag the USA should respond with a well placed missile.The apology tours are unusual as Muslims have an extensive history of colonialism and Jim Crow abuses  of their own that exceed their Marxist stoked preposterous victim claims. Note to Bill Clinton any apology for slavery should have been said in America to the descendants of slaves, not in Africa.

As bad as Clinton was nobody could call him stupid or tone deaf. The American people cry out for jobs and Obama responds with a job killing health care plan and food stamps. Obama will push some sort of legalization so that people who knowingly broke the laws can stand next to you on the unemployment and bread lines.

The media is guilty of complicity in allowing Obama to lie. Obama has tried to shift the blame to Hilary and the CIA and the media still protects the Dear Leader. Ultimately, if Hillary were smart she would resign now and start criticizing the tone deaf Obama and position herself in 2016. However, one needs to wonder how much damage four more years of arrogance, stupidity and incompetence can create.

 

Goodbye Twinkies

The goons of big labor have killed a piece of Americana. The last Twinkies and Wonderbread will be off store shelves soon. I can remember many good moments with a Drake cake nearby. On a lark I took two twinkies with me on the flight from LA. The legend of the cream being forced outside at higher altitudes was false.

Big labor backed Obama and his job killing healthcare debacle. The workers will join the ranks of Obama induced layoffs. The union was warned this would happen and pressed on with a strike.

Hopefully, some company will buy the Twinkie name and produce something similar.
