Rosie O'Dumbell is leaving the view after one year. It seems odd that since she has been on the air the ratings have been better. However, those stupid 9-11 conspiracy comments probably scared the suits.
Rosie is a dumba$$, but she understood the same forces that claimed Imus would come looking for a scalp He comments were disgusting and far worse than Imus's lame attempt at humor. Yet this is likely an executive matter and the top brass is gun shy. They didn't want the potential headaches Rosie's mouth could create.
Sadly, she has revitalized her career and someone will give her a mediocre talk show watched by idiots. The show will become a lightning rod and generate its own publicity. The question is who is brave enough to risk it in the new environment.

I suspect her ratings had something to do with Jerry Springer being on in the time slight right before "The View..."
Rumor has it that she has gotten the part of the pig in the, (way, way off) Broadway production of Charlot's Web.
who cares?
FJ
Hmmm this is possible.
Warren
Tempeton the rat is more probable. In the cartoon it was voiced by Paul Lynde.
Rob
In the new PC attmosphere networks are apt to avoid headaches.
Paul Lynde's voice was perfect for the rat.
those stupid 9-11 conspiracy comments probably scared the suits.
Really? Quite a time lag between those comments and now.
If I had to choose between watching O'Donnell or Springer as my only two choices, I'd switch off the TV set. Only by bad luck have I ever caught a snippet of either show.
There is also a rumor that she wanted $10 million for 1 year and the network wanted 3...
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

She came in for almost no money seeking to rehabilitate her career.
I think there is a grain of truth and also some anxious suits.
AOW
This may sound funny but Lynde was a talented Broadway actor. He is best known for the Hollywood Squares and Bewitched but he was also in Bye Bye Birdie.
His singing was not bad and dinstinctive.
I'm having trouble imagining a "singing" Paul Lynde... I wonder if they've any old tapes?
Was Lynde in the movie version of Bye, Bye, Birdie?
I remember him on those other two shows you mentioned. At my--ahem--age, I remember some of the older shows.
Farmer John
I think he is in the Broadway and Movie Versions of Bye Bye Birdie and he sings a number in Charlotte's Web as Templeton the Rat.
Lynde was a Broadway actor and the only member of the original cast to star in the film version. That was suposedly his breakout role.
Many of these minor celebrities are known more for their roles on Game shows than the screen. Richard Dawson was in Hogan's Heroes but that is remembered by nobody. Brett Sommers was Jack Klugmans wife in real life and on the Odd Couple. He talked them into letting her appear for a guest appearance. I am at a loss to name major work by Charles Nelson Reilley other than cartoon voices.
Lynde apparently was a decent Broadway performer before doing the other stuff.
Reilly played the obnoxious nephew on "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" tv series. He played a twitty jerk to a "T"!

This is even more odd but he was in the Broadway version of Bye Bye Birdie as well.
I saw that on Widepedia and I remember the short childrens show with Johnathan Harris.
Why do so many right wingers follow Rosie?
She'd be driving a truck if it weren't for your viewership. I have to blame people like Beak for the current state of our media.
Ducky
If it were up to me there would be a Mark Levin and Sean Hannity Network.
Lets see 9-11 conspiracy idiocy and "we shouldn't be afraid of terrorist because they are fathers"
Sorry there but she is demented even by low far left standards.
Hey Beak, did you Hannity was going to debate Sharpton. Did you tune in and give a boost to Reverend Al's ratings?
You don't know you're being gamed, do you? Stop being a chump.
I heard it expressed that Rosie has basically become a "shock jock" and ABC executives were biting their fingernails waiting for the next gaffe from her.
Rosie or Springer?
I'll take Jerry Springer, at least its well-known that his shows are fake and nobody take him seriously. Rosie's followers are incredibly gullible and actually believe that she is an oracle of truth.
Sharpton will never come on the Mark Levin Show. That would be on pay perview.
Levin Rules!!!!!!!!
Beak, you sound like a school girl with a crush, when it comes to Levin and Hannity. I can't stand either one of these crackpots.
I heard that she is also a carpet muncher too. Is that a true statement, because from what I've heard, it is a wee bit obvious.
Rob
The Duck has two reasons for his ignorance.
1 Mark Levin doesn't waste his time with the nuts in MA.
2 The Duck is a Marxist dolt.
Mark Levin is on in Detroid and is a riot
Stewart
This is true but it is not the reason for my disdain. On 9-11 when I ran North all types of people ran with me.
Many a braver man raced towards history as I raced away. Making conspiracy theories for political gain makes a mockery of the brave Firemen who raced to save lives.
I will never forget the haunting looks on the face of the firemen that day. No description can ever convey that look. That look haunts my memories more than any other part of the day.
Not sure what Ducky, has to do with your school girl crush on Levin and Hannity.
If you listened to the Mark Levin show you would be a fan. Mark doesn't bandy words with Commies he
slaps them around. There is nothing
better than to watch Levin disect a Commie rat like Ducky.
I have heard Levin, he is a annoying prick, kinda like his boy toy Hannity.
The best was when they beat up on Alec Baldwin. Levin calls Hannity's show all the time. I have to check if he helped Hannity drop kick Amiri Baraka.
Baldwin is tough with a 12 year old girl but Levin kicked his tail.
Levin is the funniest man on the radio. He is also an actual Constitutional lawyer.
Rosie will resurface now that she's got a real hook.
Maybe she'll hit the stump for the truthers, although I can't say they'll be able to pony up $10 million for her fees.
she should get her own show on the food network
Elmer
I am still trying to figure out why the security guards at work can't stand Rachel Ray. I don't understand it but there is some animus towards her that is odd. I see it much like Earl does anyone slinging food at me gets my approval.
if Rosie is slinging the food I would consider a food fight
Rachel Ray is a different story....she's much more attractive and anyone that can fix me a meal in 30 minutes or less leaves me with more time to do the things I want...what's not to like
No, because Emeril already has claim to "Pork fat rules".
Ok, let me get this straight. Bayn, your contribution to this discussion has been to say "who cares" and then pee on Beak because he likes radio hosts that you don't? Do you even have your driver's license yet?
As for Rosie, she is a loose cannon, and loose cannons get the boot as soon as its convenient. If they can turn it into a contract dispute, everyone wins. The suits get to say, "It was the contract. Happens all the time." Rosie gets to claim that she was a persecuted lesbian leftist. And we all get to laugh at all the bathos!
Don't forget, "Pork Fat Rules".
I guess the license comment was a shot at my age, wow never been poked at about that before!
Sorry I did not live up to your Contribution requirements, but one day I hope to grow up and fit "Lesbian Leftist" in a discussion, thats so cool!
Since we're all weighing in on Rachel Ray.... I find her voice and mannerisms grating.
I prefer Julia Child. And hey, does anyone remember the Galloping Gourmet?
I do remember the Galloping Gourmet. TV was better in those days with the 4:30 movie on seven
and the Million Dollar Movie on 9.
I remember the absurd Kimba the White Lion Show as well.
There was also Romper room that came after Jack Lalane on 9. PBS I think was still showing Charlie Chaplin films in those days instead of the political stuff.
Quite a time lag between those comments and now
It takes a while for significant feedback to accumulate. Typical View viewers won't be clueful enough to have noticed it right away, so secondary distribution channels are probably how most people heard of it.
Its how I heard of it.
Charlie Chaplin wasn't political. One more example of your ignorance, Beak. Please study your film history and rent a copy of "Modern Times".
Duncy
Charlie Chaplai films are not political compared to the current BS that comes from PBS. PBS should have returned to showing Chaplin film long ago.
