Unlike the criticism aimed at Obama, the criticism of Patterson is non racial. Patterson is a walking disaster and an inept political hack. His opponents have zero need to play the race card because he is clueless. Patterson injected race into the mix to link his critics to those criticizing Obama.
That being said Obama should let the folks in NY decide our own fate than act as kingmaker in our local politics. Let the voters choose between Little Lord Fauntleroy ( Andrew Cuomo) and Patterson the Inept. Of course choosing Rudy or any other adult over these two would be sanity.
Has anyone forgot the disasters at HUD run by this empty suit. Has anyone forgotten that King Bubba thought soooo much of his own cabinet member he asked him to step aside in a local race.
Cuomo's only asset is that anyone looks good when compared to Patterson's lack of leadership and poor judgement.
If Patterson had half a brain he would have given Cuomo Hillary's seat. Instead he picked another non entity to fill her shoes. At least this non entity is attempting to represent NY which is more than Hillary ever did.
Obama did one good thing for NY. He got Hillary out of our local politics. Maybe Obama can show some real courage and politely ask Charles Rangel to retire.

I have a simple question. If New York and the rest of the country is so "racist" as its painted to be, then how did black men get elected as governor and president with a majority vote?
I remember real racism in the 50s and early 60s. Segregated facilities, turning fire hoses and police dogs on blacks engaged in peaceful protest, etc.
Alligator-Or Eisenhower sending the National Guard to escort a 6 yr. old black girl to school...I remember that one!
Oh, wait! Eisenhower was one of those racist republicans... won't say what the political affiliation of those who set loose the dogs and fire hoses was...
My criticism of obama has nothi to do with race...it has EVERYTHING to do with character(or lack of it), corruption and lies. None of which come in a color!

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was filibustered by the Democrats.

After 54 days Sen Robert Byrd (D-WV) opposed a bipartisan comprise of Senators Everett Dirksen (R-IL), Thomas Kuchel (R-CA), Hubert Humphrey (D-MN), and Mike Mansfield (D-MT)
Al Gore Sr (D-TN) not only voted against the act, he sought to take the teeth out of it if it should pass by sending an amendment to the Judiciary Committee that read "in defiance of a court desegregation order, federal funds could not be held from any school districts."
Al Gore Jr. has publicly stated that his father was a proponent of the CRA and that his dad was "delighted" with the prospect of his son attending school with blacks. Al Jr. attended private shcools all his life.
All the Southern Democrats voted against the CRA which led President Johnson to tell an aide, "We have lost the south for a generation."
If the Republicans had not been behind the CRA it never would have passed, just like Emancipation.
I remember that police (or the National Guard, I wouldn't have known the difference) escorted a young black man to college long ago. I was a child then and what I recall is patchy. I remember, though, that it was big news in Germany, news so big that I still remember.
So-called minorities, I am specifically thinking of blacks, Muslims, homosexuals and women (who are, of course, not a minority) here, have in common that they do not strive for equality, but for dominance and change of the existing society and culture. They refuse to assimilate (i.e. to play the game by the rules the majority has established) but expect the majority to assimilate to them or to go away. Nothing is enough, they whine, complain and threaten until they get another slice of the salami and then the next and the next and the next...
Apart from blacks, their past oppression is either wildly exaggerated or totally construed. Something else they have in common is the fact that their only too often cited decent, peaceful and non-radical majorities totally fail to make themselves heard, and that to an extent that one starts to doubt that they exist.
Obama and his bunch play the white guilt of the Americans like a fiddle.
I wonder why Jews are a minority that never fell back on that strategy. They assimilated, went on with their lives and became a success, yet they are still hated. Go figure!
