Farmer John and I sometimes delve into the abstract. This five question interview will focus on some vauge topics.
1 In my extensive readings and contact with Communist it seems that almost everyone that I encounter grew up in a home without religion. Is this a case of nature abhoring a vacum? Does Marxism have religious overtones?
2 Are the ecoutopians guilty of inventing a paradise that never was intheir Green Fantasies.
3 Are those on the far left elitists or thieves with killer PR?
4 Should man recreate extinct species with modern technology. Is cloning a Wolly Mammoth from frozen DNA a bad idea?
5 Are bioenginered or genetrically altered foods a potential problem for mankind. Is the lack of genetic diversity amongst domestic annimals and crops a potential problem in the future.
How come FJ gets all the cool questions?

ReplyDeleteI was raised by two atheist parents. They are both politically conservative atheists who love our country. I've also checked it out, they are officially the world's best parents. We obviously don't talk about G-d at family get togethers.

FJ what caused the extinction of the Wooly Mammoth remains unknown.
Maybe my grand kids will get to see one or a Moa. The Mammoth may be possible because it was frozen.

beak? what about all the new species of animals they're finding in the seas and in lands south of the equator? those are things our ancestors never imagined. you answered your own question on the wooly mammoth i believe.

Ducky, you group all the Evangelicals together as somehow not walking in the "light", i have nothing against Catholics, in fact i think Catholics are as much Christian as anyone else, but i haven't seen much of what you say even slightly resemble being Christ like, than again that could be said for a lot of folks including me, but you sure do come off as being very supportive of Communist regimes, so i will be willing to buy you a plane ticket to live in Cuba, since its just so wonderful!

ReplyDeleteNo, I won't bow down to any golden calves, no matter who puts them up! And plucky, I may just recreate a dissertation I sat under, about the Beatitudes. Drug addicts and gangsters, prostitutes, and those who have lost the ability to recognize right and wrong. Jesus was pretty strict about our thought life, that our mind is where the battle is won or lost, before we act.
Strict interpretation of Scripture is born out by Jesus own teachings. And HE never compromised on sin, but HE also went to sinners and told them that there was a way out! And we are all sinners!

Farmer John that was the most interesting interview I've ever read. Humans are most definitely a hierarchical(is that a word?) bunch. So even if there wasn't a god we would have created Him.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion he exists without a doubt based on the laws of physics and the universe. It seems to necessarily follow that if there are physical laws of science and nature they must have been created.
It's the purvue of philosophers as much as it is scientists. I prefer Loren Isley to Nietze(sp?). Anyways I'll bore you no longer, that was a GREAT interview!

ReplyDeleteDucky, I guess it's a huge compliment that non-Christians always seem to think Christians are supposed to be perfect! But why is that? Everyone makes choices, everyone sins....why condemn a whole bunch for the hideous choices of a few? We're Christians, we have the promise, we're not perfect.

We haven't had to many klunkers as far as interviews just the one with Uptown. This has been one of the better one's. I like the ones with the Editrix, She Designs and the long forgotten interview with Rob the Dirty Liberal. This is near the top.
